Chapter 34 - Episode 32: ISOLATION

Red quickly summons Harry to look after the traumatized Gabby for the meantime.

RED: Are you sure you don't want your memories altered?

GABBY: Yeah...this fear will go away. But thank you.

RED: *smiles* *Pats Gabby's Hair*

RED: *looks up to Harry* Take care of her.

HARRY: Aye, aye sir.

RED: I know him more. I'm going to beg the divine empress to give us a few days to find him. I don't...want him to regret this choice forever.

HARRY: I know...and...I know that he'll come back to us, too.

RED: Gabby, do your best protecting yourself too, hm?

GABBY: Yes! Do your best too!

RED: *looks stunned* *softly smiles* Right.

*teleports to the spirit realm*

RED: Vixen, is the divine empress occupied for the moment?

VIXEN: Mmm, I'm honestly busy right now but no, the divine empress seem to be free today. What's the matter?

RED: Humility ran off to the isolation grounds.

VIXEN: WHAT?!

RED: I expect you to be quiet about this. Many rank thirsty reapers would do anything to surpass him, and if he does come back, I feel like they would try and taunt him, and probably hurt his pride.

VIXEN: Understood.

...

RED: Mmm...I can't even summon him anymore. I feel like his flare vanished the moment he disappeared, ma'am.

ALICE: Mmmm...that's okay. He was scared to expose his flaws...just like what he always feel when he was alive. He felt inferior to everyone around him. That's why he worked hard...to achieve the second rank. To be acknowledged. He tried to hide everything that would lead it to this point.

The jinxes sure are...cheaters to have had access to his memories like that.

RED: I...I don't even know why he...he was afraid.

ALICE: I won't tell you details about his story, it may change your perspective of him.

RED: I need to know...to understand him better!

ALICE: Red...he's the type of people you hate. The type of people who've...made your past life miserable.

RED: *eyes bulges in shock and confusion* Huh?

ALICE: He is far from the Humility you know today...well, the beginning of him anyways...he...he isn't actually this good. Now I don't want to delve deeper into it but the only moment he felt worthy was after taking care of two kids until he die. He thinks that's his only ultimate change. Now I do believe he had always been kind but...he feels like he doesn't deserve anything good, although he wanted that...he tried to make himself suffer by oppressing those feelings and shutting his emotions. By hiding his past, he was...hurting himself.

RED: He's still my friend! And he changed! Isn't that what matters?? That bastard...he...*tears rolls down from his eyes* I understand him too! I...I had shut down my feelings before...but to realize he's been doing it for decades...for a lot of decades...it must have truly hurt...

ALICE: As much as I wanted to leave the holy grounds I cannot do that. But...I need Humility back too. Please do that for me.

RED: I will. Please give me ample time.

ALICE: Yes. I will. But hurry. Humility needs you. He's emotionally weakened...he...hates himself...

RED: So I need him to forgive his self first...

...

Humility cries and yells. His feet too shaky for him to even stand up properly. He could feel his heart aching and his head hurting from all his exhaustion. He thought he could keep it all inside. But he was very wrong.

The past never forgets.

And he knew, he'll forever have those memories and regrets with him.

He feels like everyone else have seen his vulnerability. And his father...his father was still deeply upset of him.

He looked at the distant mountains of the isolated dimension. Where there are nothing moving. He knew that staying there for too long would drain all his flare and make him disappear forever but...he felt too empty to even process the consequences.

The past...won't let him forget.
