Inside the river twine forest , Velex was currently running through the trees following the river towards Carven town. Most of the journey had been uneventful, he hunted wild animals and had also ran into sum grey wolfs.
Yet he didn't save their pelts as they would slow him down, and at the moment even if he could make money he had nothing he could use it for. He decided when the need arrive he would deal with it at that time. He also still had more then 30 gold coins left, for the town this should be enough to look around since it wasn't sum major city or anything.
It would take him about 6 days travel even if he spent most of the day running, he couldn't fully exhaust himself as he didn't know what dangers could be in front of his journey. The first 2 days went by quickly enough, he had noticed by now that the grey wolf no longer benefited his body as they used too. Yet the energy in his body grew daily , although slowly progress was good too feel.
On the third day of his journey he ran into a small conflict, their was a small caravan being attack by some bandits in very poor looking leather armor. They were using swords and axes, sum bandits sat on top the trees using worn old bows.
The caravan wasn't anything special either, yet their force was considerably better equipped. if not for the bandits in the trees, the caravan wouldn't be in this situation in the first place. Although Velex had read up a few items in maken village and knew these situations weren't rare. He still didn't feel like aiding these humans, even if he could save them now who would save them the next time? Beast fought for their right to live , its only right for these humans to do so as well. Velex would rather not bring any unnecessary attention to himself, someone of his particular appearance wasn't hard to distinguish.
The battle was pretty uneventful as the bandits at the front held the caravans forces in a stale mate the bow mans would take them down. He watched for a few more moments then slowly left unnoticed, whatever fate those 2 groups had ahead were not his problem. the rest of the day went as usual, hunting, running, eating and sleeping.
On the fourth day he woke up as usual, yet as he was washing up in the river he notice 1 small blue lightning symbols growing under his 2 original golden lightning symbols. 'Hopefully they don't grow over my whole body like the lightning tiger' he would be hard press to not catch sum unwanted attention about their origin.
he quickly put the thought at the back of his mind, he was making good time and was sure he could reach carven town with 1 day and a half if he kept his routine. he had been able to pass pretty safely thanks to his body natural instinct that kept him away from higher dangerous beast, he had seem some unlucky human bones here and their.
The wilderness wasn't kind, humans were natural weak when it came to their physique. although being able to have the body of a beast aided him greatly, the heavy burden the lightning tiger had left him wasn't easy on his mind. The rage that moved through his body was irritating to deal with. he hoped that as his body and soul grew he would be able to completely suppress them. He left the river and moved forward.
While Velex was immerse in his thoughts, his instinct spiked and made him move to the side instantly. There was a small dent on the ground were he just was , and on top was a large beast it was a snake like creature. It had dark green scales along its long body its underbelly was a shade lighter, it was only 6ft in width but 20ft long with 2 red eyes. the snake creature hissed at its prey in annoyance. To its surprise this strange human had been able to escape its ambush, all humans it had hunted in the past had die without fail.
Velex stood a few meters away from the snake beast, although it had almost gotten him with its ambush. in a frontal fight it didn't seem too strong, Velex and the snake stared each other down for a few minutes.
Velex's patience's soon gave out , he wouldn't rush the snake as it would most likely use its body to try to restrain him. his goal was too see if he could damage the snakes body, he circled around the snakes grabbing the sturdiest and largest stones he could find to fling at its body. although the snakes was annoyed and hissed furiously as the stones hit its skin, they broke after touching its skin. This wasn't a bad sign to Velex as he could use his nails to break these stones, yet he decided that this fight wouldn't benefit him.
He threw a few more stones at the snakes and made a dash to escape, not taking his attention of the snake. Not surprisingly the snake acted in those moment, it coiled its tail and used the pressure to jump at Velex. within 3 seconds the snake had reached him, but he didn't panic he was ready and as his feet glowed in golden blue light as he side stepped, not forgetting to slash out with his nails.
In the first exchange although he was able to pierce the snake beast body, he had made a 4 inch deep with a foot long cut Yet on its large body it didn't seem all that bad.
by now the snake became wary of Velex as he had actually wounded its body, yet again Velex attempted to flee. This time the snake didn't try to pursue him, it would rather wait to ambush easy prey then deal with an enemy that could wound it. Velex was relived with this outcome, he wasn't sure what could happen while he tried to fight the snake beast or if his current energy would be enough to kill it in the end.
he was slightly disappointed that he couldn't beat the beast, if he actually thought about it. technically he was just above 4 years old although with the mind of a young teen and the sum of the wisdom of the lightning tigers memories guiding him. who knew how long that snake beast had hunted in the river twine forest. he was truly bitter for no reason, yet he didn't dally and kept making his way towards Carven town.
The rest of the journey was smooth, he had paid more attention this time, incase he had another run in with a snake beast or an ambush style predator. He soon saw the dirt road to his right past some fields. At first these dirt roads were rather shabby, but as he got closer to Carven town the dirt road became larger and better managed. In the the distance he could see the siloute of the town. As he got closer he could see sturdy and strong wooden walls, with a large gate at the center. there were a few carts in line waiting as well as other travelers on foot. He soon approach the back of the line, with no surprise most of the people their shot him a curious glance. It was around noon the sun was blazing, yet the line move at a good pace. he could see the most people just paid sum sort of entry tax and went about their day.
soon his turn came up, a large man 6.2ft tall and a sturdy build in a decent set of leather armor greeted him at the gate. "Welcome to Carven Town, entry is 10 coppers traveler" without any delay Velex gave him the money and walk past the gate. Although the gate guard gave him a wary look, he let him pass in the end as he didn't seem to be carrying any weapons.
Velex didn't ask for directions, he would just go inside the first inn or tavern he could fine.
As he went inside what came into view where tall strong wooden buildings, the streets were made out of stone in the middle with carved dirt paths. In the distant were a few stone like structures, they were sure to be important places. although the street where buzzing with life, it was by no means hard to navigate. He made his was down the street looking for an inn or tavern.
