Kai felt as though his mind was being assaulted by waves of overwhelming magical energy. It strained his already frayed mind to keep himself from being washed away by those waves.
The waves ate at his resolve for an unknown amount of time, and he held strong for as long as it battered away at him. By the time he could feel himself slipping, his mind finally frayed, the waves of energy lapping at him finally abated. Free from the mental battery, he was finally swallowed by darkness. This darkness lasted until he cracked open his eyes.
The first thing Kai saw upon opening his eyes was the dark ceiling of the room he had stayed in for some time upon arrival in the stone castle. He groaned and raised his arms to cover his eyes. The room was too bright for his eyes, although it was actually quite dark outside.
"I see you have finally woken up." Kasuyi leaned over him. "Glad to see you with us again. Although, you are a day later than I expected."
