I've been away from work lately and now I'm at work, my table is stacked up with lots of paperwork. Also, I got a busy schedule, meeting after meeting.
It serves me right though, for neglecting work for so long.
I've been thinking of the bewildering event for the season, the month of love. It's gonna be one of a kind.
I need to rub minds with my employees, so I called a meeting. I picked up the wireline on my desk and called Jessy to schedule a meeting in the conference room.
I know my idea is awesome but like they say, two heads are better than one.
The meeting started at 4pm after the day's work. I gave a brief speech about what I thought of earlier.
"Sorry everyone for the inconvenience, I just wanted to share my idea with you. As we all know, Valentine's Day is imminent and I expect the best for the Camellia Empire's runway show. We should offer a different style of fashion for this month of love. Couples should showcase what love is about with their attire and we can make that happen. So, in the next few hours, I want y'all to brainstorm and bring ideas."
There were murmurings in the room, and it seemed to me that they were truly rubbing minds.
One of the managing directors called the employees' attention. "Attention everyone, I'd suggest us to have our fashion show on the 13th, sign a contract with one of the best modelling companies. I have one in mind already…"
By the time he was done talking he looked at me expecting a reply.
"That was a good Mr. Clarkson. Email the details after this."
When the meeting was over, I apologized again for extending work hours. They didn't see anything wrong in that 'cause they are really loyal to their work. I credit their hard work indeed.
I'm really exhausted and famished, I've got to go home to cook.
I was about to get in my car when I heard someone call out my name.
"Leona, Leona! Please wait." Jessy ran towards me, then she stopped to catch her breath.
Gosh! Who knew she was athletic.
"Jessy, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be heading home?"
"I just wanted to tell you something I thought, about the runway show."
Wait she was at the meeting? I didn't see her. She didn't talk at all.
"Jessy, was that why you ran all the way here? Well, let me hear you out but make it brief, it's pretty late."
She talked for some minutes and surprisingly, her idea was brilliant.
"Jessy, that's a brilliant idea. Why didn't you say it in the meeting? Scratch that, we'll talk later, just email me a report. Get home safe. Bye." I said waving at her before getting in my car.
Jessy got some potential. It's sad how she didn't get her dream job but she's doing just fine as my personal assistant. She's the only friend I made after I left the orphanage.
When I got home, I made lasagna and roasted chicken with cool watermelon juice. It's a lovely evening and I'm anticipating the weekend, not 'cause it's Valentine but 'cause I get to sleep.
I ain't got a lover… my bed would be my lover and we'll have a fun time together.
