The sun arose, as two travelers walked a top on rocky mountain side towards a cave to a dungeon.
"So let me get this straight. You have a goal to kill a demon, and to do that you need me and this other person we're searching for?" Zack said as he tried to keep up Mary.
"Yes," Mary bluntly replied as she helped Zack to climb up a steep cliff.
"But why? Something not adding up, why you want to kill this demon to begin with?" Zack asked.
Mary remained silent for a minute before answering Zack's question. "Revenge,"
"I see...." Zack said, stopped himself from speaking any further.
The two travelers reached up to their destination, a cave leading into dungeon.
"So... whose this person we're finding? Why are they in this dungeon? How long have they been inside?" Zack questioned.
"You ask a lot of questions, don't you?" Mary replied with smirk.
"Of course! I don't want to walk in there without at least one plan! I have a right to know, since I'm your party member," Zack grumbled.
"I'll tell you as we get inside, now come on," Mary said while she walked into the cave with Zack following behind her.
"This is dangerous," Zack grumbled.
"Hahahahaha! Don't start complaining on me now, we haven't even entered the actual dungeon yet," Mary laughed.
"I was serious about what I said before, just how long has this person been in this dungeon? How are you sure they're still alive?"
"She's been down here for over 3 months now, so I'm assuming she's still alive,"
"Assuming? I need facts, Mary! I don't want to run around in a dungeon, risking my life for a dead person!"
"Fair enough. But believe in me, I know she's here and I know she's still alive,"
"With what prove?" Zack remarked.
"Five months ago, there was large party here in this dungeon. The party got attacked by some viscious monsters, to save their own skin
They abandoned their most useless member in their party and used her as bait. But they clarified that she actually died," Mary explained.
"Ok.... and?"
"A month later there have been a rumor about monster slayer inside this exact dungeon. Now, you can't tell me that was just a coincidence,"
"It possible could be, if I'm being perfectly honest,"
"Well it's not to me! I'm going to prove it!"
"But what if your wrong? And even if you're somehow right, do you really believe that this person would actually come and join us after been abandoned by her old party?"
"I do," Mary said bluntly with coldness within her eye.
"Where are you getting this confidence from?! It's absolutely ridiculous!"
"I'm confident, because I know that I'm right. And nothing you say can change that," Mary glared at Zack, he felt chills crawling up his spine.
Zack went silent, realizing that doubt can never Mary's ears no matter how much she listens.
The tunnel Mary and Zack stroll through seemed to be endless, as the torches on the wall were dimly lit and the air blown howling wind through the tunnel.
Eventually, Mary and Zack reached to a huge door.
Zack walked to the door and examined carefully. "This door is completely made out of tungsten, while also having several golden cravings with strange patterns on it. Absolutely amazing..."
"You're right. Just how long have this dungeon been here, I wonder?" Mary said as she also examined the door.
"How long, isn't what my real question for this. If you ask me, I'll be questioning more on WHO crafted this masterpiece?" Zack said as he gaze at the door with eyes similar to a child's.
Huh? I knew Zack was a Tinkerer, but I didn't think he was so interested to metal material or others similar things. It's sort of refreshing to see him acting childish for once. Mary thought to herself, while revealing a smile.
Zack glance at Mary for a moment and felt his heart stopped, he couldn't tell if Mary was happy or angry. Zack couldn't describe it, but he did knew he felt uncomfortable.
"Hmm? What are you smiling about?" Zack said nervously.
Mary sighed as she shook her head. "Nothing, it was nothing,"
"Oh~ what is this? We have a pair of fresh meat today. How delightful~" spoke light yet sinister voice.
Mary and Zack immediately turned themselves around while throwing some knifes, however, it was to no avail. The knifes were swiftly reflected into the walls while a pair of purple eyes drawn nearer.
"Oh~ you two can fight too? How fun! I'll make sure to savor the both of you after I kill you two," the voice spoke again before they rushed towards Mary and Zack.
"What the hell?!" Zack yelled.
"I guess we got to fight," Mary said before charging forwards.
