Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Once everything was unpacked Gary then said "I'll take the truck back; Melody we'll fight tomorrow as promised so get a good night sleep. Tony drive a car so I can have a ride back home." Group B and C left before Gary could say anything, Melody said her good byes and thank you's as well as sorry for in-convincing them. Tony nodded for he wanted to talk to Gary on the way back. Tony and Gary left to return the moving truck, Melody went upstairs to sort through her thoughts and feelings about fighting Gary. By the time dinner rolled around everyone including Melody was at the kitchen table eating take out, silently. Melody went back to her room without saying anything and went to bed early knowing what will happen tomorrow.

Early the next day Melody made everybody breakfast including herself. "So when do you want to have a go and where?" Gary said to Melody, "in an hour here at the house in the basement." "Alright." After cleaning up the dishes Melody went up to her room trying to relax and ready her bedroom for the few weeks to come.

The hour was up and Melody made her way down to the basement where the real tiger boys, Lauren, and Paul was waiting. Like before Melody punched or kicked missing Gary or dodging a little, but this time Melody had her feelings and thoughts sorted. Melody then backed up to the wall and closed her eyes waiting for Gary to do his worst. Instead Gary asked "what are you doing?" "I had plenty of time to think through somethings." "You want me to-" "Yes." Gary went up to Melody and said " this will hurt a lot." Gary though wasn't going to hurt Melody, he went up to her and gently as possible punched her shoulder and backed away. Melody waited for more but nothing was coming, when Melody opened her eyes everyone was gathered around her smiling. "What's going on? Isn't-" "I never was intentionally going to hurt you again." "Don't you mean we." Said Eric. "Yeah I mean we-us." "Again?" "We didn't listen to your explanation and nearly drove you out of town." Tony then explained what Tucker, the fake tiger boy did. Melody couldn't think on what to say, Gary then said "when we fought yesterday and we saw you weren't fighting like you usually do... so we also knew that you didn't want to fight either. By challenging you to a fight we saw that at first you weren't sure what to do and regretted what you did. This time you knew what you wanted to do." "That was true, yesterday I was trying sort through my feelings and thoughts. Thankfully I had time to sort through them after coming back yesterday. So are we good?" "Yeah. Welcome back home." Said Tony and then Ricky. "Wait! What about um." "Tucker and his crew won't be acting like the way we use to but they'll visit once in a while." Said Irwin. "I see, well that's good... I'm going out a little later, maybe around mid-day." Tony then asked "Why?" "Truthfully does anyone of you trust me to make lunch or even dinner? Remember when I brought dinner to you all in bed and some of you thought I could have poisoned it." Eric then said "I remember, but-" Tony interjected saying "Remember I told you that I still trust you even when you brought dinner up to us." "Make whatever you want for lunch, but I'll be making dinner." "Gary what are you planning?" Asked Tony and Lauren. "It's nothing, just my way of saying.." Gary then looked uncomfortable to say sorry, so Melody started speaking. "You can cook tonight. If you want chat later then fine, you know where to find me." "How about we go out now, pick up some things for the house.?" "okay." Said Ricky.

To and from the store Gary indeed talked to Melody. On the way home, it felt normal until Gary asked about Melody's family then it grew awkward, Melody said "another time we can chat about my family." To Melody she knew he wouldn't forget or drop that subject but was relieved to still be living in that town, back in the same house with the tiger boys.

Days turned to weeks and although Melody looked and seemed very happy being back she still felt sad for what she did to her friends. Every day was normal as if nothing happened accept for Gary who asked Melody almost every day about her family. To Gary it felt like Melody was trying to hide something since she tried her hardest to avoid him.

Soon the tiger boys noticed that Melody started leaving early in the morning and coming back late at night. Melody never told them where she left to, but she did make sure that there was breakfast and dinner on the table. One day Cathy called and Gary picked up although Cathy is Melody's high school friend Cathy wanted to talk to one or possibly all the tiger boys. That is when Gary realized why Melody didn't want talk about family; death of a family member. Later that day Melody's sister Emily called, Tony and Gary picked up at the same time. Unaware of someone else on the phone Gary chatted with Emily, but it was a short conversation since Gary knew of the death. Gary and Emily hung up. Tony hung up after Emily and Gary did and wondered why Gary haven't told them.

Later when Melody returned to shower and make dinner, Gary and Tony both was quiet like they didn't know anything.
