Soon, night fell but we still weren't at the state line.
"Anyone getting tired yet?" Dad asked.
"Not me," I lied, letting out a big yawn. When I looked over, Colt was already asleep.
"There's just another hour to go to the Georgia state line," Stellan said, sitting on the other side of me.
"Why don't we stop in Georgia?" I asked. "We can make it that long. Then we can go to Disney tomorrow afternoon."
Dad sighed. "What do you think, Veronica?"
She looked over the seat at me and let out a deep breath. "The kids should be able to make it one more hour."
Dad nodded.
"How do you feel, Ryan?" Mom asked. "You okay to drive?"
Dad nodded. "I'm fine, but start looking for a hotel, just in case. I'll drive to just over the state line, but not any farther. Work took a lot out of me earlier."
