Chapter 1 - Chapter One

BOOM!

A deafening roar rang through the air, and massive shockwaves shook the foundation of reality upon one of the many worlds in the known and explored universe. On that small, unexplored world, a grand battle was taking place.

The Sorcerer Supreme, Kasuyi, was fighting a battle for his life against his treacherous direct disciples that had betrayed and backstabbed him!

Not too long ago, Kasuyi began his attempt to ascending to the final step of the magical journey. The realm of Godhood. This process had required all his attention and ability, leaving his back exposed for the three disciples he had once thought were his most trusted aides. He had raised these three children from the very moment he found them, teaching them the mysterious ways of magic and guiding their ascension through the various realms. He never would have thought they would betray him.

Kasuyi was the only Demigod Class mage within the entire province that was overseen by his prestigious organization, the Red Robe Abbey. Even with that, there were only four other Demigod Class mages throughout the ten thousand worlds that existed on the central material plane.

And even with those other mages, none of them were as strong as he was. He was at the pinnacle! He was unchallenged! That was why he had gotten the moniker, The Sorcerer Supreme!

Yet, for all his name, he had allowed himself to be stabbed in the back by his Pseudo-Demigod Class disciples! It was incredibly demeaning, but it was too late to show any regrets. He had to fight for his life now.

WOOOOOOO!

The air howled in pain as a dense, scorching, ball of flame hurtled at the mountain where Kasuyi and the rest of his loyal subordinates fought against the traitors and their minions.

"Impenetrable Barrier!" Kasuyi raised his arms up high and cast a defensive spell. A dark blue shield of energy flickered into view, creating a collision between the gigantic fireball and the blue shield.

BOOOOOOOM!!!

Another massive shockwave spread out as the fireball exploded. The mountains halfway across the planet were flattened into rubble and dust by the shockwaves that spread out.

Kasuyi's shield held on strong, but as he focused on the shield, the injury that he had been suppressing suddenly pulsed, and ethereal, purple tentacles wrapped around his heart.

"Argh!" Kasuyi grunted and fell to his knees. He redirected his mana into suppressing the annoying Astral Demon, letting the shield fall away while he did. If he was going to suppress it, then he needed to focus all his mana on it. Even then, he might still fail. His injuries were too severe, and with the Astral Demon feeding on his soul, his options were all cut off.

"Dammit! There is no way this is just their doing. Another Demigod must be targeting me..." He thought to himself. "I will at least take you down with me!" Kasuyi spat a mouthful of blood before raising up his staff. The crystal on the top of the staff glowed as mana ran through it.

"Destroyer's Rain!"

The glow of the crystal pulsed rapidly before dimming. It seemed as if nothing happened at first, but people's eyes were soon drawn to the sky. The clouds had long since been eradicated, so it was very easy foe everyone to see the dozens of massive asteroids that were descending from within chaotic space.

Violent streaks of lightning and plumes of fire were wrapped around the mass of the asteroids as they descended towards the battlefield.

"As for you, my loyal subordinates." Kasuyi turned to the mages and warriors that still supported him. He looked at those that were injured, and those that were still fighting. Luckily, none of them had died... yet.

"You all... Thank you for your service. But it is my time. You have yet to reach your full potential." Kasuyi raised his staff once more. "Divine Sage, find a worthy soul to give my staff and my treasure. I will see you on the other side..."

"God's Wander!"

The space around Kasuyi and his loyal subordinates shifted and twisted. It took less than a second for them to disappear, along with the entire mountain where they had held their battle, leaving the world that as about to be ravaged by the unstoppable asteroid shower.

"Are you shocked? Are you surprised?" Kasuyi cracked a bitter smile in the last moment before he and his loyal underlings were teleported off the world.

.

.

On a distant world that resided at the edge of the territory belonging to the Red Robe Abbey, there was a flash of godly light, and hundreds of people appeared out of nowhere. Those people were those who had stood on Kasuyi's side after the betrayal. The injured had been healed, and those who were tired had their energy restored. Their pale cheeks were flushed and rose, and they felt the best they had ever been.

"Where are we?" Someone asked.

"No idea."

"Wait... This is Winterfell." Another person spoke up.

"Where is His Excellency Kasuyi...?"

Questions of Kasuyi's whereabouts began ringing around, but no one was able to locate the man.

.

.

Kasuyi felt the remnants of his life force drain from his body as he drifted through chaotic space. His remaining mana was being broken down together with his soul by the Astral Demon, and he could no longer hold together the barrier that kept chaotic space at bay.

Luckily for him, by the time his barrier shattered, he had lost all feeling in his body, so he could not feel his body being broken down by the vicious and aggressive chaotic space around him.

'Is this how it ends? All my years of accumulation... All gone to waste. My Red Robe Abbey is finished. At least... I managed to save those young ones...'

Kasuyi's last thoughts drifted through his mind before a dim glow of light appeared within his Sea of Soul.

[You have met the requirement for a God tier spell - Life Tinder: Reborn.] A soothing, sonorous, voice whispered through his dimming mind.

'Hmm? God tier spell? Ah... What terrible timing.'

Those were Kasuyi's last words before his consciousness blinked away.
