Qin Lie was holding his head in despair as he watched me claim first place. He then clenched his fists before jabbing a finger at me.
"How can this be allowed?!"
"Why wouldn't it be allowed?" The instructor in charge of the preliminary trial asked mildly, stroking his beard. Qin Lie spluttered before turning away. The old man continued. "There is no rule that says you can't use your partner spirit beast in the trial. Indeed, the students of Imperial Valley University excel in summoning. You can't possibly be thinking that they ban the use of partner spirit beasts or summoned spirit beasts during the tournament, could you?"
"No, that's not…"
