The man got up from the chair and walked towards her. In his arms he was carrying a fur coat. Seeing the man coming towards her, Jo's body started trembling, she felt lightheaded and her vision became blurry. Noticing the girl losing her balance, Lu Ye Ze called her.
"Ri-El!"
In the next moment Jo blacked out and felt her body limp falling to the ground. Lu Ye Ze caught her in his arms, she had just fainted. The situation had overwhelmed her. Too much has happened tonight and her escape attempts all rendered fruitless. She felt like she was in a labyrinth, whichever turn she would make, she would hit a wall. A wall that turned bigger and bigger every time. This wall was called Lu Ye Ze.
Jo feel in a long deep sleep, she dreamed about many things, her family, her home and her childhood. It was like her whole life had crossed before her eyes and she relieved every moment with more passion than before. She didn't knew how much time had passed, but she didn't want to wake up anymore, she wanted to live there in her dream with her loved ones. The reality was too cruel.
Unfortunately a loud noise suddenly awoken her, she opened her eyes and looked around in surprise. The room she was in, was strange, it wasn't hers nor his. 'Where is this place?'
Jo got up from the bed. She was wearing a long silk night gown, she studied the room with her eyes and then headed towards the windows. She pulled the curtains and what she saw outside shocked her thoroughly. Behind the Haussmanian rooftops a metallic peak could be seen piercing through the sky. It was the Eifel Tower.
Jo was rendered speechless, was she really in Paris. She left the window and started running towards the door. When she opened it, a large living room dressed in baroque style furniture and classical paintings had captivated her eyes, but suddenly her focus fell on something else.
On the large sofa, a man was sitting crossed leg leisurely, sipping from a tea cup while holding a newspaper. The strong smell of fine coffee enveloped her nostrils.
"You're awake" The man spoke up.
Jo recalled what had happened last night. 'Was he mad?' of course he must be mad, she had tried to escape again and run away from him at such an event. Jo assumed a guilty posture and awaited his wrath to ambush her.
The man looked at her pitiful face and he eased his aura a little.
"Aren't you hungry? Come and have breakfast"
Jo looked up at the man. He seemed calm, but was it the calm before the storm? She moved carefully towards the breakfast table, where an array of French dishes were sophisticatedly displayed. Jo looked at them and started salivating instantly. She took a seat, but didn't touch anything. Her life depended on this moment, she needed to find a way to pacify the devil.
"Have you had yours?"
The man put his coffee down.
"I don't eat breakfast"
Jo pondered for a bit, this was her chance "But breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Please eat a bit... What would you like? I will prepare it"
Upon hearing the girls shy words Lu Ye Ze paused, he looked at her and smiled.
"I like French toast"
Jo's face suddenly brightened "You do? Me too!" Said Jo in excitement, but on the table from all those various dishes only one was missing, French toast.
