{Heads up, there's gore in this chapter}
I faintly heard the front door close from above me. Footsteps followed. The conversation was muffled by the creaky floorboards.
I couldn't hear anything until the door to the basement opened.
"You sure I can be here? I mean it's your guy's graduation, I'm still a junior." A familiar voice asked nervously.
"Ha, chill out. It's no big deal." I heard Samuel's voice replying.
"Anyways it's pretty cool you have a mini hang out in your basement!" the voice said, all giddy and happy.
"Yea, I guess so. Well, you head down, I'ma grab Amai a drink like she asked." Samuel replied.
Then it clicked. That voice belonged to Eddie. Samuel must've used my phone to lure him here, but for one reason. I pondered on it for a few moments. If Eddie is here, maybe he can get me out. I screamed. Unfortunately, the cloth muffled my screams.
I heard a creak of the old wooden stairs, followed by four large bangs. The door to the basement locked, and Eddie was now right before me.
Eddie groaned and rubbed the back of his beard before lifting his eyes to meet mine. Then his eyes widened.
"Hey-y Amai, what are you-. Why are you tied up?" Eddie stuttered as he made his way to my arms. Eddie fidgeted with the cloth in my mouth before my arms until the steps on the stairs came to the stop on the cold floor.
"Hey Eddie, watch out!" I screamed.
Eddie immediately dodged the swing. Samuel had come down to the basement with a metal bat. My heart started pounding.
Samuel swung the bat a little. He did it as if it was a toy. Perhaps he was just teasing us. Until it seemed he got serious, he hit Eddie pretty hard on the back.
"Eddie!" I shouted, on impulse trying to rush to his aid, still bonded to the pipes.
Samuel pointed the metal bat downwards, just hovering over the back of Eddie's kneecaps. He ramped it down with such force I heard a loud crunch. Eddie was screaming in agony. Samuel threw the bat to the other side of the room before walking around to a table.
When he came back to Eddie, he threw a substance that was in a small cup at his face. It smelled of bleach. Eddie whined and whined at the unbearable pain.
"Hey. Stop it. What do you-, no? This is between you and me. So stop doing this to Eddie." I quietly begged.
I stared into Samuel's coal eyes, begging. His expressionless face showed small signs of anger. His eyes furrowed a bit as he frowned.
He walked to the table again, this time bringing a knife. He threw it right next to my legs.
"I'm feeling, a bit merciful. So just kill him." Samuel this time gave me a closed-eye grin.
"No! Of course, I wouldn't do that to my friend!" I shouted at the top of my lungs.
"Last chance." He sang.
I didn't give a clear yes or no, I just expressed my anger through my facial features.
"Well, I guess you have to learn the hard way." Samuel bent over and swiftly grabbed the knife.
Samuel kicked Eddie over onto his back as if he was a box.
"P-please...stop." Eddie's voice cracked.
"Stop it! Please! Just let him go! I'll do whatever you want! Just leave him out of it!" I screamed like a child throwing a tantrum.
"It's a little too late to try and play the savior." Samuel tilted his head towards me, I gazed at his empty eyes.
His hands gripped the knife above his head. It immediately swung down. A blood-curdling scream came from Eddie. It got cut off by the loud ringing that started in my ears. Eddie's abdomen had been sliced open.
Samuel tugged at the loose intestine that peaked out of the slit. He pulled it out curiously, paying no attention to the screaming. He pulled it out as if he was a magician, pulling the long cloth out of the hat like magic.
Samuel started wrapping the intestine around Eddie's neck. His voice was now gone due to the screaming. He gasped for air.
"St-top it...please.." I stuttered as warm tears rushed from my eyes.
Samuel ignored my pleas and continued.
"STOP IT!" I yelled again, this time sniffling.
Samuel glanced at me and continued. He dragged Eddie towards a large hook that was on one of the ceiling beams. He hung him in it.
Eddie's breaths came shorter. And I screamed louder and louder. Eddie lifted his arm weakly to try and reach his neck. But at his final breath, his arm gave out and fell.
I gasped in horror. I started to uncontrollably sob. I examined Eddie's eyes, the emerald eyes that shined bright. They were like doll's eyes, lifeless.
"Look at what you caused. Now don't even try to blame this on me." Samuel said disappointed.
My mouth twitched. I wanted to say something but couldn't.
"I mean honestly, I gave you two chances to give your friend an easy way out. So selfish Amai." My throat ran dry as Samuel stroked my hair.
I couldn't deny it. If I said yes, Eddie wouldn't have suffered like that until his last breath. Hell if I wasn't oblivious a few more people would still be alive.
My brain was starting to feel numb. I was greatly overwhelmed. I only sobbed softly.
"Now are we going to stop acting like some sort of non-existent savior? Or do I need to give you another hands-on lesson?" Samuel kneeled and asked.
I stayed quiet.
All of a sudden Samuel hugged me. He chuckled a bit. I didn't resist.
"Good." Samuel stroked my hair again.
He cut off a few of the bindings that held me back. He brought my head to his chest. Again I didn't resist, I cried into his chest. I felt my limps go numb.

I heard car doors being violently slammed shut. People talking in the distance.
