I drowsily opened my eyes: I observed the room. The room was windowless, stone, and cold. It seemed spine-chilling. I started recollecting what happened before I blacked out, which being on the couch in Samuel's house. That sudden realization woke me from my drowsy state.
That's right, I was on the couch. But then...I was hit on the back of the head and passed out. My thoughts came to a stop. I observed the room once more. It was dimly lit, I could barely make out stairs leading up to my left, and it seemed fairly old. I was in a basement. But then questions started resonating in my head.
Whose basement is this? Am I still in the house? Why am I down here? With each question, I grew more nervous and panicked. I took a deep breath. I tried to stand up, but I was held down. I didn't notice when I woke up but I was tied up to a pipe. I moved my hands violently, but it wouldn't budge at all. I grunted in annoyance. My legs weren't tied down, so instead, I used my legs to propel myself up. It failed miserably, whatever was tying me to the pipe was strong. And this caused me to fall back down.
I maneuvered my legs to a more comfortable position. I huffed, I had no more ideas. Instead, I observed my surroundings again. There was nothing new. But then I looked down at myself. I was still in my graduation dress, but the little purse I had kept my phone in had disappeared. So calling for help was out of the question.

I was now panicking, but I tried to remain as calm as I could be. The best thing I could do was pinpoint where I was.
I sent my brain into overdrive. If there are stairs that means I'm under somewhere. It's most likely a house, but am I still in Samuel's house?
I knew the last time I checked the time it was about 5:30. I looked around for some type of clock. I couldn't spot any. I needed some type of time indication. I stretched my head to try and see to the top of the stairs, hoping to see some type of light peak out. Unfortunately, I couldn't see to the top.
I frantically looked around. I rested the back of my head on the pipe in defeat. Until a pain grew from the spot.
That's right, I was hit in the back of the head. I checked my arm. It had little streaks of blood dripping. Under my arm, there was a puddle of blood no bigger than a ring. I touched it with my finger.
It hasn't dried. So I can assume it hasn't been that long since I passed out.
I sound like a detective from those tv shows. I scoffed a bit at the thought. Even in such a serious situation I still end up being an idiot.
But then that slight relief wore off as I heard footsteps approach from the stairs.
My blood ran cold and my heart started beating like crazy. I scrunched up into a protective ball. I quietly took deep breaths, none of them seemed to help.
The creaking was now at the end of the stairs. Then a face started appearing in the dim lighting. It was a familiar face, which belonged to my friend Samuel.
I calmed down and sighed in relief.
"Samuel I'm glad you're okay!" I exclaimed happily.
He scoffed and formed a creepy smile. My heart started beating fast again.
"H-hey Samuel, can you help me out here?" I stuttered a bit as I shook my hands. I tried to give a friendly smile at the end.
His visage stopped displaying the smile. He walked over to me. He crouched down to my level and looked me in the eye.
His right hand grabbed me by the chin. I flinched a little and Samuel smiled again. A chuckle escaped his mouth. He got back up and walked a bit farther from me.
"You haven't grasped the situation yet now have you?" He asked in a jokingly tone.
I was shocked. I never once scene Samuel act like this. I saw him joking around, acting normal, or just acting a bit flirtatious.
I tried not to display what I was thinking on my face. Instead, I gulped.
"Hmm, didn't hear you." He said as he cupped the back of his ear with his hand.
I had gathered up the courage to respond. "What do you mean by that?" I asked.
Samuel only glared at me. Sweating started collecting on the temples of my forehead. He inhaled a breath before walking to me.
When he squatted down before me, he exhaled his breath. He looked at me in the eyes, as if he was trying to examine my feelings at the moment. He smirked again before caressing my cheek with his dominant hand. He then pressed his lips against mine. My eyes widened at the action. He then pulled away.
"Do you get it now?" Samuel gave me a closed-eyed smile as he tilted his head innocently.
I tried to say something, but my mouth couldn't produce any words. Instead, small noises were heard. I bit my lip and looked down.
"Y'know you're pretty oblivious." He laughed. He then looked down at me, as if I was a pitiful thing.
"Samuel, I'm sorry. I hadn't noticed you expressing yourself towards me earlier. But unfortunately, I have to say I don't like you that way." I apologized as I looked back at him.
"That was a nice heartfelt apology. But you see, it doesn't matter if you like me back." He stared down at me, causing shivers to go up to my spine.
I now knew talking with him was no use. He didn't have any interest in my well-being. And on top of that, he didn't seem like the friend I once got along with. I shouldn't act vulnerable anymore.
I started shouting for help. "Help, someone, anyone!" I yelled continuously. Samuel just watched. I then realized nobody was in the house next to us. And it was very unlikely anyone is walking by. I stopped yelling.
"Aw, c'mon love. Maybe if you scream loud enough someone might hear you." He mocked.
He soon walked back upstairs. I wiggled and shook to try to loosen myself from the pipe. I yelled as loud as I could.

Samuel soon came down the stairs and approached me. I was still yelling. Samuel tried grasping my cheek again, this time I pulled away.
"Why do you resist? Don't you see? You escaping or getting help is unlikely." He said softly.
"Well resisting is the only thing I can do now huh?" I said confidently.
I tried to keep a cocky, cool, and confident display. But on the inside, I was nervous and panicking.
"Well let's see where that gets you. But right now you're being too loud for me." He said calmly.
He shoved a cloth into my mouth and tied it on the back. He put his index finger towards his lips and signaled me to be quiet. I tried to scream but my voice was muffled. I stopped and grew quiet.
Now Samuel was reaching into his pocket. He pulled out my phone, which made my eyes widen. He had gone behind me, toward my hands. He forcefully opened my hand and placed my thumb on the home button.
He scoffed to himself as he walked away.
"I'll see ya in a bit love." He said sickly sweetly as he walked up the stairs.
