Finally the exam was over and Raven sighed in relief along with other disciples who managed to pass the test . Raven though was finally freed from boredom so he impatiently walked outside of the room and stood beside the 2 Elders who were now bickering with each other.
" Old Bastard , Raven is destined to become an Alchemist ! Don't you dare to cause any problems here as I wont be polite anymore .." the green cloaked Elder who was thin like a stick fiercely said to the other Elder who wore red cloak signifying him being the member of Forging Hall .
" Oh ? You dipshit actually dared to have such a genius for yourself ? You are courting death ! " This wrinkled old man who had strong arms and broad back actually started to rile up his qi like he was going to launch an attack soon .
Raven saw this ridiculous scene and could only curse the standards of the Sect which had deep heritage but actually used such uncivilized people as teachers . Raven had mild temper comparing to others in this world who quickly resorted to using force to solve matters but he was adapting to this system already unconsciously after tasting the taste of strength and seeing the unfair system of this world .
" You Old Men are really good ! To actually make me wait once again after leaving that bastard room and even daring to ignore me. Hmphf!! " Raven's words caused the Elders to pause and take a look at him . Because these words shook their hearts as they could feel that Raven imbued qi while saying those words.
They were afraid because from the fact that his qi managed to shake them . This only meant that Raven was stronger than them or at least his qi was much purer and stronger than theirs . The Elders wanted to say something but were soon forced to their knees by Raven's sheer aura which caused them to feel pressure like a sturdy mountain.
These Elders had the cultivation of 9th Level Martial Master and barely managed to become Elders of the Sect . Still most of their cultivation came from using pills and natural resources so they were weak like chicken . Besides Raven could already slaughter Level 3 Beasts who were even stronger so teaching a lesson to these frail cultivators was nothing to him .
Raven did not want to cause any more trouble as with his Divine Sense he could feel that a strong Aura had currently locked onto him . Raven knew that he would be attacked if he went further than this so even though he felt that he could defeat the owner of the aura , Raven still retracted his own aura because he did not wish to showcase his complete strength . It would cause him more trouble than benifits and was just not worth it .
" Hmphf! Thank that Elder who saved you two from further humiliation and think about the fact that you old people are teachers . I am ashamed of the fact that you two belong to the same Sect as me . " Raven said his words and left the area with large strides before flashing a glare at the area where the strong Elder was hiding in shadows . Raven could feel the killing intentions from that aura from before .
Raven was annoyed and did not release a bit of killing intent but that Elder showed such a strong killing intent and Raven had not even bothered him . Raven again lamented the fake arrogance of these people and silently crossed inside the pill refining room which was located just a little bit away from the examination room .
He finally met a good natured Lady Elder who wore the green Cloak but was more civilized. She transferred the reward sect points and gave a low level cauldron to him without speaking any unnecessary words .
Raven left the Pill Hall slowly carrying his cauldron and swore that he would not come to this place again , if he did not have any urgent issues .
Raven straight went towards his residence because his new family of 2 were busy cultivating . He pushed the main door lightly and instantly the formations were activated which covered his whole house .
Raven went towards the small training room which was completely empty as he had never used it before. But from now on he would practice his professions here . First it was the Art of Alchemy of which he had the most knowledgable of and was his Master's first profession .
But first Raven went to the General Pavilion and visited the sales counter because he had to buy many low level herbs for practice . Raven did not overestimate himself and decided that it was completely okay to fail sometimes as long as he could get familiar with the process . He was used to failures because he had seen more failures in his past life as a researcher than success.
After returning to his training room , Raven set the 1 meter wide and 2 feet long cauldron on the floor . The cauldron was nothing special both in appearance or material because it was only a low level one but it was fine for Raven who just wanted it to refine some pills before it could explode for all he cares . Raven would eventually forge his own cauldron so he felt that it was no use to feel any attachment to this one .
Raven first closed his eyes and started sorting his memories regarding the pill called Beauty Pill and carefully went through the process for more than ten times until he felt that he could try to actually refine the pill in reality. He chose this pill because it was the most low level and easiest pill to refine in his memories and could sell for some sect points because females cherished their beauty more than anything else . So the old women would definitely buy this pill and maybe even in bulk .
The first process was heating up the cauldron with pill fire . So Raven produced his qi fire which produced hissing sound and shot up from his right palm . Raven then held the cauldron with his left palm while slowly heating it up with the fire . His qi was stronger so the pill fire also produced much heat thus Raven tried to lower the temperature slowly while finding the optimal one for this cauldron. Every cauldron was somewhat unique and require different temperatures to heat up . But Raven had the inheritance which also contained detailed notes of his Master so Raven found the optimal temperature in just seconds with his qi fire control.
Now the next step was to maintain the fire and extract the essence of herbs one by one which required maintaining the right temperature all the time during the process which was different for every herb and changed with the extraction in progress .
The beauty pill only required low level herbs which were not even in the ranks of Spiritual Herbs but contained some energy inside them. The number of herbs was only 5 so Raven prepared the herbs and started with the herb that required longest time to completely extract the essence and the essence would take the most time to dissipate among the five herbs . This was to make sure that he had enough time to extract other essences while the first one was heating up .
Now Raven could only use his Divine Sense to maintain the fire and extract the herb essence and this would test his control over his Sense which was fortunately superb after using it all the time. But Raven still ruined the herb and failed to extract the essence for first few times because it was the first time he used his Divine Sense for such delicate work . Soon though he managed to see his mistakes and correct them . He noticed that even though they were same type of herbs but each had unique traits in their cellular structure thus requiring different time and temperature to extract the essence . The rest was easy because he first checked the cellular structure of the herbs and only tossed them inside the cauldron when he managed to imagine the process of extraction of essence.
After failing for another dozen of times , Raven wiped of his sweat before looking at the five colored herb essence inside the hot cauldron . Now Raven had finished extracting the essence of all the herbs and was controlling the essence to combine in the right proportion. This step was little easy compared to the first one because he was already familiar with essence and had the right combination formula inside his mind .
So Raven carefully controlled the essence with his Divine Sense and combined them slowly to reach the right combination . Still he failed for a few times and had to start again from the first step . But Raven was not disappointed with repeated failures as on the contrary he had a smile on his face . He could feel his mistakes each time and experiment again and again . This reminded him of his days on the microscope shaking his head while looking at the cell divisions which were too small for naked eye . But now he could see them even clearly or feel them with his Divine Sense . He could even combine them himself so the feeling was extremely good . Now he could see why Alchemist hated to disturb them during in the process of pill refinement . Such concentration was delicate and could break from smallest distractions after all .
In the end Raven managed to form the right essence formula after wasting exactly 32 batches of ingredients. But he now felt that he would not even fail once if he refined the same pill again because he had achieved almost perfect control over his Divine Sense and got familiar with the steps of Pill Refining.
Inside the cauldron now seven small pill shaped lumps were forming each having 5 coloured look . Raven easily managed to find out that he had enough essence for seven pills so he decided not to waste any essence which would waste his efforts too but the quality of the pill will be harmed too . The skill of an alchemist was tested at this process because only those who had complete grasp on the essence they had refined, could make the maximum number of pills while not wasting the essence . Raven closed the lid of the cauldron after the seven pills were shaped and now he only had to provide constant heat for the right amount of time .
The time required to provide heat for the pills to form was also different because the heating time of each cauldron was different. Raven deduced that he required only seven minutes of time so in the meantime , Raven took out a small jade battle and placed it on the floor by his side while waiting for the pills to finish refining and to be placed inside the jade bottle .
