Vito tapped his foot anxiously. His eyes darted around the room looking for her small figure.
"Vito!" Vito whirled around and smiled brightly. Her cocoa hair was pulled back into a bun and her green eyes shone with happiness.
The soft pink swing dress she wore was complimented by pink ankle strap wedges.
She dropped her bags and flung herself at him.
"I missed you, fratello!" She laughed. "I missed you too, Francesca." Vito hadn't seen his baby sister in more than six months and he was glad to see her well.
As kids, the two were nearly inseparable. Vito felt it was his job to protect his sister. Especially after their Mamma's passing. Two little bodies crashed into Vito.
"Uncle Vito!" Vito chuckled and scooped the two rascals into his arms. His niece and nephew were twins. Alejandro and Alejandra. Vito set them down and ruffled their hair.
"How is Tony?" Vito saw the shift in his sister's eyes "good" his eyes narrowed "don't lie to me, Francesca" she sighed "I'll tell you when we get to the house."
Vito nodded and called Luca over to take Franny and the kid's bags. They walked to the car, arm in arm with the twins up ahead, as Francesca talked animatedly about how things had been with her.
When they got to the house, Vito sat his sister down and forced her to tell him what was going on. Franny held her head in her hands, taking a deep breath.
When she looked up at him again, her eyes were filled with tears. Vito's blood boiled. After their Mamma died, Vito swore he'd make sure his sister never cried again. He was going to kill whoever made her cry.
"It's... It's Tony" she said "what did that asshole do this time?" The last time Franny's husband Tony had made her cry was when they first got married.
And Vito ended up in jail for harrassment and assault after it. "He's.. he's been coming home drunk again. And he gets.. he gets really violent. He hasn't touched the kids but I'm worried he will."
"Has he hurt you?" Franny stayed silent "Francesca. Has. He. Touched. You?" Vito grit out. A nod from Francesca was all it took before Vito was pulling out his phone and dialling the number.
He had just hung up when it happened. Vito yanked Franny onto the floor and pulled his gun out. "Stay down." He ordered.
The sound of glass shattering and the door breaking down put Vito on high alert. Bullets flew everywhere. Vito pulled his phone out and called Luca "Luca! Get Alejandro and Alejandra to the safe room NOW!" He hung up and handed Franny to Joe.
He narrowly dodged a bullet and turned around to shoot the person who had fired at him. The bullet hit him in the chest. Vito fired shot after shot and bodies went down.
His men had spread out and were overpowering the attackers. Or so he thought. More people poured through the door and Vito cursed.
He ducked as a bullet flew his way and before Vito could retaliate a red hilted dagger was sticking out of the man's neck. Vito stared at the owner of the dagger in surprise. What was she doing here?
Kitty winked at him before hopping onto the table, skillfully twirling three daggers in each hand. She smirked "let's have some fun" simultaneously, six attackers went down followed by two more.
Vito grinned before turning around and getting to work. As it turned out, Kitty and Vito made a great team.
They plucked the attackers off one by one and before they knew it, they were all dead.
Vito helped Kitty off the table and she smiled at him "hello, darling" before walking away. She placed her foot on one of the men and pulled her dagger out of his stomach.
She leaned down and it was then that Vito noticed he was still alive. "why did you attack Vito's house?" She asked.
The man remained silent. She sighed and stuck her index finger into the wound her dagger had made. He screamed as Kitty twisted her finger before pulling it out.
"Why did you attack Vito's house?" She asked again "we were ordered to! They knew that Vito's sister would be here, our orders were to capture her."
Vito growled "who sent you?" When the man didn't answer, Kitty lifted her dagger and stabbed him, in his dick.
"Answer him" she spat "Luciano Russo!" He screamed. Kitty nodded. She pulled the dagger out and smiled "thank you for your help." Then she slit his throat.
Kitty stood. "I'll call Annie" Vito nodded. They needed to have a meeting. There was no way Vito was letting this go unpunished. So he called Kanji.
