Cabals goal was the ape clan leader. If he could somehow assimilate the guy , and take his place with his transformations skill he would then have absolute control over the semi giant ape clan.
But it wasn't going to be easy. At his current level, unless he somehow killed the ape clan chief , it wasn't possible for him to devour it alive. And killing him was out of the question.
Sigh , it's so sad to be weak.
That's why he had created this magnificent poison sample. When the Phoenix told him of the task she was assigning him, the first thought that entered his mind was 'why the heck hasn't anyone tried to assassinate the fool. '
Then it hit him.
Coupled with the apes prodigious strength, which would allow them to resist most poisons, no one had really considered it. This wasn't the modern world , where if you wanted someone dead, even someone important *cough * like a really great scientist *cough* , you could hire a professional assassin to get things done.
In this world, that followed the primary laws of the jungle -where strength makes right-, and especially in a monster society, they didn't consider such things.
That's why he'd spent his time at Vespa preparing the most toxic poison he could. Although not a hundred percent confident in his concoction , he was still sure it could weaken the guy significantly for him to do the deed.
Hopefully .
The problem right now was finding a way to get close to the guy. After all , he is a clan leader. Not just anyone can approach him. And , over this period of time, he is come to the conclusion that the ape he'd eaten was high enough.
In fact , apart from the ape chiefs immediate family members consisting of his wife and only child , almost no one has the required access to him that would meet his demands.
That means.... it's time to kill an ape prince.
.....…
Although Aristas didn't have as much potential as his father , he was still greatly loved. Not only because of his caring and understanding personality , but also because he'd learnt to exhibit the love that his parents had showered him with from a young age.
As the only son of Mong Kong , he was the one and only heir of the ape clan. He was raised to be a strong but wise leader. Given opportunities that even his father hadn't had access to whilst growing up. All so that he could be the leader his people needed.
And Cabal was going to destroy all that. He felt bad but , oh well. No one told them to get involved.
Aristas lived to the east of their new home. Apparently the young prince had wanted to get some space away from us parents so that he could learn to be independent.
Wrong move my friend. Wrong move.
It wasn't particularly hard to kill him.
Firstly , he memorized the guys day schedule for the next 3 months. Studied all of his bodyguards attitudes and patterns , likes and dislikes.
It took him he better half of his stay with the apes but he was finally ready to move.
Aristas has here main guards who watched over him all the time.
For his plan to work, they needed to be taken out of the equation. He got Risar , the pretty Rainbow colored female ape that Jimi , the brown colored colluded muscular ape liked to ask him out.
Then , he gave Kiliar - a grey balled ape some slight food poisoning so that he wouldn't be avsilab when he struck. As for Taar , he had to knock him out , while pretending to challenge him to a wrestling contest( the apes really love to wrestle).
Finally , with that done , the coast was clear. He snuck into Aristas house - a construct made of wood , vines and stone , and waited until he came back.
Using a sneak attack , he transformed into a sonic bat , and used a sound attack to stun him. After which he used some of the synthetic poison hat he'd prepared before hand to land the finishing blow.
It was quick, clean and painless. A fitting death for a monster. And what was more , he would have the time to go through the young princes mannerisms so that he'd be able to perfectly imitate him.
It was foolproof. There was no way for anyone to find out what was going on before it was too late. It was now time for the final touch.
The ape chief lived with his wife at the center of their clans territory. In a gigantic , castle like structure. There place was forbidden to anyone other than the chiefs immediate family. Meaning , unless he came out of there personally , there only other way to contact him was by going to the prince.
Cabal , in the body of Aristas made his way over to the 'den' - the sleeping chamber of the dead princes father , within his home.
The old chief laid down in what can only be described as a mattress of leaves , old bones , filth , and ..... you know what , it'd be better not to talk about it.
Are all monsters this disgusting.
The chief was covered in scars , all as white as his own fur , but his eyes were still filled with the passion of battle that made his breed so desirable.
Mong king sat up as his skin approached, a quizzical look in his face as he faded him. "What brings you here my boy. "
His wife had gone out , going to set the other married females in their tribe to help settle marital problems, leaving only the two of them alone.
"Father , would you please walk with me. I have matters to discuss twitch you. Matters that weigh heavily on my mind. "
The old ape reluctantly rose form his bed and went after his son, as Cabal, using the princes memories began to recount. "Father, how long must we remain here , on the Great ones orders. Our ancestral home deep within the mountains gathers dust even now without our tribe to occupy it. Even now , I am filled with doubt. Doubt that we will ever return home..."
Whilst they talked , he subtlety led the chief towards a nearby forest. Before he realized , they were already deep within , and he was behind him.
"My son , I have heard all of your concerns. And I too have had my doubts -"
Cabals ape hand transformed into a beasts claws , already coated with the synthetic poison. "-But we must trust in the great one. Look to him for guidance ..."
He never got to finish his sentence as Cabal run his claws through the guys neck and backed away. Letting the poison do not of the work. He sighed with pity as the ape chief turned around , shock apparent on his face as he cast an accusatory look at his son before collapsing.
He died soon after.

Cabal didn't even pay attention to the notifications , as his heart was still heavy from what he'd just done.
Finally. With another sigh , he got ready to initiate phase three.
