"So what's this project on again?" I asked as we walked inside the hut I had built with all equipment necessary to do any Chem project
"Unit and measurement. An hundred and fifty questions multiple choice paper. In order to get full marks we have to answer all right" she said
"That shouldn't be too hard. I'll take the first seventy five you take the last."
"Fine" she said before we started
(Trudy)
I had just finished setting everything up for girl's night when my husband suddenly came home
"Trudy. Have you seen Jimbo?" he asked
"He's out"
"Out? Where did he go?" he asked
"He's throwing a party for Carlos' birthday on the beach" I answered taking the pies out of the oven
"Oh I absolutely love parties. I wonder if he'd mind his old man being there" he said
"Hugh he's a teenage boy. He doesn't need nor wants his father by his side especially at a party. Not that you've even been there as of late" I said putting the tray on the table
"What's that suppose to mean?" He asked
"Nothing" I said passive aggressively
"No you definitely meant something"
"Fine it means you've been disappearing in and out of town for four years" I said going back into the kitchen
"Nope. I'm not getting into this again. I can't deal with you starting arguments right now" he said
"Me starting arguments?! I wouldn't have to start arguments if you just tell me what you're doing on your trips. Because it sure as hell ain't business" I said
"Then what is huh? Tell me you think I'm doing? Am I sneaking off with some woman. Is that what you think I'm doing" He said angrily
"YES!" I yelled
"Well I'm not. I'm making money so we can keep living in this house and you can keep your little shop open. Not everyone is like you Trudy" he said before I slapped him
"You're so full of it. My 'little shop' is doing just fine thank you" I said
"Yes keep telling yourself that" he said sarcastically
"Fine then look me in my eyes and tell me you haven't slept with any other woman" I said
"What?"
"You don't think I've noticed Hugh. You haven't looked me in the eye for four years. So come on do it. Look me in my eyes and say 'Trudy or Sugar I haven't slept with anyone on any of my business trip'. Come on say it" I said. He stood up straight and tried looking me directly in my eyes. I wasn't sure if I was imagining it but I could see him shake a little
"You know what this is ridiculous. I'm getting out of here. Enjoy your little girl's night" He said storming out of the house
'How does he know about girl's night?' I thought to myself knowing I had never told him about it. About ten minutes later after I had calmed myself down again I heard a knock on the door so I opened it and was happy to see it was the other girls
"So nice to see you girls could make it" I said smiling before going to the fridge for some much needed alcohol.
"Trudy I absolutely love what you've done with the place. That expansion was the best idea you've thought of in years" Carl's mom said as I got out of the kitchen handing out champagne glasses and putting down the snacks. Her name was Martha Stewart we've been friends since college and recently she got plastic surgery done. Though I know I shouldn't say it she wasn't the best looking person so the plastic surgery was a huge help
"Yeah. It was Hugh's idea. He said something about wanting to change the feng shui of the room. God knows where he got that from" I said downing one glass before refilling it
"It feels like something Tasha would say" Carolyn said before the doorbell went off. Carolyn Forbes she was Libby's mother but ever since ths divorce the two of them didn't get a long. She had moved out of town
"I'll be right back" I said going to open the door
"Speak of the devil" I said smiling
"Glad to see you too Trudy" she said before I took her coat
"So how are things we haven't spoken in awhile" I asked downing my fifth glass before refilling again
"Been busy like usual never in one place too long" she said walking to the couch. That was Tasha Vortex my best friend since high school. We works at Hugh's company and she was pretty high up. She worked hand in hand with Hugh. He was the marketing manager and she was the financing manager. For what he says he does the marketing strategies and plans and she checks the budgets and assigns it to him
"No no no. This is all wrong. The couch should be red and the lamp should be three moves inches to the right and the curtains are all wrong" Tasha begun her rant
"I swear that man can't take simple instructions" She ended her rant
"Um did you told Hugh to do this remodeling and expansion?" I asked
"Yes it was an anniversary present for you two" she said putting down her purse and sitting down before I downed the sixth and refilled again
"Um Trudy don't you think you're going alittle too hard on those" Carolyn asked
"You're right you're right" I said putting down the glass
"Maybe just one more" I said drinking the champagne
"Okay girl what's up with you?" Carolyn asked
"It's Hugh"
"What about him?" Tasha asked oddly curious. Though the two of them worked together she had never really cared about him outside of work. Though she didn't like him that much she stayed completely professional
"I think he's...."
"He's what?" Carolyn asked
"I think he's cheating on me" I said in one breathe.
The room went quiet before Tasha burst out in laughter
"Are you kidding me? You're kidding right? You think that man could be capable of doing such a thing. I mean no offense but what woman would even think of sleeping with him of all people. A dorky duck lover isn't really the world's most eligible bachelor" Tasha laughed
"Yeah I know but recently he's been going away for these long business trip. Never telling me what he does. He hasn't slept with me in four years and he's coming in late every night. I know this might be sexist but a man can't go without sex. So if he isn't getting it from me he must be getting it from someone else" I said
"Oh please you're overreacting. He's up for another promotion do you really think he would have time to stay home. When I was up for promotions I didn't even see my house for months on end. At least he has the decency to call and say he's coming late. And he's tired of course he'd want to get some sleep in the evening." Tasha said
"I know. I know. That's way it's killing me to ask you this"
"What?" Tasha said
"You work with Hugh right?"
"I am his technically partner" she said matter a factly
"So you're on all the business trips right?"
"Where are you going with this Trudy?" she said defensively
"Have you ever seen him with another woman?"
"What?"
"Like have you seen him chatting with another coworker more frequently and longer than others."
"Not that I know of"
"Okay have you seen him sneaking off with anyone."
"Trudy I stay with him on every business trip. Nothing goes on that I don't know about. Now if that's all you called us here for I'll be taking my leave. I can't believe I wasted my time with this" Tasha said before she left
"You guys think I'm overreacting too?" I asked
"Well Tasha does have a point? I don't see many people throwing themselves at a guy like Hugh" Carolyn said
"Yeah but the problem is that he hasn't been like his self recently. In fact he's behaving like someone Tasha herself would be interested in." I said. Tasha was into a certain type of man ever since high school. A handsome man with money. She almost thought heavily about personality. Not nice nor kind but bourgeoisie and with a preference for the extravagant things in life
"Well I'm sure nothing's wrong so let's just talk about something else" Carolyn said
"Wait before that did any of you happen tell Hugh about tonight?"
"No why?"
"He mentioned something about it and I was curious who told him"
"Maybe you accidentally let it slip or maybe he figured it out." Carolyn shrugged
"I guess that's possible"
"Good now let's move on. To something else"
"Yeah like for example Carl has got himself a model for a girlfriend"
"No way." Carolyn said shocked as I simply sighed before getting up and walking out to the porch. I need some time with my thoughts.
Maybe Tasha was right. Maybe I was being dramatic. At least that's what I thought until I saw Carlos' father on the porch
"Mr. Estevez what are you doing here?" I asked
"Oh I'm coming from Carlos' party but you know a middle age man doesn't exactly fit in at one of those parties" he said
"Wait are they drinking?" I asked worried
"No.... barely... Our kids aren't" he lied before I sighed
As long as they drink responsibly it's alright. I mean they're teenagers it's not like I can stop them
"Anyway I actually came here to express my thanks. If you ever need anything fix tell me okay"
"No problem. I'm glad to have the town's best mechanic at my beck and call" I said
"So do you really think Hugh's having an affair?" He asked out of the blue
"How did you-" I asked
"Sorry I overheard" he said
"It's okay"
"So...?"
"I mean I can't really picture Hugh having an affair but my womanly instincts are telling me that's what's happening. But I can't exactly picture Hugh cheating. I don't know maybe I'm just paranoid" I said
"Honestly I'm not so sure. Hugh hasn't really been the same for awhile now." He said
"So you noticed too?"
"Yeah. Even though we aren't exactly best friend. We do hang out from time to time but in recent years I haven't seen him around as much"
"Ugh I wish there was some way I could find out" I groaned
"Are you sure there isn't?" he asked
"Well he did say he lost his phone and he still hasn't found it" I said
"So that's how you're going to find out if he's having an affair. Just find his phone. If he is there's definitely going to be some evidence" He said
"That's a great idea. Thanks" I said
"No problem. You can just save me a slice of one those pies as payment" He said with a charming smile
"Why don't you come in for one." I said
"Sure" he said

I had just gotten off the water slide for the fifth time and Carl ran straight for a bathroom. I let out a sigh before heading over to the table and throwing out some juice
'Odd this taste just like the juice I had at the Monaco fashion show after party' I said before I heard a familiar voice behind me
"Careful that's spiked" he said causing me to turn around
"Nick" I smiled hugging unto him. I was so excited to see him. I haven't spoken to him in years. I was going to talk to him when I got back into town but I had guessed he was probably busy.
"There's no spike in this drink silly. Otherwise I would have pricked my tongue" I joked
"Um that's not....Spiked means-" He said about to explain
"I'm kidding" I said giggling
"Glad to see you again Brittney" he smiled as I let go
"I've missed you" I said
"Doubt it three years and not a call" He said
"Sorry I was busy that agent you hooked me up with was running me ragged" I said
"Yeah Bree can be a bit much with new talent" He said
"It's cool. Plus I doubt you'd want to talk to me when your girlfriend's keeping you busy" I said
"Yeah" He said with a sad smile
"Come to think about it I haven't seen her around since she left with Jimmy to do some project" I said before he grit his teeth angrily
"Everything okay?" I asked
"I'm fine"
"Are you sure. You looked agitated"
"Yeah it's just me and Sophie are kinda in a fight. She saw me with Vanessa and I can't even think about how wild her imagination must be running. I actually came here to apologize" He said
"You still haven't told her yet" I said. This was something that make or break their relationship. The longer he kept it a secret the worse it's gonna be when he finds out
"I just haven't been able to find the right time"
"If you say so. How is Vanessa and the little guy by the way?" I asked
"They're doing great" he said with a genuine smile
"Good. Now that's the Nick I like. Let's go keep that smile on your face" I said before I pulled him towards the dance floor.
"I should really just wait for Sophie" he said
"Come on just one dance" I said
"No I really need to find Sophie" he said
"Oh come on you love this song" I said
"Maybe next time"
"Please. I'll be really disappointed if you don't" I plead before he sighed
"Just one song" he agreed
So we danced not too close but not too far away from each other. Just enough for people to recognize that I'm with him but not with him but soon we started drawing closer to each together until we were uncomfortably close. I had always felt there was some connection between us but Nick never noticed. Or maybe he did and decided not to act on it. Either way he's never shown interest. We danced until we got lost in the music then I felt his hands on my waist and I leaned back. It was a surprise that I unconsciously found myself welcoming. I mean the scent of this guy's cologne was even more intoxicating than the spiked beverage. How could I resist. We danced with our bodies clinging to each other until the song ended but Nick didn't let go instead we continued dancing as the second song started
"Do you mind?"
"No it's alright" I smiled with a small blush on my face
(Sophie)
"Finished" I said smiling
"Finally now we can get going" Jimmy said stretching
"Get going?" I asked
"Yeah. We're totally missing out most of the party. Let's go" Jimmy said
"Actually Taylor I think I'm just gonna go home" I said packing my bag
"Seriously. There's a party you're just gonna go home. I'm sure Libby wouldn't approve" He said
"Well I think it would feel too awkward. I mean you're here with Betty or is it that other girl that works at your mom's shop. I'm not really on speaking terms with Libby. Even if I were she's here for Carlos. Even Carl's here with someone. I don't want to be the loser watching from the side lines" I said
"What about me. You got me don't you" he said
"Do I?" I asked looking into his eyes
"Of course. No matter what you will always have me Sophie" He said staring into my eyes.
We should have probably looked away at that moment but we couldn't. We stood there staring into each other's eyes. Time froze as we stood there waiting for the other to make a move then suddenly the door opened
"Hey Jimmy we're out of chips" the new girl said walking in. We both broke apart coughing embarrassingly
"Am I interrupting something?" She asked noticing the awkwardness in the air
"No it's fine. I should probably head out anyway" he said before he started walking to the door and stopped
"You should stay Vortex. You never know maybe Nick's here" he said before leaving
"Nick huh" I sighed before noticing the girl was still here
"Um do you want something?" I asked
"No I'm just curious. So you're the famous Sophia Vortex I've heard so much about" She said
"Well now I feel bad because I haven't heard anything about you" I said
"That's to be expected. I'm Rebecca" she said stretching out her hand
"Sophie" I said shaking her hand
"So what's going on with you and Nick" She asked
"Nothing" I said
"And why don't I believe you?" She asked
"Sorry but I'm not too big on sharing my personal life with a stranger" I said
"That's probably for the best. I should be heading back to the party" she says before leaving. I looked at my bag before sighing
"Hey wait for me!!" I called out before running out.
We came out of the hut and went back to the party.
As expected Carlos and Libby were making out in a corner, Jimmy and Betty were no where to be found. Jimmy's friends were mingling with some random people
"Hey Sophie" Carl said coming out of the bathroom he looked like he had been throwing up
"Carl you okay?" I asked
"Um yeah I just rode the water....slide" he said
"Never thought you'd willing go on one of those" I said
"Well I had strong motivation" he said
"Hey I'm heading over to the snack table" Rebecca said
"I'll come too" I said before all three of us pushed through the crowd of dancing drunks until we spotted Nick and Brittney pressing up on each other on the dance floor
"Typical" I said.
They must have heard me because they split apart immediately after
"Carl" Brittney said
"Sophie" Nick said
We didn't say anything we just scoffed and walked away with the two of them chasing after us.
(Trudy)
"Okay I'm bored how about we play a game" Carolyn said
"I have few board games" I said
"Come on what is this family game night" Carolyn said
"So what do you purpose?" I asked
"I have an idea. Spin the bottle" Carl's mom said
"No. I have a better idea. Truth or dare" I said
"Okay now we're talking ladies" Carolyn said
"Who's first?" Martha asked
"Me" Carolyn said
"Okay Carolyn truth or dare?" I asked.
"Dare" Carolyn asked
"Um....I dare you to....eat five butter cup cookies at once" I said before she yawned
"Come on Trudy I'm sure you can do better than that?" Carolyn said before Mister Estevez walked into the room
"Thanks for the pie Trudy. It was great" he said licking the whipcream from his lips which gave me an idea
"Carolyn I can still change my dare right?" I asked
"Yeah" she said
"Great. I dare you to lick whip cream off of Mister Estevez's abs" I said before she smiled
"Now that's more like it" She said as we moved towards him
"Wait what?" He said dressing back
"Come on I don't bite....much" Carolyn said flirtatiously before we opened his shirt revealing his six pack and huge pecks. I guess being ex military as its perks
"Damn" we said as we pulled him to the couch forcing to lay down before I weren't for the whip cream
"You ready" I asked before he nodded and I spiralled whip cream in his six pack
"Yummy" she said before she started.
We all laughed and hollered as she did it even Mister Estevez was smiling
"Done" she said wiping her lips
"Okay who's next?" I asked
"Me" Mister Estevez said
"You sure about this Mister Estevez" I asked
"It's a bit too late to ask my opinion and just call me Francisco" He said
"Okay Francisco truth or dare" Carolyn asked
"Dare" he said
"I dare you to sexy strip for us" she said before he coughed
"What too much for you?" She asked mockingly
"No problem" he said before he stood up and jumped unto the coffee table
Carolyn played music and he started to dance while slowly removing his already open shirt.
We all laughed and clapped at the strip tease.
We cheered as he finally took off the shirt and threw it my way then he spun full circle before stretching his hand towards me
"No I can't" I said
"Do it" Carolyn said
"Do it" Martha said before they started chanting
"Fine fine" I said finally giving in. I took his hand and he pulled me upon the table. We danced to the music when suddenly the door opened
(Brittney)
I followed Carl to the snack table where he downed three cups of punch
"Come on that's enough" I said grabbing the yaddle. I know that expression. If I didn't stop him he'd drink himself into acoma
"You're still here shouldn't you be dancing with Nick" He said coldly as he got up and walked away
"It's not like that. We were just dancing Carl" I said before he stopped
"Look I'm not angry okay. I mean look at us. I'm me and he's Nick Dean. Just don't treat me like I'm stupid. That was more than dancing" he said turning to walk away but I grabbed his hand
"Let me go" he said
"No. I came here with you. Not Nick and I'm gonna leave with you not Nick" I said
"Let me go Brittney" he said
"No" I said
"I'm not going to let you go until we talk" I continued before he looked towards me. He had tears in his eyes that he was trying and failing to keep in. I pulled him towards me and wrapped my hands around his neck before kissing the tears away
"I'm here for you. Not Nick" I reminded him before he smiled and we kissed in the middle of the dance floor. This is good. While I do think it's possible Nick and I might have a connection I am sure Carl is a good guy and would make a great boyfriend. And it would be much easier staying with someone that adores me than someone chasing someone else
"That reminds me I think I owe you a ferris wheel ride" I smiled before pulling him towards the ferris wheel.

After my little private time with Betty I came back to the party and saw Rebecca on the dance floor
"Hey Rebecca what did I miss?" I asked fixing my clothes
"Well I met Nick." She said
"And" I asked sensing there was something else
"He's definitely as good looking as you said. He looked great grinding on that blonde" She continued
"Blonde. So that Vanessa chick is here" I asked
"Was she the one that came with the fat red head?" She asked
"Brittney" I said shocked
"Yeah." She said
"Didn't expect that" I said before I noticed she stopped listening
"Yo Earth to Rebecca" I said snapping my fingers in front of her face
"Ugh sorry. I'm just thinking of something" she said
"What?" I asked
"I remember where I've seen Nick before" she said
"Where?" I asked
"The Palace. My roommate has a cousin staying there. We visited and I saw him along with some blonde girl her name was Vanessa. About a month ago" she said surprising me
"The Palace!" I said angry before I marched over to him.
He was trying to get Sophie talk to him when I grabbed unto his shirt and pushed him against a tree
"What the hell's your problem man?" He asked
"Taylor" Cindy said shocked
"The Palace. Did you take that Vanessa chick there?" I asked pissed
"What. Where did you here that?" He asked
"Don't even bother lying. Rebecca saw you." I said
"Nick is that true?" Sophie asked
"Sophie it's not what you think" he said
"Then what is it Nick. You just bring random girls to fancy hotels without sleeping with them" Sophie said disbelievingly
"I didn't sleep with her" he said
"Then what?" Sophie asked
"I live with her okay" He blurted out
"You what? Live with her. So that's why we never visit your parents. You moved out to live with her" Sophie said stepping away before she left
"Way to go jackass" I said pushing him to the ground before chasing after her. I resisted the urge to punch him in the face. Even though God knows I owed him one
(Trudy)
"What the hell is this?!!" Hugh yelled walking in angrily
"Hugh" I said shocked as Mister Estevez and I jumped off the table
"Out!" Hugh demanded furious
"I leave after you accuse me and you're on the table dancing with another man" Hugh snapped angrily
"It's not like that man. We were just playing a game" Francisco tried explaining
"I don't remember asking you what it was like Estevez. You know I thought of you like a friend but you're just as bad as Stewart" Hugh said
"What's your problem with my husband huh. You hated us when we lived next to you so we moved yet you still have some problem with us" Martha said
"What are you people still doing here?" He yelled at Martha
"Don't scream at her man that's totally uncalled for" Francisco said before Hugh glared at him and Francisco glared back. These were getting heated and I didn't want this to escalate any further
"I'll talk to you guys later okay" I said fearing a fight. Hugh looked like a tooth pick when he was compared to the muscular Francisco and I didn't want him to get hurt
They all nodded before left and I looked at Hugh before walking away
"Trudy" he said before he followed me.
I slammed the door behind me and he pulled the door and came in to see me sitting on the edge of my bed
"Trudy" he said sitting beside me
"Are you happy now?" I asked
"What?"
"My friends left 'your' house. Are you happy now?" I said
"I was upset. I mean imagine what it would look like if I brought my boss home and he saw that" He said pissing me off. I mean I had never seen Hugh so angry before. It warmed my heart and sort of comforted me that he'd care enough to get angry. Now it's telling me it was just because he feared what his boss would think
"Are you freaking kidding me!! Your boss!!! You're upset because of your image" I said upset
"Yeah I have to keep up a certain image if I want that promotion" he said
"Promotion this promotion that. All I've been hearing there past few months is promotion. Sometimes I think you love your damn work more than me!!!" I yelled angrily
"What? Trudy I could never love work more than you. You're my wife. A man should love his wife more than anything. So believe me there's nothing in this world that I should love more than you" He said kissing my lips
"More than your ducks"
"Ten times more" he said kissing me
"More than your promotion" I asked as he stopped
"A hundred times more" he said gently pushing me on the bed
"More than your busy trips" I said
"A million times more" he said getting on top of me
"More than the person you're cheating with" I asked
"Trudy" he said cautiously and I simple rolled my eyes at the fact that he didn't answer before he kissed me again
"Hugh we shouldn't be doing this. What if Jimmy walks in?" I asked mid moan
"He won't. He's probably having fun with Betty as we speak" he said gently kissing my neck
"So you know about that too?" I asked before he started opening my shirt
"Yeah I just hope he's using a condom"
"He better" I said taking off his
(Sophie)
I was conflicted. I felt like crying but the tears wouldn't come. I just sat under a tree looking up at the night sky. Not a single thought going through my head
"Hey" the green haired brit said
"Hey" I said forcing a smile
"You okay. I overheard what happened with your boyfriend" he asked
"Just fine. I mean it's not like I found out my boyfriend lives with some model looking chick" I said sarcastically
"For someone like that your eyes seem rather dry" Fred said
"I hate to say it but I'm not that surprised. This is something I expected from Nick"
"I see. But still you should be crying a little bit"
"I know. There's just no tears"
"I myself personally believe tears are only shed for those one truly cares for. So is there someone you've cried over" he asked before we turned and noticed James coming over to us
"I see" he said
"It's nothing like that"
"Un homme peut se mentir mais il ne peut jamais mentir à son cœur" he shrugged before sitting up. Roughly translated he said that 'A man can lie to himself but he can never lie to his heart'
"You know for someone who doesn't talk much you sure are saying a lot" I said but he only smiled before walking away before Taylor came over to me
"Hey. Were you just talking to Fred?"
"Yeah he came to see how I was doing"
"And how are you doing?"
"Fine" I said
"Really?"
"Despite everything that happened Yeah"
"What about that Vanessa girl"
"I don't even wanna think about it"
"That's probably for the best. Who knows maybe it's something platonic" he said making me smile a bit
"Have you seen her" I said
"No" He said before he looked at the tree I was sitting under
"What is it?" I asked
"When was this drawn here?" He asked moving closer to the tree.
I stood and turned to the tree to see something I had hoped no one else would see
"Did you draw this?" He asked
"Yeah but I mean it was six years ago. I'm surprised it's still here" I said embarrassed as he touched the drawing of the heart with our initials on it
"What's that smile for?" I asked
"Nothing I just think it's beautiful" he smiled as I blushed a bit
We looked at the drawing before he suddenly asked
"So what are you gonna do about Nick?" he asked
"I don't know and I don't really wanna think about it now. I just wanna clear my head" I said
"Okay so how about we go for a walk?" he asked
"Sure let's go" I said. So we walked down the beach. It had happened when we were eleven going on twelve Jimmy and I were arguing about something while walking. We weren't paying attention so we headed up getting lost. We spent ours on the beach. Jimmy comforted me when I got scared and dived for fish when I was hungry then we laid under the stars. This went on for like three days until his parents found us. Those moments brought me mixed emotions. I was happy yet sad at the same time. I actually try not to remember moments like these because they always lead me to how we broke up. I was embarrassed and regretful. I wonder what life would be like if he had said yes back then. Considering there's no one around I would most likely be.....
"Is something wrong?" he asked noticing
"No I'm fine" I said moving away my hand
"Hey isn't that where I gave you that pearl" He asked pointing over to the log. Almost six years had passed yet that log hadn't been moved that fact brought a smile to my face. I remember Jimmy had spent hours looking until he found it. I think that was the reason we came here. Taylor wanted the pearls for an experiment but despite only finding the one he gave it to me
"Yeah" I said smiling at the stop on memory lane
"What did you ever do with that pearl?" He asked
"I threw it away. I mean what did you expect I keep it in a jewelry box in my draw beside my bed haha" I said quickly and nervously
"I guess that makes sense. But why are you so nervous" he sighed
"Hey look" I said pointing at some arbitrary thing in the distance
"I don't see anything"
"It must have already left" I shrugged.
"So do you come here a lot?" I asked happily changing the topic
"Not so much in the last two years. But freshman and sophomore year I came here a lot"
"So why did you stop?"
"I don't know. Maybe the memories were just too much for me" he shrugged
"Really?" I asked before he nodded
"The sky's really pretty tonight" he said looking up
"Yeah it sure is" I agreed after our little star gazing we then continued our walk
"Hey it's late. We should probably get back" Jimmy suddenly said
"I'm not in the mood for Nick's apology right now. I think I just wanna go home" I said before he took out his keys
"Let's go" he said before we walked to his car. He drove me home and followed me all the way to the door
"Thanks for the ride me Taylor" I said
"No problem. I told you you'll always have me" he said making me smile
"You can come in for something to eat if you'd like" I said
"Sorry. I should really head back to the party. Betty's waiting" he said as my smile faded
"Yeah. I'll see you" I said before closing the door.
I sighed as I went up to my room and opened the draw took out the jewelry box and held the pearl in my hand smiling at the memory. My brief moment reminiscence was broken by my growing stomach. I was hungry so I went into the kitchen where I made a sandwich and sat down on the couch watch TV.

It happened I had finally slept with my husband. But I wasn't happy in the slightest because I had confirmed my suspicions my husband was cheating on me. And I'm convinced it was with one of my friends.
Like something out of a teen drama or soap opera. To be honest I haven't seen him one hundred percent but it only makes sense. My husband sleeps with me right after I told my friends I think he's cheating because he hasn't slept with me and now he's suddenly ready to again. That coupled with the fact that he knew about the girl's night made it clear that it was one of my friends but who could it be. I wrapped my robe around me before I went to the bathroom to wash my face then I went out to the porch to see Francisco was still there
"What are you still doing here?" I asked
"Waiting for Carlos. I was about to head back to the beach. He might need a ride home" He answered before noticing my robe
"I guess you and Hugh made up" he said
"It looks that way doesn't it" I said with a sad smile
"Something wrong?" He asked
"No I'm fine. Everything's fine" I said before suddenly Carolyn walked up to us
"Hello guys" she smiled
"Carolyn? Why are you still here?" I asked
"I actually came to talk to Francisco here. Hmm looks like someone got busy tonight" she winked at me
"I guess this clears up your suspicion?" she asked but I didn't respond. I was too busy trying to figure out who it was. Maybe it was Carolyn. She was rather promiscuous and had no problems breaking morals bonds. Considering her track record it would make her the most fitting. Maybe it could be Bethany. She always had a preference for men with money. Maybe she didn't come because she couldn't look me in the eyes. My mind wondered to Martha. Maybe she and Hugh were together as a form of revenge but I put that thought straight out of my mind. She isn't the type to have an affair no matter the circumstance and plus she never leaves town unlike Hugh
"Um may I ask what you want?" Francisco asked changing the topic seeing that I was a bit uneasy
"Nothing really I just thought introductions were in order" she smirked
"Introductions? Carolyn I've known you for years" he said
"I meant reintroductions. I've noticed you finally taken off that darn ring of yours. So I'm guessing your available. So I wanna reintroduce myself. Hey I'm Carolyn Forbes divorcee"
"Well I'm Francisco, widower and your daughters boyfriend's dad" he said in an attempt to shut down her advancement
"I'm surprised those two are still together"
"What's so surprising about it?" he asked glaring a little
"Oh I mean nothing by it. I just wanted to show you my apartment. Its got quite the view" she said suggestively
"I think I have to turn that down. I'm sure my son will need a ride home " he said
"Oh well that's too bad. Call me if you change your mind " she said leaving
"Well aren't you lucky?" I chuckled
"Please don't laugh" he sighed before I forced myself to stop
"So when did you take off your ring?" I asked
"Tonight actually. Carlos helped me. We're working on moving pass that accident together"
"Well I'm glad to hear that. I hope it works out for you two"
"I hopes so for you too. You still think Hugh's cheating right"
"I'm positive he is" I sighed grief evident in my voice
"So what are you gonna do now?"
"Can I borrow your phone please?" I asked
"Sure" he said giving me his phone and I made the call
(Sophie)
I was sitting in my coach watching 'Legacies' when suddenly I heard a phone ring.
It wasn't mines because mine was on the table and it was a ringtone I had never heard. It sounded like a duck quaking and it was coming from the couch.
I stuck my hands in it looking for it. Soon I pulled a phone that I have never seen before. It was a red phone in a red Detective Duck case with a yellow Duckie MoMo strap on it
I answered the call.
"Hello" the person said

"Hello" I said
"Mrs Taylor" the voice shocked me to the core the voice was Sophie's
"Sophie?" I asked my mouth trembling
"Mrs. Taylor?" she asked confused
"Sophia what are you doing? Where did you get that found? Hang up this instant!!" Tasha yelled before we got disconnected. So what does this mean. I know what it means but is it really possible. Could the person Hugh's having an affair with be.... Tasha.
No it couldn't be. Tasha? She was my best friend. The oldest of my friends how could she betray me like that. No it can't be here.
"Hey Trudy are you okay?" Francisco asked
"Here. I....I need to go inside" I said before running back to my house. I rushed back to the room to find my husband quickly getting dressed
"Hey Trudy. Glad your back. I got a surprise text from work. I have to go in" he said
"Don't wait up" he said walking pass me
"Tasha" I said as he put his hand on the doorknob. Just by calling her name I had caused him to stop dead in his tracks
"Why did you suddenly say that name? Did she have something to tell me?" he asked turning to me
"Are you sleeping with her?" I asked
"What? How could possibly think that I..."
"CUT THE CRAP HUGH!! JUST ANSWER MY DAMN QUESTION!!!" I yelled absolutely livid
"Trudy....I....I..."
"So it's true" I said heartbroken. I looked at him dead in the eye as my heart shattered into pieces
"How did you find out?"
"Are you freaking kidding me!!" I yelled throwing the alarm clock at him. Luckily for him he dodged it
"Is that important right now you bastard?!" I yelled throwing something else
"Trudy look I can explain" he said before I scoffed
"You can explain Hugh? What can you freaking explain? Are you gonna explain how you sleep with my fucking best friend" I yelled throwing something else
"Trudy I didn't want to-"
"Get out! Get out"
"What?"
"I don't even want to look at you" I said my rage building to the brim
"And where am I suppose to go?" he said
"I don't care. Go stay with that bitch!! Just get out of my house. Get out! Get out!!" I yelled throwing whatever could get my hands on. Hugh had gotten out of the damn room before I flopped down on the sheet less mattress and cried my eyes out in the mattress
