Chapter 1 - The Awekening

Benjamin looked around with Terror filled eyes, his mind trying to comprehend what just happened here. The whole building had collapsed suddenly when one of the seniors swung a fist at him. He didn't know how it happened only that it felt like pent up stress was relieved from his body suddenly and what he felt at the moment was like he went through a full on body massage. Suddenly, he remembered that his sister was in the building too for it was a party.

"Lucy!" he called out once as he got into his feet. He looked around, searching to see if he would spot her but it was in vain. "LUCY!"

"Over here!" he heard someone say. He turned to the direction the sound came from and saw a large ceiling floor there. Horrified, Benjamin ran to the block then got hold of it and lifted it off the ground and threw it away like it weighed nothing. Under it was a red head girl who was strangely fine besides all of this.

"Are you alright?" he asked her as he helped her up.

"Yeah, I got lucky, I guess. How did this happen? Did someone bring a bomb here?" she asked him but Benjamin shook his head.

"I don't know but we need to get out of here before anything else happens," he told her. Lucy nodded and they set off towards her car. But she noticed that Benjamin's face became paler and paler the more they went and she also noticed the bodies of their schoolmates burried in the rubble. She got hold of his hand and continued on to her car. There, she had to buckle him because he was still in shock and she had to steady her nerves before she started the car's engine. Then, she had to drive slowly because her hands were shaking too that even going at twenty miles an hour would be lethal! But, they got to their house safely and neither of them talked to each other as they went to their rooms. Lucy did not have the mind to start her usual bedtime ceremony for she just threw herself into the bed and started thinking back to what happened.

She was talking to her friends, ogling at Ryan who for some reasons had his shirt off, showing off just how ripped he was! She was whispering to her friend about how he might have a small dick when danger signals rang in her mind. Her telekinesis shield just kicked in and it was the one that saved her life! Everyone was thrown to the ground and the house fell onto all of them! Screams were heard followed by dying gags of people choking on their blood and dying. It was the most terrifying moment of her life. Just then, she heard her brother calling out to her. She couldn't respond at first but be called out even louder and she heard it. She answered it and then, the ceiling floor on too of her shield was lifted off and thrown away like it was a cardboard. She was shocked at first but hid it well. She knew her brother had powers like her!

At midnight, Lucy turned in her blankets, her mind still reeling at the commotion of the previous day. She could still remember the dying screams and she couldn't sleep. She knew her brother might be worse so she got up and went to his room. She found him staring blankly at the ceiling, the usual reprimand about her not getting into his room did not come so she knew he was troubled.

"Scooch over, doofus," she said as she got into the blankets forcibly but Benjamin did not even argue. "Still thinking about yesterday?"

"I can't sleep," he simply answered. Lucy sighed as she put her hands around him.

"Me too, Ben, me too," she answered. Just then, Benjamin started crying as he hugged her tighter and for some reason, she started crying too.

The place was already filled with all manners of boys in uniform by the time Stanley arrived. He got out of his car which was being followed by a procession of them and marched to the house. At the yellow tape, he gave the officer his badge which showed he was the current director of Sentinel Services.

"Nobody called for you SS boys," a man wearing an impeccable suit said. Stanley looked at him and growled in the inside.

"We have a mutant that flagged this place as a possible mutant awakening site. So, we had to confirm," Stanley answered him with a forced smile.

"Yeah, well, this is a crime scene and until it is confirmed that mutants have a hand in this, you are to stay out of the yellow line," the man said and turned away. Stanley gnashed his teeth in anger before sighing helplessly and obeying the man.

"Alex Muscher sure has a dislike for you, sir," a woman beside him said.

"He's the current FBI director and he is not happy that Sentinel Services is being handled mutant cases which should have been given to the FBI. Anyway, let's wait, mutant signs are bound to show. Tell the boys to be prepared to move in. Tell them no one should get inside the crime scene once it becomes ours," he said. The woman nodded and went away. An hour later, Stanley saw Alex coming towards him with a scowl on his face and he put on a mocking smile on his own face.

"We found this," Alex said and gave Stanley a broken phone which coincidentally was still working. Stanley took it and saw it was a group of girl taking a selfie. But in the background, there was a boy who was surrounded by four footballers who seemed to be laughing as the boy was crouched and hugged his head onto his knees. But what was interesting was that he was surrounded by tiny arcs of electricity. The next selfie showed the girls in a different pose and the footballers in the air as they could see a shockwave coming from the boy. Stanley was stunned because this showed that a powerful electricity controlling mutant had just awakened. He turned to Alex who was in distress just like him.

"We can't see his face, we can't pin him down for now. We need to work together here," Stanley told him.

"Exactly my plan. We have multiple undamaged phones and have the identities of each teenager in here. We can start investigating right away, starting with the boys who are at the lower food chain but had a reason to come here," Alex answered. Stanley knew Alex might be an arse but he had a good head on his neck, that is, when dealing with normal humans.

"Good. For now, get everyone off my crime scene!" Stanley growled as he walked past the yellow line.
