Chapter 23 - Episode 21: LET HER GO

Gabby was afraid, and shaking when she found herself in a dark cold room.

Her eyes gleaming in the darkness, though she knew she was not alone. She could see scary looking ghouls and entity wander about her. Whispering words into her ear, she shut her eyes closed, but she could still feel them.

???: You stink of reapers. What is a human doing with one? I've never encountered someone like you before...what is your purpose?

GABBY: Why did you kidnapped me first?

???: It's because I hate reapers. And you? What are you doing among them?

GABBY: I...I am...protected by them...since a jinx wanted to have my soul.

???: A naughty jinx? Something must be special about you that only their sharp eyes could see... And even if I do not know what, your eyes are special enough as is. I wonder what I could do with you...

GABBY: Please, let me go. I didn't do anything wrong with you!

???: I hate reapers...and you seem to like them...then, I hate you too.

GABBY: That is so rude and ridiculous, ya know?! OH Tiwari how I miss you!

???: Stop whining, you damsel.

The wind gives off a vibe, and a cinder scent filled atmosphere.

Gabby knew that smell of smoke and cinders very well.

RED: Let her go.

???: A low level like you, won't defeat-

Red cuts him short as he threw a blazing fireball in his face, he was shocked, but not slow. He easily dodged it.

???: You pest, I won't let you get away with that...

The being teleported, his presence disappearing and unable to be detected.

Red activates his scarlet mark on his right cheek, being able to analyze the heat signature around him.

The room was too quiet. And then he smiled.

RED: You're near me, I know.

He teleported besides Gabby and attempted to cast a dozen shadow crows with fire blazes on its wings.

RED: Attack...

Gabby felt mesmerized by the scene.

The entity was forced to let his presence known after three crows were able to light his location. It burned his cloak and thus, was forced to throw it aside.

The man smiled: That's the last attack you'll be able to give. I just wanted to see your tricks.

RED: I'm not done.

He tried to capture the being with black shadow hands appearing on it's back but the man was too quick for them to capture.

The being emerged from the shadows, and his face was much clearer this time.

???: I'm the Prince and the founder of those techniques, I was just wondering if you're really a reaper or a wussy. Turns out you're the latter.

RED: Deltha??!

DELTHA: That's more like it. *gives a long heap and releases a white blinding light*

It was just one attack, but Red fell to the ground helplessly after that. Gabby was unharmed as Red used his body to cover her from the painful hot light that damaged him severely.

RED: You're...too strong...

DELTHA: I'm not done too.

Gabby couldn't watch anymore and as weak as she was, broke free of her tied hand to come on his front.

GABBY: Don't hurt him!

RED: Gabby...please...get away...

Red activated his scarlet mark and casted a shadow tying Gabby back to her place.

RED: I'd disintegrate first, before this creature lays a hand on you...

DELTHA: That's sweet but I don't care.

*attacks a weaker version of the light ray*

RED: *casts a big crow to dodge it for him*

It took a big amount of energy and Gabby noticed his soul got dimmer and dimmer.

GABBY: That's...that's his limit!

RED: *Created a fire blazing garuddo(a big ancient bird) to attack*

Deltha fought it in mere minutes until it vanishes.

Deltha disappears.

As tired as Red was he activated his scarlet mark once again to know of his presence, his feet wobbled as he reach his limit.

Deltha appeared in front of him, too quick for him to react, the said entity threw him in the air, and fell on the opposite side of the room.

Deltha slowly walks towards him.

Red's flare was disappearing quickly. He slowly gets back up, and created his one final attack, a black tornado. But to no avail. Deltha gave three powerful blows, and the tornado was gone. Red tried to stand up, but fell down again.

DELTHA: Still acting tough, hm?

RED: Kill me...

DELTHA: What?

RED: Kill me...I don't care. But please, I beg you, let her go.

DELTHA: Why would l-

RED: I beg you! With my last remaining strength to speak, stand and plea, let her go... I...she...she has nothing to do with this.

DELTHA: That's sweet...you almost made me remember of someone l know...

*he paused...then thought of the girl he deeply loved, but lost in the end*

RED: I'd be more than happy to vanish, knowing she's safe...

DELTHA: You're both annoying...and look, stop that, you're making the damsel cry. Fine. I'll let you both go, but if you tell a single soul about our encounter, I'll kill you both.

Red weakly smiled then fell to the ground.

DELTHA: *touched his forehead* You're healed for now. I'll send you both to the store she once stood, bye...may we not see each other again...weaklings.
