Unlike usual, this chapter begins in an eerie dungeon. Despite the creepy feeling, the dungeon is quite well-kept and the room is fairly clean.
In the middle of the room, there is a lone chair that is pointed at, what seems to be, a live feed of Cambross Town. It is being projected on the wall via a bat-shaped monster.
In the chair, a man sits, very properly with one leg resting upon the other. Additionally, a shadowy figure stands behind him, stanced up and arms at either side.
The man can be identified by one outstanding feature, a long scar across his left eye.
The shadowy figure says,
"Another failure again, sire?"
The man responds,
"Unfortunately, yes... It seems as though this Razier Rosso did not live up to my expectations... Nevertheless, the show must go on. Prepare for departure."
The figure bows down while saying,
"Right away, sire!"
The projection disappears as the room fades to black. Returning to Cambross Town, Saiba gets a pop-up, different from the other two. It reads,
[Feature Get: Blood-Soaked. User's stats increase when fighting opponents that bleed]
Saiba thinks,
"Blood-soaked? Maybe that's 'cause I made Razier bleed when sliced him... I wonder what a feature is though... I guess I can ask Lily!"
Without warning, Saiba quickly loses consciousness and drops to the ground. Lily notices and runs towards him. Lazaro follows shortly after.
She lifts his head up and places it on her lap. Next, she takes a device, similar to a magnifying glass, out of her [Inventory] and points it at Saiba.
A pop-up appears in front of her as Lazaro frantically asks,
"Is he okay!? He's not dead right!?"
Lily reads the pop-up and answers,
"No, he's not dead. He's just exhausted and out of [Energy]. He should wake up in a few hours."
Lazaro lets out a sigh and says,
"Phew! That's a relief!"
From the village, two children run out towards the trio. It's Marco and Belliel running towards them with worried expressions. Marco shouts,
"Mister, miss! Is everything okay!"
Lily reassures them,
"Yeah, everything's fine."
They notice Razier and freeze. Marco stutters,
"B-B-B-Big-brother..?"
Their parents hurriedly trail behind them as Ms. Rosso exclaims,
"Marco, Bell! You can't just run off like that! It might still be dangerous!"
Quickly, they also notice Razier's corpse as they stand, in shock. Belliel runs over and shouts,
"I knew it! I knew it! It really was big-brother!"
Mrs. Rosso's eyes begin to tear up as Mr. Rosso tries to comfort her.
Marco slowly walks up to Belliel and places his hand on her shoulder. Belliel looks up as Marco nods disappointedly. She looks back and sees her mother crying.
Soon after, Mr. and Mrs. Rosso also approach the body as Mrs. Rosso bends down to get a closer look.
She picks up Razier's half-skeleton/half-human head and caresses it softly in her arms. She mumbles,
"Where have you been all this time?.. We thought you were dead... Why didn't you come visit?.. Why did you do this to yourself?.."
Mr. Rosso says,
"It's not your fault, mama... We did all we could to lead Razier down the right path..."
Mrs. Rosso replies,
"Did we!? Did we, as his parents, really do everything we could!? Someone has to take responsibility for this!"
Marco interjects,
"Mama, this person isn't Razier anymore... The big-brother I knew was a caring person and, even though he was weak, he never gave up and he would persevere through anything! The real big-brother I knew would never do something like this!"
Mr. Rosso suggests,
"We'll take care of Razier, you guys should get some rest. You can sleep in our house, make yourselves feel at home. It's the least we can do to repay you for, not only saving our children, but saving our village as well."
Lily nods and replies,
"Thank you very much."
Lazaro says,
"I can carry Saiba."
Lily nods in agreement. They walk away and into the village, leaving the Rosso family alone.
As they walk in, the silence is broken by cheers of villagers. They cheer for the trio and give thanks for saving their village.
The three continue into the Rosso's home and settle down there. Lazaro sets Saiba down as he and Lily proceed to fall asleep and collapse onto the floor, overwhelmed by their exhaustion.
They rest up for the remainder of the day, awaiting what will come tomorrow.
