Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Lloyd

I should have done this earlier, but the first time we met, I never got the chance to properly introduce myself.

I'm Lloyd Maps. Originally from Cape Town, where my family still lives. I'm a businessman. My father was killed by his enemies—since he was a gangster. I guess I inherited some of those traits because now, my mission is to find and eliminate whoever was responsible for his death.

I was in Johannesburg at Chris' place, finalizing a deal with the Russians. It was a huge deal—we made a lot of money. Of course, I took some of Chris' share without him knowing.

Now, I know you're all wondering what my mission is with Zee. Well, she's my ticket to breaking Chris. Right now, she means the world to him.

I spoke to my mom yesterday—she's hosting a dinner party and asked me to come back home. I invited Zee to go with me as my partner, and she agreed. Of course, nothing comes for free—I had to pay her. I even bought her a long, black pencil dress, fully open at the back, matching perfectly with my suit.

With nothing to do, I decided to check up on Chris. He picked up on the third ring.

"Broh, what's up? Hope you ain't messing with my girl."

"You mean Mom's favorite daughter-in-law? Damn, bruh, she's sexy as fuck. Her sex game is on point."

"Thanks for the update. Hope you're enjoying yourself… And you should watch out."

Then he hung up. Was I surprised? Not really. I just had no choice but to make Zee mine. I tried calling Chris back, but he never answered.

I went to the kitchen, poured myself some whiskey, and sat in the dining room. I must have dozed off because when I woke up, I was covered with a blanket. It was already 10 AM.

After taking a bath, I realized I had no clean clothes—all my stuff in the car was dirty. Left with no choice, I wore Zee's gown and headed to the kitchen, where I found her making breakfast.

We ate while having a light conversation, and I asked her to escort me to the mall to buy some clothes.

"I'll only go if you wear that gown. It looks good on you, hey."

"What will people say, though, Zee?"

"Just look at you, man. You look fine." She bit her lower lip.

"Can you stop that?" She was turning me on.

I didn't know what to say. I just had to make her mine and deal with the Chris situation fast.

When we got to the mall—yes, I was still wearing the gown—I bought some clothes while Zee picked hers. Three hours later, we walked around as I showed her different places.

Back home, she helped me pack my clothes in the guest room. As we were finishing up, we heard a noise downstairs. We rushed down, only to find a light-skinned girl with her luggage. She was quiet, staring at me, then at Zee, who was smiling.

Zee pushed past me and ran to the girl, hugging her excitedly. They were talking like I wasn't even there until I cleared my throat.

"Zee, we were still busy upstairs." I gave her that lazy, seductive look.

"Babe?? Busy?? I guess I wasn't updated." The girl raised her brows, looking between us.

"Look, babe, this is Lloyd. And Lloyd, this is my best friend, Tebby."

"No, I'm Lloyd—her boyfriend. I guess we can all put it like that."

Zee burst out laughing. The two of them left me standing there and went upstairs.

I ordered pizza. When the delivery guy arrived, I stepped outside to get it. On my way back, I noticed a BMW X6 in the garage. Surprised, I went back inside and called them down to eat.

As we were tidying up, the doorbell rang again. Zee answered and returned with two medium boxes labeled Zara Store.

"It's for Mr. Maps," she said, handing them over.

I opened one—it was my suit. I handed Zee hers.

"It's for the dinner date," I told her.

Tebby looked at Zee in shock as Zee opened the box, her mouth dropping.

"This is exceptional. Wow, Lloyd. Even though I don't like dresses… damn."

"I'll take that as a 'thank you, babe.' So, I guess you like my choice?"

"No, I love it." She smiled.

"I can't wait to see how it looks on your beautiful body," I smirked.

Tebby finally spoke up.

"Wait… are you guys serious? Are you actually dating?"

Zee looked at me.

Us: "Yes… but not really."

Tebby raised her hands. "I guess I'll mind my business then."

"Well, we're going out for dinner since you decided to show up late," I told her.

"This seems pretty serious," she mused. "Anyway, Zee never updated me—Lloyd, how did you guys even meet?"

I wanted to lie, but I couldn't.

"A few weeks back. I was her cab driver… and her rescue from toxic people."

"Ouuuuh," Tebby smirked.

"Who dropped you here? And we should call Mom—I'm sure they're worried since we haven't called since you arrived," Zee suggested.

"Well, guess who's now driving a BMW X6!" Tebby squealed.

"Wait—so Mom and Dad bought you a car? Well, I'm jealous, friend. We have to take it for a spin before we go back to varsity."

"Most definitely, boo. Let's call Mom. They never even told us we'd be staying together—this is gonna be amazing."

"I guess this was the surprise they were talking about," Zee said, taking her outfit upstairs.
