The werewolf king sent a burly , dark skinned half naked man out. Although he looked look young , he had a very dangerous air to himself. Adding on the scars that decorated his chest like medals , most people would be afraid.
With a low growl , he werewolf in human form released a massive amount of magical energy. When Salazar sensed the power , he nearly cried out from shock.
He'd spent quite sometime with the dwarves and so he was somewhat familiar with their strength. Apart from the king and his advisor , no one among his subordinates could match this single shapeshifter.
He glanced at Dwarven, and for the first time , saw a little intimidation on his face.
The werewolf king roared with laughter. "Yeah, that's my boy. You make your daddy so proud ," the alpha stroked the guys mangy hair when he came to stand at his side.
Salazar cocked an eyebrow, and looked towards the advisor. "What's-"
"- That werewolf is Mongrels adoptive son , after his biological one died defending the borders of the Phoenixs territory from outside invaders. "
Salazar frowned. He more he heard about , the more questions he got. Isn't the Phoenix one of the strongest monsters around. Who would dare antagonize her , and why.
He shook his head and proceeded with his next question. "If you guys want to determine a power system amongst yourselves, why not have the leaders fight each other. It should be faster that way , and the battle would allow them to carefully assess each other. Isn't that better than what you're doing right now. "
Mongrel- the werewolf alpha left ear twitched and he glanced at Salazar shooting him an incredulous smile. The smile seemed to say 'boy you're so stupid. '
Ishtar shook his head. "The Phoenix queen considers each of her subordinates as equals , and as such , has forbidden infighting. Moreover , each of them are connected to her through a spell , and can therefore draw in a specified amount of her strength, so she is able to tell what they're doing and where they are at all times. Meaning they cannot go behind her back. "
Salazar nodded. "That was actually a very useful spell to keep people in line. He wondered if he could convince the Phoenix to teach it to him once he gained her support. After all, someday in the future , he would become the king of all monsters.
Whilst he was lost in his thoughts , the elves had already had their turn. Their participant , a blonde haired female elf also exhibited , massive , refined amounts of magical power, though it wasn't as much as Mongrels kid.
A bird of prey went next. A three winged flame whisperer stepped forward. It's magical power was just barely below the werewolves, surpassing the elves.
At this juncture, it could be said that the ranking has already been established.
1. The werewolves
2. The birds of prey.
3. The elves
4. The dwarves.
Being the weakest people, they didn't even have to test for them to rank at the bottom.
Dwarven sighed and pointed at a dwarf. The young man tried to resist, but in the end , he had no choice but to step forward.
However , before he could release his power , Mongrel interrupted. "Hold In. We all know that your people are weak. Everyone here knows the strength of every single member of your group. Every never , apart from that guy. "
He pointed at Salazar , who felt his eyes widen. Me. Why does he want me to step up. Anyway , I'm not even under Dwarvens sovereignty.
Dwarven frowned and opened his mouth to say something, but Ingnaus , the leader of the birds of prey nodded. "Mongrel does have a point. If this exercise will allow us to evaluate how strong our people have gotten over these past years , we need to test the strength of the new recruits , not those who have served you for many years , but made little to no improvements. "
Dwarven clenched his fist, finally revealing a trace of anger for the first time, but he was helpless. Although the others said nothing, it was obvious that they agreed, so he glanced at Salazar , using his eyes to beg him. After all , the golem didn't work for him so he couldn't force him to do anything.
But Salazar was hesitating because all those who had stepped forward more mana than him. They would still be ranked last.
Just hen , he received a new notification.
[Instant quest - Boost the dwarves reputation. ]
[The dwarf king is distressed at the way events are playing out. He wishes for you to step up and reclaim the tarnished honor of the dwarves.
Clear condition- win first place.
[Rewards -
1. Three favors from the royal family.
[You can request anything of the dwarven royal family and they will accomplish it to the best of their abilities.
2. Right to learn blacksmithery from the dwarf king himself.
Time limit - one hour.
Hmmmm. The rewards were actually quite tempting. The dwarves were the greatest blacksmiths in the world . And also the richest people. If he could learn blacksmithing as well as have them owe him a favor, it would be great.
With a sigh , he accepted the quest and stepped forward.
As he moved , he managed to catch what some of the people were saying. "A golem. It's mana output is probably even much worse than a dwarf. Mongrel is cruel. "
"I can't believe he accepted. "
"Is he an idiot. "
"Ahhh. Some people are just born stupid. You can't do anything about that....
But Salazar ignored them. When he was in front of Mongrel , he stopped and smirked.
[Skill activation- Immolate ]
[You have used [Immolate] ]
[All the essences stored in the food chamber will now be consumed (burned ) and converted to mana.
This is a racial skill he'd unique system skill he'd inlocked after his experiments in the dungeon. When he'd first opened the good chamber, he wanted to see how it worked , so he experimented with it a little bit. Filled it the brim , waited for it to empty out , calculated how much essence was required for it to fill , and then , when he'd tried forcefully consuming the essence, the Immolate skill had come out.
A massive magical storm swirled around him , so dense that it put Mongrels sons own to shame. The storm kicked up dust and lava stones into the air.
Mongrel and the other subordinate heads looked on in shock , particularly , Mongrel.
"This is impossible. You're cheating somehow. Yeah, that's it. The dwarves much have created something that would allow you to boost your mana output. 'Cos there's no freaking way that you're so powerful. "
He crouched. "If you won't say the truth then I guess I'll help you," however before he could move , there was a loud whooshing sound , and pure fire poured down like rain towards the ash grey throne.
The moment the two touched , the dirty , old throne was seemingly transformed. It became like a throne of molten lava. Fire burst out from it , taking in many unique and beautiful shapes.
And sitting on the throne was a beautiful petite girl who didn't look older than 16 , glaring at all of them with eyes that burned with fire.
