Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 : Snow's Decision

As Lyte continued his journey, all alone. He started to rethink about what just happened.

At the main door of Snow's mansion, there Lyte and Snow bided each other goodbye. Lyte requested for Snow's companionship in his quest to find the cursed Wind Goddess Statue, this was her response after some thoughts.

"Hold on, Lyte. I have some very important errands to run as a reapress today. I cannot just quit my job all of a sudden, it will cause complications among the other reapers and respresses,"

"I-I understand, Snow. I'm sorry I asked. I know you must be a very busy person. Obviously you are since you're a reapress and all,"

"Lyte, wa-"

"I will just take my leave now,"

"Lyte, list-"

"It's fine, really. I mean, it was just a silly dream,"

"Ly-"

"I mean, there is no way the Greek Gods could have contacted me through my dreams. Gods only send messages through dreams to prophets. I'm just a common folk. Sure I'm the Griffin but it's still not a valid reason to send me a dream,"

"…"

"Umm, so yeah…"

"… Lyte, let me ta-"

"You do not need to feel bad, Snow. Really. It just came to my mind. I am so sorry for troubling you. You're a great hostess. I'm just going to take my leave now, okay?"

There was a long silent pause. Lyte waited for Snow's response while Snow waited to confirm that Lyte had finally stopped his senseless blabbering to allow her a chance to speak. Snow concluded that Lyte was done and she started to speak.

"… May I speak now?"

"Y-yes. Sorry, that was very rude of me. I should have let you talk. I am so sorry. I'm not usually like this. I-"

"Hold it, Lyte! Let me speak. You are doing it again,"

"Oh, I am so so-"

Lyte stopped as something fell on his head. The foreign object was stuck on his head and disrupted part of his vision. It did not seemed to be dangerous as it was quite soft. Lyte calmed down and removed the object from his head. He was surprised at what the object was.

"A flower ring? But that's impossible. How is there flower in the Dead Forest?"

Lyte looked up in confusion and saw something he had never thought could be possible. There, flying above him, was a lime green floral fairy. The fairy looked at Lyte, annoyed.

"Let Lady A-"

"Ahem!" Snow suddenly called out, stopping the fairy from finishing that word. The fairy noticed her mistake and quickly apologised

"Oh, my apologies. Let Lady Snow speak! Stop blabbering like an idiot!"

Lyte was still not over the shock that a such a creature was there. He just kept looking back and forth between the feisty fairy and Snow. He was only able to respond with 'wha-', 'how the-' and such.

"Lyte, I know you must be very confused. Let me explain everything to you. I would greatly appreciate it if you will let me finish this time, please," Snow interrupted Lyte's malfunction moment.

"Ok, I will. I promised I will not disturb your speech. Go ahead, I am so sorry abo-"

"You are doing it again!" the fairy yelled as she threw a purple flower at Lyte's face.

Lyte covered his mouth with both his hands, indicating he would no longer speak until Snow is done. Snow took that as finally her chance to speak.

"Thank you. Now, first thing's first, you must be confused as to why a floral fairy is doing here in the Dead Forest. Let me introduce her to you. Lyte, meet Fifa. Fifa, meet Lyte. Fifa lives in the indoor garden of my mansion. I know fairies usually live together but Fifa appreciates having her own garden. She mostly lives here and will sometimes return to visit her family with my accompany out of this forest."

Lyte nodded his head while making a realisation expression. Snow continued what she had to say.

"Secondly, about your offer to go with you. You did not let me finish. I said I could not just leave my work all of a sudden, but I can request for a momentary leave today, after I am done with today's errands of course. When I am done, I will go find you to join you in your quest. You go ahead with your quest without me first. I can catch up and find you easily. I am a reapress after all. Now you may speak,"

"Oh, I am sorry I didn't let you finish. I'm so glad you are okay with joining me. Thank you very much. This means a lot to me. The dream I was talking about might not be true but having a friend along in my quest is always nice. I guess I will see you later then?"

"Yes, I will see you later too. You need to walk straight that way to get out of this forest. It might take a while since it is quite far. But heed my warning. Do not stop until you exit the forest for any reasons at all. Even though it is morning, there are still many dangerous creatures lingering in the forest. Take care and goodbye," Snow said as she pointed towards the east of the mansion.

With that, Lyte waved Snow goodbye and walked to the pointed direction. After taking about 20 steps, Lyte looked back to see Snow no longer there. She had already left for her work. That was fast. Lyte thought to himself.

Lyte continued his way out of the accursed Dead Forest. On his way, he did not see anything abnormal which he found very weird, it was the Dead Forest after all. But he decided to just walk it off, literally.

After 45 minutes of walking in a straight line, he heard a loud scream coming from the area to his left. He decided to leave the trail he was on to check out the source of the scream. If someone was in trouble, he wanted to help. At that moment, Snow's warning was completely out of his mind.
