" Sam ! "
Suddenly a figure rushed out from the shadows and bowed in front of Elder Mark .
" We are going to have a long chat now so report to Elder Will that we have to postpone our little gathering to tomorrow. "
Sam was a middle aged man but his cultivation was good and Raven now felt the power of his Father in Law who had such an obedient and powerful subordinate under him . From Sam's eyes , Raven could not feel any deceit or unwillingness so he was sure that he was loyal to Father .
" Sigh .. Raven , you are giving me too much trouble young man . Tell me , did you two become a couple ? "
Raven and Daisy only nodded lightly . Daisy had a blush on her cute face while Raven only had a resolute look in his eyes . Elder Mark saw the light in Raven's eyes and felt a little relief because Raven seemed to have hardened his resolve to have a relationship with his little daughter .
Mark had no choice to accept Raven now as he had already found no problems with his character or talent . Raven was even a very intelligent person so he was capable of making right decisions too . Mark was actually impressed by the Fact that Raven came to see him immediately because he also knew that his daughter would have not made this decision with her personality .
" Elder Mark , I really had no idea that you were my new Father to be honest . It gave me a huge surprise. " Raven commented casually because his relationship with Mark was already at the level of new friends and he knew about Raven's direct personality too . Raven felt that it would be waste of time to think of some new ideas to convince his new Father now so he chose direct approach.
" I had much bigger surprise when you actually showed up with my cute daughter ." Mark replied with an unhurried tone while pinching the cute cheeks of Dausy causing her to frown a little .
" Daisy , leave the two of us for a while . It's time to have a man to man talk now . "
Mark ordered Daisy with a serious tone and looked at Raven like he was going to devour him alive . Daisy had no choice to leave as she knew the personality of her father very well . So she just playfully winked at Raven but could no hide her worried look from Raven who had lived 2 lives and had huge experience of interacting with many kinds of people . Raven on the other hand just waved his hand lightly and ensured her that everything was going to be alright .
Soon Mark and Raven were left alone in the unnecessarily huge study room and nobody spoke for a while .
" Raven , I'm actually not against your relationship . It's just that ... "
Mark finally decided to no hide the truth from Raven and told him the matters concerning the test of Western Region . Raven was surprised because he had no heard of such important matter which directly affected the prestige of the sect . He gradually understood that he was only an Inner Disciple yet so it was normal for him to not be informed about such matters even though he himself was supposed to be the selected disciple . Now the Floating Cloud Sect was like his home so Raven would of course ensure that its dignity was not trampled upon . Raven frowned upon the arrogance of the Western Region Sects which was fine because they were strong but he felt uncomfortable because he discovered a sense of inferiority in the tone of Mark .
Raven understood that it was inevitable because here the strongest person was only at Martial Peak Realm while in the Western Region , such experts were common . From the knowledge he gained from the inheritance , Raven knew about this fact which had not changed much despite that information being more than thousand years old .
Finally after an hour , Raven managed to convince Mark that he loved Daisy so even if he went to the Western Region , that fact would not change . Raven understood Mark's plight because he was a father and could not bear to see his daughter chasing the shadow of a man who was destined to travel far and his journey was unpredictable. Raven knew that he may die due to some unforeseen circumstances in future because the dangers in this world were uncountable especially for a currently weak individual like Raven . Raven could only promise Mark that his love for Daisy would never become less and he himself hardened his resolve to become stronger quickly because now he had 2 more people to protect .
Raven felt relaxed as even though he faced a surprise of Mark being his new Father but it turned out to be a blessing because he faced less interrogation and safely managed to get his blessings . Raven was prepared for a fight initially but it never came so the Pent up emotions immediately went away and Raven immediately collapsed on his chair feeling relaxed once again . He finally experienced the complex feelings of becoming a Son in Law but managed to gain a small Family in the end . So all is well that ends well .
