AMY POV
I sit against my door trying to just calm down from this high that I get whenever I see the Captain. I have to find a way to act as normal as possible when I am around the Captain. I can not afford to run away every time he is in the room. I need to man up and start doing what I was brought here to do.
I will just avoid the Captain as far as I can and focus on my work. There are still many things to do and I need to get my department right should anything happen.
I stand up with determination not to fall so hard every time I see him. I take a deep breath and open my door, ready to face the world. I walk through the corridors on my way to medical, when one of the soldiers touch my shoulder.
"Ma'am? You are Dr. Michaels, right? You work in the medical bay?"
Wow, news really does travel fast. I did not know that anyone knew my name.
"Yes, that's right. How can I help you?"
"The Captain required assistance from someone of the medical bay as soon as possible on deck. Please, follow me right away"
Oh no, I was just saying that I would avoid the Captain and now they need me, of all the medical personnel on this ship, to go to the Captain.
"Are you sure that you need me? Isn't there some-"
"I'm sorry, ma'am, but you need to come with me right away"
I take a deep breath and then say unwillingly.
"Okay, I will meet you on the deck let me just get my first aid kit"
The soldier then nods his head, and then I make my way to the medical bay. As I get into the bay I see Lucy heading straight for me. I really do not have time for her right now and as she opens her mouth to speak to me, I just hold up a hand while grabbing my first aid kit.
"I am sorry, ma'am but I can not talk now. The Captain needs me on deck"
Maybe I should not have said that the Captain needs me because I could see how her face immediately turns bright red. I am positively sure that it was not because she was blushing but because she was angry. Then I just turn around and get out of there as quickly as possible.
I know if I stay any longer I might just get an earful from her. I walk as quickly as I can to the deck as I know that when the Captain requests you to be somewhere, you have to be there right away. In my training, they made it clear that what the Captain says is law.
I open the door to the deck and then I see him standing staring over the sea with a few fellow soldiers. I can not help feel his aura of power and authority as I start to walk closer to him. Because of this aura, I can not help feeling a little bit nervous.
I get close enough to him so that he can hear me and then I say.
"Captain, you requested me?"
ZAC POV
I do not know what to expect from this boat with these three people inside, just laying lifeless. I have seen a few things when I was out on sea but never did I get a boat with people not moving inside it.
I can not help feeling a little bit concerned as it can be many things but I do what I think is the right procedure and wait for medical to arrive. Then I hear a voice that sounds like the sweetest melody I have ever heard. I turn around and look into those captivating eyes.
I did not think for one second that when I requested medical to come to the deck that it could be her. My mind was not even thinking of her and here she is standing next to me. I can not help as a little bit of joy is injected into my heart just seeing her next to me.
"Uhm...yes, we are bringing three people on board and we would like you to do a check-up as they are not moving on the boat"
I watch as she walks closer to the railing of the ship to get a better look at the boat approaching the ship. Then she turns back to me and says.
"Of course, sir. I will set up over here if you could bring them to this side, please?"
I watch as she gestures to an area just a little bit away from the edge of the ship. I nod and say to her.
"We can do that for you. Thank you"
I watch as she starts to set up and I can not help but keep my eyes on the curves of her body that spells perfection. I need to focus on the task at hand and I have to force myself to look away. I turned to Peter next to me and tell him to move the bodies over to that side of the ship.
AMY POV
Every word that the Captain just told me sends shock waves down every vein in my body. I tried to act as normal as possible but I can not deny the thick attraction between us. Every time I have to open my mouth and talk back to the Captain, I have to focus really hard not to let my voice crack.
Then I excuse myself to set up a place away from the Captain so that he can not see the tremor in my hand. I am a surgeon and a tremor is not something that you should have. But the pure presence of this man drives me insane.
It takes a lot of concentration for me to set up and put on my gloves ready to do the check-ups. I talk to myself and say. Focus Amy, focus!
ZAC POV
As they bring the people on deck I bent down to search their bodies. Then to my other shock, I see they are one of us.
