Sky's pov-
We had just reached the hideout and noticed that it looked abandoned but max said that they made it look like that so no one would come in. When we walked inside it was so dark I almost fell on my face twice. From what I could see there was a big table in the middle of the room and there looked like there was a light on the ceiling so I started searching the walls for a light switch. Since It was really dark I looked weird reaching one hand out to the wall and the other to the side of me and Andrew whispered, "what are you doing?"
I answered back saying, "I think there might be a light switch somewhere," I walked down the room keeping my hand on the wall searching for a light.
"Oh ok."
"Oh! Found one," I declared happily as I turned it on.
"Oh. Wow," Max exclaimed realizing that he had been squinting.
"Huh. Yeah. I could barely seen," Kara agreed. We went back to looking for things and didn't find much except a empty folder and the light switch after 5 minutes of searching.
"Can we finish searching? I'm bored," Andrew blurted as we heard noises from another room at the far end of the room we're in. We all looked at eachother and said some form of hide. I ducked under a table that had red cloth on it, Andrew hid under a desk, Max went behind a table that wasn't put up and was on its side and kara went into another room probably behind something.
"So how did the boss respond when you guys told him that you didn't capture anyone?" The man that walked in first asked. The other man to the right of him made a face insisting that it didn't go well.
"Oh." He said, "Did anything go as planned?"
"No, I don't think so." He looked around the room trying to find something but realized something instead, "wait he did find the information they had."
"That's good."
"Yeah."
"We have to find it, Barry. The boss's going to be really mad if we don't get it." I looked over to Max who was the closest to me and mouthed, "Find what?"
"I don't know." He mouthed back.
"Where do you think it's going to be?" The shorter man said.
"Well it's small and blue so somewhere were it can match the coloring."
"Ok. So we're looking for a diamond shape device that is sky blue and has white streaks moving inside it the device."
"Uh, very disciptive but yes that's what we're looking." I looked at Andrew than max after he finished talking and mouthed, "We have to find that before they do." Andrew nodded his head and Max mouthed back, "K." We searched where we hid first and didn't find anything at first but then Andrew looked at the room to the left of him and thought he saw what they described. He mouthed to us that he was going to go into the room. He came back out a minute later crawling on the floor looking weird but not wanting to get seen.
"Did you find it?" I whispered to Andrew. He didn't know what I said at first so I said it again and he nodded.
Max who could see kara whispered to her that we could go now. So she slowly got out but unfortunately they saw her and we all ran outside.
"Let's go." I said a bit to loud.
We all started to run away from the two men. They weren't as fast as us and Andrew made the ground corrupt where they were by hitting the ground really hard. We stopped running after almost a mile and started walking.
"What did you guys find?" Kara asked.
"They talked about something that looked like this. We don't know what it is though" Andrew replied showing her the thing.
"Oh, ok."
"Andrew," Max said, "Can I look at it? I think I remember my dad talking about something that looks like this."
"Sure."
Max looked at it, he place his fingers on it and turned it observing it probably trying to see if there is a button on it.
"Do you see anything?" I wondered.
"Well there's a red and blue button and white streaks going through it. Here you look at it. You're the one who's the technopath."
"Ok." He handed me the device. As I held it a hologram showed up.
"Wha-?" I said.
"What?" They all said.
"Don't you see that?"
"See what?" Andrew said.
"There's a hologram. It's showing some options for something."
Kara looked like she was trying really hard to see it but couldn't.
"Yeah, I don't see anything." She said.
"Oh. Here you hold it."
"Ok." I handed it to her and she repeated herself, "I still don't see anything." She handed it back to me.
"Well I do see something. Maybe It's made so that only I see can see it."
"Maybe." Max said.
"You guys do believe that there is a hologram or something right? Just that only I'm seeing it."
They all said yes but I could tell that they weren't fully confident about it but still was open to the possibility.
"Hey Kara? Are we close? I want to ask my parents something." I said after five minutes of walking quietly.
"Yah, were less than a quarter of a mile. We should be back in 10 minutes or less."
"Ok. Thanks."
She smiled then said, "You're welcome." I needed to ask my parents about this whole thing. I just couldn't wrap my head around it all without confusing my self. I also wanted to play around with this thing there must be something on it or else they would have gaven it to us.
"Do you guys wanna race the rest of the way?" I asked we all looked at eachother and said, "you're on." Almost in unison.
"I'm going to beat you." Andrew said sprinting. I think we were a minute or two away by now.
