Chereads / Chaos Incarnate: Homer's Pen / Chapter 24 - The Dorms

Chapter 24 - The Dorms

When we were standing before the elevator my ID started lighting up and making this annoying beeping noise.

I pressed the watch and a hologram appeared, displaying a message.

"Hello, my name is Plamya, and I supervise the grooming program. Before you enter the elevator you should know that the grooming program ID can only bring you to underground floors.

The -1 floor contains the dorms and a stunning view, the -2 floor has classrooms, and lower than those are a few floors that you'll discover as you go. The Hero that brought you in and the Hero that vouched for you are both seen as your legal guardians and are responsible for your every action.

Take care!"

I was once again mindblown, this place was literally going to make my head explode if this went on.

Plamya, the most powerful Human, no, being to exist in the known solar system (so just Earth, Atlantis, the moon and Mars) was supervising the grooming program.

Oh well, at least Strongarm isn't our PE teacher.

We entered the elevator and I, together with Leo and Kirby, got another ping, this was just a system message to show that we had access to the levels below zero.

I held my ID to a scanner in the wall and chose to go to the dorms.

The way the elevator worked was that the Lobby and the floors where all the E-ranks of every organization slept didn't require an ID (mostly because they tended to only get them after they tried to start a mission) and the rest did.

The elevator went down at an incredible speed and then stopped, the satisfying ping accompanied the opening of the door.

right in front of us was a kind of common room, it had sofas and a few bookshelves plus a few vending machines for if someone got a bit hungry.

I was surprised to see that every kid here was extremely fit, almost like they had to train multiple hours a day, they also seemed to be drowning in homework. Oh, gods, what had I gotten myself into.

"Can I still just go?"

Leo chuckled, "Nope, too late to turn back now."

A girl looking like she got a stick up her ass approached us.

"Oh, I see a new student has made it here, I am Princess Rachel of England, you can kneel know."

Yes, that actually happened. Before I could retort another girl came over and said, "C'mon Rach, what did I tell you, no using your title and getting people to kneel, they wouldn't really care anyway."

"Sigh, I know, it's just so weird for me that no one kneels when I enter a room."

Ah, she was trying to get a bit of normality in this place of madness, I got that... Oh gods, I was nearly going to kneel because of that.

"Let me guess, you have some kind of persuasion ability."

Rachel perked up at that.

"I like this one, she didn't kneel even after I activated my ability and even figured it out. Let's try it again.

Hello, my name is Rachel, I'm 15 and I can persuade people by talking in specific ways."

The other girl also introduced herself. "Hi, the name's Emilia, just call me Em, I use magic."

"Hello, my name is Nora, I'm not allowed to tell people about my power unless it's necessary ... Sorry."

"Nah, it's fine, it's like that for a lot of people."

"Yeah, even back in Brittain it was customary that a servant only tells what their powers when the need arises, there is no need to apologize."

I was glad they were so accepting. I then turned to Emelia. "So ... You can use magic? You're the first person I know that can use magic."

Emilia immediately answered. "That's not true."

"What do you mean."

"The guy standing behind you can use magic, it's one of the only things I excel at, sensing people's aura."

I looked at Leo in surprise, he just nodded.

Emilia turned to Leo. "Say, I can sense that you are a really powerful wizard, could you teach me something?"

After Leo gave Em a few pointers I put my bag with a few clothes I had bought in the mall in my room. After that, Leo, Thea and Kirby said goodbye and left.

I went to talk with Em and Rachel and after about half an hour it was time for dinner, or how Rachel liked to say it, it was time for tea.

When I went to the mess hall one of the biggest buffets I had ever seen (it was the only buffet I had ever seen) was laid in front of me.

It looked to be a hard school but at least the food would be good and I would always have access to the biggest shopping center in the world. I guess it's best to always look on the bright side of life. NO, I'm not going to whistle.
