Theseus and Amelia were waiting outside, their patience running out. The pair were just about to depart, but Noelle and Newt popped out of the case just in time.
"Hey, sister!" Amelia exclaimed.
"Hi…" she replied dryly.
"How are you feeling Newt?" Theseus questioned his sibling, hoping for a good sign.
"Better." he smiled at him. "Thanks for visiting! It gets rather lonely up here…" he sighed.
"What about me??" Noelle blurted out, "I'm here!" She felt like a ghost or a silhouette, slowly fading away from existence.
"I know you are. You're great company!" he smiled at her, his eyes twinkling, "It's nice to have family though…"
"Right…" Noelle muttered, blushing.
"Ooh!" Amelia giggled, "Someone has a lover!"
"Shut up," she mumbled. "That's nunya beeswax."
"Come on Ellie! I'm your sister, I have a right to know."
"DON'T CALL ME THAT! she shrieked, both the boys covering their ears. "I'm outta here." She stormed away from her sister, not looking back at Newt.
"Uh…" Newt hesitated, "Don't go!" he called out to her.
"Why not?" she said childishly, staring back at his blue eyes, hers watering.
"Because your time isn't up."
"It's gone way past!"
"I don't think so. What about all the creatures?" he stared longingly at her.
"They don't need me. They have you."
"Well, what do I have?" he questioned her, trying to give her a hint and hoping she would receive it.
"Your creatures and your brother. You said it yourself." she paused before repeating his words, "It's nice to have family though…"
"Well, I also said, "You're great company! Come on!" He opened his arms wide to embrace her.
She sighed greatly, contemplating his offer and weighing up the pros and cons. She knew that he wanted her and she wanted him. Her sister was here though and that was going to cause problems.
She didn't care.
Noelle raced over to Newt, crashing into his arms. A wave of relief and joy surged over them, the other two siblings at a loss for words. Noelle started giggling happily.
"Good Lord," she whispered to him, staring straight at his enchanting blue eyes, "You really are amazing." She held him even tighter.
"You too."
"How did you convince me?"
"When emotions run wild, you can only react in a positive way."
"Really?"
"No." he chuckled. "But I knew you would."
"I can't help but embrace the only man I may ever love." she smiled.
"Damn. That's deep," he muttered under his breath, looking quickly at the floor. He drew his gaze back to her and smiled.
The next minute, the two of them couldn't contain the passion they had for each other. The invisible seals that were plastered over their mouths finally burst open.
"YES!" Theseus thought as he continued to watch the two lovers, "He finally has someone to lean on."
Amelia was shell shocked, "I'll find love soon." she thought.
When they broke away, Newt whispered to her,
"Let's make our time worthwhile." He stroked his hand through her hair.
"Yeah," she replied, continuing to stare into his pastel blue eyes. They giggled lovingly before Newt lay back down on the hospital bed.
"I'm still unwell, remember?"
"I know." Without warning, she waved to him and swirled into nothingness.
"Bye," he muttered dreamily.
"Well, that was bizarre!" Amelia's sharp voice cut through the air like a knife.
He jumped out of his dreamy state.
"I don't think so," he replied.
"Oh yeah, it was! You? Snogging my sister? Unpredictable and bizarre."
"I don't think so," he repeated himself.
Theseus stared with awe, Well done. I now have a lovestruck brother."
"And I have a lovestruck sister."
"Well, Theseus." he paused, pursing his lips, "You're in love as well."
"Love overcomes us all at some stage." He countered.
"True," Amelia muttered.
"Well, I think that's all I have to say," Theseus stated. "Enjoy your day while it lasts." he whirled out of the room, leaving Amelia puzzled.
"I can't believe you are snogging my sister!" She broke the silence again with her sharp voice.
"Well, you better believe it," he replied. "Cos' it will be like this for a while, I hope."
"When I find love, my world's gonna change." She spoke out loud, secretly asking for Newt's opinion.
"Yup." he nodded, "It will."
"Now I understand why she feels that way. You are a nice guy. To friends and lovers." she nodded to him before disapparating out of sight.
He laughed loudly to himself, happiness and ecstasy consuming him. Leta burst into the room.
"What's happening?"
His laughter was cut short. "Nothing."
"Oh, there's something."
"I'm filled to the brim with ecstasy."
"And?"
"That's a good thing."
"Details?" A hint of desperation flowed through her voice.
"Oh, nothing much. Just…" he sighed before continuing, "An everlasting happiness."
"Wow." she spoke sarcastically, "All I asked for was the details! Why can't I have one simple favour?" she whined.
"If you just think harder, I've given you the answer!" he replied mysteriously, "I suggest you ponder on it." His words rang with a wise tone, much like Albus Dumbledore.
"Fine." she conceded.
After taking Newt's advice and pondering on the issue, pacing the room, she spoke,
"Is it love?"
"How'd you guess?"
"That's one of the ways to obtain everlasting happiness."
"Quite right. Now, what did you actually come here for?"
"Theseus."
"Oh. Right. See what I mean?" he winked.
"Yup. Now, where is he?"
"He disapparated away a while ago. That's all I know."
"Really?"
"Yes. Did you want to wish him luck or something else?"
"Both."
"He also came up here with Amelia Silverliner, one of the other Triwizard champions."
"God damn it! Did she look interested in him?"
"I would say to some extent."
"Did he look interested in her?"
"Not sure. I heard them talking outside. Amelia was out of breath and Theseus seemed happy. Amelia said to him, "God, you're good." I'm not sure what context she meant that in so don't jump the…" He was interrupted by Leta screaming.
"God damn it! He could've just told me!"
"I'm just saying, don't jump the…" Interrupted again.
"Just shut up will ya!" Her voice was attempting to calm itself down but Leta denied that and went into overdrive.
"JUST SHUT UP! Your opinion doesn't matter! I don't need your help."
"Fine," he said bitterly, closing his eyes and curling up in his bedsheets. "Have it your way."
She fled from the room, burying her head in her hands. The answer to the situation felt light-years away, but bumping into Theseus brought it a million years closer.
"Hi, Leta. What's wrong?"
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Trying to get with another girl?"
"What do you mean?"
"Newt told me all about it." Her revenge tasted sweet.
"Really? No. What did he say?"
"Amelia Silverliner went with you to the hospital wing."
"Yeah. And? We both went there because both our siblings were there."
"She said these exact words to you, "God. You're good."
"It wasn't in that context! We had a running race to reach the hospital wing and I won. That was all." The words flowed casually off his tongue.
"So that's what Newt meant…" she thought aloud to herself.
"What?"
"He told me not to jump the…"
"The… what?"
"I'll never know because I kept interrupting him out of anger and spite."
"I'll guess he was telling you 'not to jump the gun.'"
"Oh. That makes sense. He told me not to jump to conclusions. Newt is quite smart you know?"
"I know he is, but in what ways?"
"He said the first time we dated that, "Love makes you crazy," which is true." she paused, recalling the events, "And he also told me not 'to jump the gun,' just now. He's smart emotionally, even though he's shyest of all of us."
"True. True. His confidence is building tremendously, all thanks to Noelle." he paused, "Well, misunderstanding clarified?"
"Clarified." She giggled, reviewing her past mistakes in her mind as well as all the drama she's caused.
The pair walked off holding hands, with a new sense of what love causes.
Problems. Pain. Pleasure.
