Her words made her immediate family look at her with contempt. They couldn't refuse her, the Queen has assigned Will to deal with this matter and she took advantage of that. The family of three had no other choice, but to leave Jo and Will, to discuss this matter in private.
Jo was very well aware, that she couldn't commit treason, so she reiterated everything that truly happened, from start to end. Her most terrifying experience ever.
After hearing it all, Will was rendered speechless and conflicted. No wonder they couldn't track her whereabouts, she was in the hands of the fiercest power in the whole of Asia. He fell pensive, did the actions of that man had a hidden motive, was this a hidden political attack.
Jo could merely guess what Will was thinking, so she decided to cover for Lu Ye Ze just this once.
"Will, I don't think this incident was aimed at the UK's Royal Court, I think it was more of a situation, where I was in the wrong place, at the wrong time and got dragged into someone else's underground business"
"I understand!" Will said reluctantly "I would not investigate this matter in detail then, but I will supervise the developing actions closely!"
After another hour of conversing amiably, the cousins bade farewell to each other and Jo took a cab home.
Back at Landmark place, Jo was talking to reception. She inquired about Millie, her co-worker, if she was still there and any mail/messages she had missed. The reception staff, gave her all her mail and informed her, that Millie moved out a month ago. She had left the keys of the apartment with them. Jo collected them and went up to her flat.
Inside, the place was as she left it. Jo was moving aimlessly from room to room, it was her home, but she felt like a stranger and quite lonely. She went to take a hot shower, various memories were crossing through her mind. She felt uncomfortable now, like she was floating and couldn't touch the ground, a heavy weight was pressing on her chest. Where did it came from and what was it related to, she wasn't sure.
After one hour under the hot water, Jo put on her pyjamas and got under the covers of her bed. Although it was only three a clock in the afternoon, Jo didn't feel right so she decided to sleep it over, as she always used to do.
