"Hey, wake up. It is already 8 in the morning," Lyte could hear a feminine voice in a distant. He felt someone gently shook his shoulder at the same time, most probably by the owner of the voice. The voice sounded so familiar yet so strange that made him unable to place a finger on who the owner of the voice was. Instead of getting up after getting woken up like a normal and mature adult, he responded to the voice the lamest line ever, "Wait... 5 more minutes, mom."
"Lyte, I am not your mother. I am not even that old. Get up now, your breakfast is going to get cold," the voice replied calmly.
This caught Lyte's attention as he immediately snapped his eyes open. Then he quickly closed them when the sudden brightness of the room momentarily blinded him. He saw Snow before he closed his eyes, standing beside his bed, all freshen up. She was wearing a similar out to the night before. Seemed like she woke up way earlier than him.
"Good morning, Lyte. How did you sleep last night?" Snow asked out of courtesy as a hostess.
"Morning, Snow. I slept fine. I am so sorry about just now, I'm not really a morning person," Lyte replied, scratching his head even though it was not itchy.
"It is fine. Just get up, I made breakfast and they are getting colder by the second. Plus, it is already 8 in the morning,"
"Ok. You go ahead, I'll catch up later,"
"Lyte, you do not know where the dining area of my mansion is. If I leave, you will be lost. I do not want a corpse in my mansion because my guest starved to death after getting lost and was unable to find the dining room,"
"Oh... Right. Well, I need to freshen up first, so why not you wait for a sec, if it's not too much trouble that is,"
"Sure, here. Some new clothes for you, a toothbrush and some toothpaste. Go freshen up," Snow said as she handed him a set of neatly folded clothes along with dental cleaning items.
Lyte quickly walked into the connected bathroom to freshen up. He took a quick shower, changed into his new clothes and his own shoes, brushed his teeth and tried to make his hair seem as neat as possible. Snow gave him a moss green long sleeved t-shirt along with a pair of black slacks and white socks. Just like the previous night, the clothes were tailored to his size perfectly.
He came out of the bathroom, all freshen up to see Snow reading a book while waiting for him.
"Sorry for the wait, Snow. I hope I didn't take too long. Umm, where should I put the nightwear?" Lyte wanted to take the first move and tried to start a conversation.
"Just take it with you. I tailored those with magic last night for you so they will not serve a purpose if kept here. And don't worry, you did not take long. Come on, let us go to the dining area now," Snow simply replied and got up.
She led Lyte through hallways after hallways until finally, they reached the dining area where a sweet fragrance awaited them.
Just like the rest of the house, even the dining area amazed Lyte. The table was made of white marble with a thick glass covering the top of it. The chairs were like the ones found in cafés, with designed back rests and cushions on the seats. The ones in front of Lyte looked more expensive though.
On the table was their breakfast. Two plates stacked high with about five waffles were on the table. The waffles had small berries decorated all over it. There were also two cups of black coffee on the table beside the waffles.
Lyte took a seat while Snow took a seat across from him.
"Wow, they smell amazing. Did you make them?"
"No. An evil garden gnome sneaked in this morning and made us poisoned breakfast, "
Snow's reply caught Lyte off guard. He did not know Snow can joke around too. Snow gave him the impression that she does not goof around but rather preferred to take things seriously. Lyte decided to play along with his new friend.
"Oh dear. We could die if we eat this? Hmm, what to do in this situation?"
"What to do indeed? What do you propose we do, my guest?"
"After some serious contemplation, I think I have made the right decision. I shall eat everything on the table alone. If they were poisoned, only I shall face the consequences,"
"Then what about me? I still need to have breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day and I cannot miss it,"
"Fair lady. If I survived long enough, I swear in the name of these delicious meal that I shall treat thau to a fine breakfast in any nearby café. If that is okay with m'lady that is,"
"Okay, let us stop this nonsense. Eat up before your breakfast becomes cold,"
"Whatever thau request, m'lady,"
Lyte chuckled while Snow looked like she was entertained. They both finished up their breakfast without saying another word.
When they finished, Snow escorted Lyte to the main door. Snow even gave him some food to bring with him on his journey which he happily accepted.
As they were saying their goodbyes, Lyte remembered what the Greek Gods told him last night in his dream. He decided to do just that.
"Umm, hey, Snow. This might sound like a weird request, but can you join me in my journey? I had a dream last night where the Greek Gods were telling me to request for your acquaintance in completing my quest, as unbelievable as it seemed. So can you?" Lyte asked awkwardly. He knew he sounded very bizarre at the moment and any sane person would think he was crazy.
"Umm, you don't have to if you don't want to, Snow. It was just a silly dream I had. I will just take my leave now. Thank you for everything, Snow," Lyte wanted to dig a hole and bury himself six feet underground. He felt so embarrassed.
That was when Snow began to speak.
