I woke energized as I happily skipped down the stairs in my atom symbol pajamas. I had been a week since I asked Betty to go with me and Fright Night was right around the corner. In fact it was tonight.
It was a great morning to say the least Betty had slept over. Despite being angry that my parents found out she didn't say anything but because my parents were in the house we didn't do anything...Well anything much
I opened the fridge with a stupid grin on my face remembering what she did as I took out the milk carton and went for the cereal in the top cabinet
"Good morning Jimbo" Dad said as he opened the fridge
"Morning dad" I said taking two bowls out
"So how was last night?" he said winking and giving me a thumps up
"Don't know what you're talking about Dad" I said as I started making my way up the stairs again.
I opened the door and saw a sleeping Betty laying in my bed
I threw out the the cereals and then the milk into the bowls then putting the boxes at the foot of the bed before kissing Betty on her head
"Give me five more minutes" she said turning
"Come on we have to get ready for school" I said shaking her a bit
"Who wakes so early in the morning" she said lazily getting up before I gave her the cereal
"I do. I have classes to get to" I laughed
(Sophie)
"Sophia Darling" Mom said as she entered my room
"Yes mom" I said packing my bag
"Did you sleep with Dear?"
"Yeah Mom. I dreamt of rainbows and puppies" I said sarcastically
"That's good" she said knowing I was being sarcastic
"So I hear the Fright Night party's tonight"
"And?" I asked
"What are you and Nichalos going as"
"The invisible and intangible man and woman" I said sarcastically picking up my bag
"So you aren't going?"
"What gave it away" I said sarcastically before my phone rung
I knew who it was so I decided not to answer but mom saw it and went for it
"Mom no" I called but she already answered the phone
"Hello Nicholas"
"Sophie? She's right here" she said handing me the phone before I sighed
"Hey"
"You finally picked up" he said
"I didn't exactly have a choice"
"Can we meet up tonight?"
"You know I'm really busy. Taylor and I have to do homework"
"I would believe you if Taylor wasn't going to Fright Night with Betty"
"What?"
"I'm guessing you didn't know"
"No" I said before we went silent for a minute
"Anyways can we meet up?"
"You know what sure. We're going to Fright Night. Wear a custome" I said hanging up
"I'm guessing you won't be home" she said before I sighed and walked to the car
(Carl)
It's been a week since I found the packet in Dad's car and he's been looking for it ever since.
"Hey Dad" I said as he walked into the kitchen
"Hey Carl" he said taking out an almond milk from the fridge
"I saw you searching your car awhile ago were you looking for something?"
"No I was cleaning the darn the thing out"
"You sure"
"Yeah. What's with all the questions lately?" Dad asked
"Oh no reason. It's just that some of the customers have been complaining about how you've been opening the pharmacy later than usual"
"Yeah I've been busy. You know doing this and that collecting goods and medicines to restock"
"Okay" I said
"Is that it Detective Stewart?"
"Um Dick is saying that you disappear sometimes"
"Why are you talking to Dick." Dad said a bit angry
"No reason"
"If you have no reason to be talking to him why are you?"
"You know Dad I have something to do. I'll see you later" I said heading up to the living room
I was gonna speak to mom about this but she's changed ever since she had the plastic surgery done. I wasn't s close to her as before
Whenever she goes out she's crowded with guys tripping over themselves to get her number and when she finally gave in they blew up her phone.She blocked most of them but oddly she was still talking to one of them. She would speak with him whenever she had the chance and they would always laugh a d talk for hours. It was really freaking me out
"Hey mom" I said cutting in on her conversation
"Oh Carl. How may I help you?"
"It's about Dad"
"What about your father?"
"Nothing much but don't you think he's been acting strange"
"Your father's always been a little strange Carlton"
"Yeah but he's been acting extra strange these days"
"Trust me Carlton you're father's fine. Just give him some time" Mom said before leaving.
"That's for hearing me out mom" mom sighed sarcastically before heading up to my room and decided to call Brittney. I need to speak to someone about this
It rung for five minutes before someone picked up
"Hey Brittney"
"Sorry this is her manager"
"Can I speak with Brittney?"
"Sorry but Brittney is currently at a photoshoot. She can't answer the phone"
"I see can you tell her I called"
"Um sure. What's you're name again?"
"Carlton. Carlton Stewart" I said knowing she already knew from the caller ID and the picture before I hung home.
I sighed looking at my bag before deciding to go to school
(Carlos)
Morning has come again and I was ironing both Libby and my costumes for tonight. She wanted to do it but she got a call from her dad so she walked out. I guess is that she is currently arguing with her Dad. They've been arguing for the last week but Libby has been trying to keep it from me.
"Hey Carlos I've got to leave" she said walking back into the room
"Alright. See you at school" I said
"I don't think I'll make it to school today" she said
"Why?"
"I just remembered I didn't book a D.j for Fright Night. So I'm gonna be out all today finding a D.j" she said.
Because she's been trying to keep the fact that she's arguing with her father from me I pretend like I don't notice and just play along
"Well Shining one why don't you just do it yourself?" I asked
"You really think I have the time to make sure the dance goes as plan and be the D.j. I mean what if something goes wrong"
"Then I'll be there to help but I'll be at the dance a little late though" I reassured her getting her to smile
"Fine I'll think about it" she said before turning to leave
"Love you" I said
"Love you more"
"No I love you more"
"Love you the most"
"I love you most in the whole world"
"I love you more than the whole universe"
"Goodbye Libby" Dad said a bit annoyed
"Bye Mister Estevez" Libby said leaving

Betty and I had just finished eating and were getting ready when I remembered something
"What are we going to wear"
"To what?" She said putting on her black boots
"Fright Night"
"Well I'll be going as my favorite actor"
"You mean actress"
"No actor" she said before picking up her phone, "What about you?"
"A mad scientist. It's cheapest route. I'll just mess up my hair and throw on one of my lab coats" I said before my mom knocked on the door
"Everyone decent?"
"Yes mom" I said before she entered
"Good morning Mrs. Taylor"
"Trudy. I insist" mom said
"Mom anything I can help you with?"
"Oh yes Sophie's here to see you"
"Crap" I said before I looked at Betty
"See you at school James" she said before going to the closet.
I sighed as I walked down stairs and went to the down
"Vortex what do you want?"
"Good morning to you too Taylor"
"Good morning" I said with a smile
"What do you want?" I immediately asked after
"I need a ride to school"
"You and Nick still fighting" I asked before we heard the Betty's bike leave
"No no. He just can't make it. We're actually going to the dance together" she said coming in
"You sure that's a good idea?" I asked
"Why not? I mean he's still my boyfriend isn't he" she said
"If you say so" I shrugged before going for my bag.
I went into my room to see my mom still waiting on me with my bag in her hand
"Can I get that please?" I asked
"What are you doing Jimmy?"
"Going to school"
"James Isaac Taylor you know what I meant"
"Yeah mom but Betty wants to keep us secret. I hate it but that's the way it is"
"Yet you seem fully cooperative when Sophie's involved"
"I don't know what you're talking about" I lied before she gave me a doubtful look and stretched my bag to me
"Thanks" I said trying to take my bag but she wouldn't release her grip
"Just make sure no one gets hurt when you're done got it."
"Yes mom. Can I go now?"
"Be careful Jimmy" she said releasing her grip allowing me to leave
"I will" I said going downstairs
"Okay let's go" I said closing the door behind us as we left. We got in my car and drove in silence. When we were about a mile away from my house she started talking
"So are we going to finish the project today. I know it's due Monday but it's not like 'we're' going anywhere tonight"
"Um....actually Vortex" I said before she interrupted me
"I mean if one of us were leaving they would surely tell the other before hand so they look like an idiot. Right Taylor"
"Um.... um....um"
"Good damn it Taylor. Just come out and say it would ya. You're going to Fright Night with Turner. God"
"Who told you?"
"Nick after I tried to not talk to him by saying we were going to be doing a project. Thanks for that by the way. Now I'm going to the dance with him"
"Why?"
"I had no reason to say no"
"Yes you do. He lives with another woman plus what happened with Brittney" I said
"You said it yourself it might be some platonic and he was only dancing"
"Okay so why were you avoiding his calls?"
"Why are you interested in my love life?"
"I could ask the same thing"
We both went silent after and I continued driving
(Carl)
School had just finished and I was trying to call Brittney but it always went to voicemail so I tried calling my Dad but then I remember he wouldn't be able to answer the call because he had to collect some new products and pills so hung up and started heading down to the bus stop when I noticed a familiar car that was parked in an unusual spot.
This spot was where the drug dealers were stationed but today the most infamous, Tommy Andrews was absent.
I walked across the street and they glared at me
"You looking for something kid"
"I'm looking for a someone. He has red hair freckles and-"
"He's in the alley" A short guy said before he stepped aside.
I walked passed a bit sacred because I noticed some of them had guns on them. I walked into the alley and to my surprise my dad was there along with the infamous Tommy
"So you want the product or not"
"Dad" I said before he turned towards me
"Who the fuck are you"
"Carl. It's not what you think?" Dad said
"Then what is it?"
"It all started two weeks ago when your mom went out with this guy"
"You've got to be kidding me" I said before I left.
I couldn't stay there any longer I walked to the bus stop and jumped on the first bus I saw.
I walked angrily home and flopped down on the bed
(Sophie)
I had just left class luckily Nick wasn't at school today so I could I didn't have to worry about him asking anything until tonight
When I reached my door I was welcome to the unusual sound of laughter so I opened the door to see my mom and Taylor's dad playing in the couch.
Mister Taylor was on top of her tickling her causing her to laugh hysterically while telling him to stop
"And what's going on here?" I asked before they stopped and turned towards me
"Sophie darling when did you get home?" Mom asked before Mister Taylor got off her
"I actually just got home. I had to walk myself home" I said before I started heading up the stairs
"Why don't you stay and we'll get you a snack. You must be tired from walking home
"Um I've got homework" I said going to my room.
About three minutes later Mom came into my room
"You and Mister Taylor are awfully friendly huh"
"Sophia I'm his partner. And like I always say it's better to have a good relationship with your clients than a bad one. It get works done" Mom said
"Yeah I understand" I said but I wasn't quite buying it. Mom might say that but she was never that close with him I could see that my mom wanted to talk more but my phone suddenly starved ringing. I was thankful for the call allowing me to avoid this conversation That I didn't even care it was from Nick
"It's Nick I'll have to take this" I said
"Oh yes I understand. I'll be out of your hair" she said leaving and I answered
"Hey Nick"
"Sophie. I'm just calling to find out when I'm suppose to pick you up"
"Actually I'll be asking my mom to drop me off and we meet there"
"What. Wouldn't it be better if we went together?"
"Nick if we're going in a car we would have to talk to each other then that would turn into an argument and..."
"Okay fine. Let's meet up at the school"
"Alright" I said
"Love you"
"Night Nick" I said before we hung up

I'm currently waiting in my room dressed in my llama boy costume Dad hasn't come home and my mom was out so I'm guessing that's a good thing because I really needed to be alone now.
I stayed quiet in my room until I heard the doorbell I went to the door and saw Brittney dressed in a sexy llama girl costume. She had a llama crop top, llama mini skirt and llama go go boots
"Brittney" I said letting her in
"Carl I'm so sorry I couldn't pick up this morning. I was really busy but I did see all your missed calls and I thought something is wrong"
"It's no problem. You were busy" I said
"Glad you understand" her manager said she forced her way into my house.
"Breeana nice to see you" I said sarcastically. I forgot Brittney's mom took away her car and now Bree's driving her around
"Yes yes. Just remember to have her back by eleven and.....wait tell me you aren't wearing that horrid thing" she said looking at my llama boy custome with disgust
"I think it's cute" Brittney said
"Of course you do." She sighed
"Um Brittney dear can you go in the car for a bit I have to speak with Carl" She said before Britney left
"And what are we talking about" I said a bit sacred
"Did you think about what I told you" She asked
"More than you know" I said
"So know this relationship won't last"
"Indeed"
"Glad you're seeing reason kid. I knew you were smart" she smiled at me
I wanted to to tell her my plan but I decided to keep it a surprise
"Thank you Breeana. I enjoyed this little talk. I actually wanted to ask you to drop only Brittney off at school. I have a surprise for the two of you" I said picking up my house keys and left making my way over to Jimmy's

The night was late and I was working on the thing Carl wanted in my lab while talking to Betty over the phone
"So any chance you'll be ready in an hour?" She asked
"Um just putting some finishing touches on something. I promise I'll be there when it's done" I said before my alarm went off
"James I'm giving you another five minutes before I leave this place. You understand right"
"Perfect I'll be there. Just have fun until I arrive. Just not to much fun" I said before my alarm went off again so I looked at the monitor and saw Carl
"Hey Jimmy I'm here"
"I'll talk to you later Betty" I said
"Okay" she said hanging up before I let Carl in
(Brittney)
"I still can't believe Carl had to do something just before we could leave"
"It's fine dear I'm sure he'll be here. He seems like a pretty nice kid"
"Says the person who doesn't like him"
"I never said I dislike him"
"So why are you trying to break us up?"
"I'm not"
"I'm not stupid Bree" I said
" Look Brittney people like us don't end up with people like you. Even if they are completely nice like you" She said before stopping into the parking lot where we saw Nick in a Robin Hood costume standing outside
"Is that Nick?" I asked
"Yeah I think it's him" she said before we parked in front of him
"Hey Nicky" Bree calling out to him
"Breeana, Britney what are you two doing here?" he asked
"I'm actually here to drop Brittney off"
"Oh yeah I forgot that your mom took your car Brittney"
"Yeah but it's okay. I did get in a lot of trouble the last month I've been back" I said
"Oh yeah when is you're escape from public eye gonna end?"
"Tomorrow. Sorry for the short notice" Bree said
"Well I'm actually trying to convince Bree to let me stay a while longer" I said
"Carl?" he asked
"Yeah"
"So where is he?"
"He said he had to do something I'm not sure. What about you?"
"What about me?" Nick asked
"Why are you standing outside. Don't tell me an handsome guy like you doesn't have a date" Bree asked
"Bree" she said, "You know he and Sophie are having problems"
"It's cool Brittney. I'm actually waiting on my date"
"So you broke up with her. Good I mean what kind of girlfriend doesn't trust her own boyfriend" Bree said
"Actually. I'm waiting on her"
"Really Nicky. You're still pinning for her. She doesn't deserve a kind guy like you"
"Come on Bree. It's not like I'm being one hundred percent honest with her"
"Fine. I'm just worried she's gonna hurt you"
"Don't. She's a good girl Bree"
"I hope you're right"
"Anyways don't let me keep you. You guys go have fun" Nick said
"Actually I'm leaving. Important meeting" she said, "Can you watch her for me"
"I really shouldn't move"
"Come on Nick you know how much trouble she can get in"
"Fine"
"Thanks Nicky you're the best" Bree said before I got it off the car
"See you two love you" she said blowing kisses as she left
"Sorry about this Nick. Maybe we could wait here together. I'm waiting on Carl too"
"No. It's alright. You should enjoy the dance. I know how much you dreamt about going" he said
"Thank you" I smiled before we went inside.
It was really crowded everyone was in costume and the DJ was not surprisingly Libby
"Yo Yo Yo. It's D.j Libbs and guess what I'll calling all the monsters to get down on this spooky Fright Night" Libby yelled before pressing the horn effect. Everyone got ten times more energetic as they danced on the crowded dance floor
"Um I'm a little thirsty I'm heading over to the punch table"
"I'll come too" Nick said
"I'm just going over there Nick. I'll be fine" I said
"Okay. Shout if there's trouble" he said before I left.
I hadn't even made it cross the crowded dance floor and a guy grabbed my ass as I passed. I just thought it was because of the crowd by immediately knew it was on purpose when he did it again which pissed me off but I just kept quiet and went to the table.
I poured out a cup and started drinking when suddenly the guy came over
"Hey Baby" he whispered on my ear
"Hi" I said grossed out
"I couldn't help but notice how hot you look in that costume"
"Thank you I guess" I said
"I wonder how you'd look out of it" he said checking me out with his creepy perverted guys. It didn't take a genius to figure he was undressing me when his eyes sending a shiver down my spine
"Well my friend actually is waiting on me. I shouldn't keep him waiting" I said as I tried to leave but he grabbed my hand
"Come on Baby why are you leaving so quickly. We just started talking"
"Sorry but I have to go" I said trying to break free
"Come on. My friend has a place around here. Maybe we can go check it out"
"She says she's fine" Nick said appearing out of no where
"And who are you?"
"That doesn't matters to you"
"Well we're having a conversation here so you should probably get going"
"I would but you're talking to my girlfriend and I can't allow that" Nick smirked at him
"Give me a few more minutes and you won't have to worry about her being your girlfriend again" he snickered callously
"Let her go" Nick ordered sternly
"Yeah and if I don't" he said.
Nick didn't even say anything further. He just glared at him before giving a chilling smile and whispered something in his ear.
The guy immediately let go of me and backed off
"What did you say to him?" I asked
"Doesn't matter" He said before I smiled and went to take a sip
Then suddenly Nick was pushed into me causing all the juice to spill on my white fur crop top
"Take that asshole"
Nick looked furious as he turned around and gave a right hook that I could have sworn dislocated his jaw
"Oh shit. My clothes they're soaked" I freaked
"Um let's go to the bathroom" he said forcing a path through the crowd but was met with a huge line to both bathrooms
"Okay follow me" he said bringing me to the janitors closet where to kids were making out
"Okay you two beat it" Nick said before the guy glared at him and he glared back
"Let's go" he said before he and the girl left
"Here" Nick said giving me his handkerchief and coat
"No one should see you changing here" he said turning away from me
(Carlos)
It was late and I was on a taxi in front of Libby's house dressed in a king of pop costume Libby picked out to match with here Queen of pop costume
"Thanks for the ride man. Can you wait for me"
"No problem" he said
I walked to the the door and rung the doorbell and Libby's dad answered the door
"Mister Hall" I said
"Libby's not here" he said rudely
"I know"
"Of course you know. She spends most of her time idling with you instead of focusing on her music"
"That's actually why I'm here. I know you think Libby isn't focusing on her music but she is. She just doesn't want to put all her time in just music. She wants to enjoy herself"
"Enjoy herself?" he laughed, "The music industry isn't so easy. She will enjoy herself after she makes it"
"And what if that happens if that takes another twenty years. Does she have to wait two decades before deciding to enjoy her life. The future might be important by it doesn't mean anything of she can't enjoy herself"
"What do you know about the future boy? My daughter is planning for her entire life. Do you even know what you want to become" he asked
"I....I'm still thinking about it"
"Hmph. You're a senior and still don't know what you want to become. I honestly have no idea what my daughter sees in you. Do you have any idea how mismatched you are? My daughter is a goal oriented hardworking and talented girl. And you? You're just a slack who stays at his house reading comics. You aren't good at sports nor are you smart. You just go to school. You cannot even compare to your own friends. One's a genius and the other has a plan for his future. What about you?"
"Look I don't know what I'm want to do in the future. Hell I don't even know what I want to do next week. You're right I'm not good at sports or studying. But I do know one thing. Your daughter is the best singer I've ever heard" I said
"There is always room for improvement. You can't just sit and expect opportunities to come to you just because you're talented"
"Okay fine but why does Libby have to go those singing classes every day. She's been going ever since she could speak. She knows every piece of advice they're gonna tell her and plus she's the best singer I've ever heard. You don't have to believe me okay. You can believe your own ears" I said before he sighed
"Fine" he said before I motion to taxi driver to leave.
(Sophie)
I had just finishing putting on my princess costume and was now leaving my house when I noticed Carl waiting outside of Taylor's lab
"Hey Carl" I said walking over him
"Hello Sophie. You look nice" he said
"Thank you. What are you doing in front of Taylor's lab? Aren't you suppose to be at the dance with Brittney?" I asked
"Actually Jimmy's doing me a favor" he smiled
"What kind of favor?" I asked before Taylor came out from his lab
"Hey Sophie? What are you doing here?" he asked.
"I was just passing by and was curious what Carl was doing here" I said
"Okay. Anyway Carl here is the thing you asked for" he said handing Carl a red pill
"And you're sure this is gonna work?"
"Yeah but since I only had a week to make this. There may be some side effects that I'm not sure?"
"Side effects? What kind of side effects?" he said fearfully
"Honestly not good ones. You could very well hurt yourself. Are you sure you still want to do this?"
"Will it hurt?" he asked timidly
"More than you know" Taylor said completely serious
"Give me the pill" Carl said before Taylor gave him the pill and he swallowed it with ease
"Is something suppose happen?" I asked unsure of what was going on
"Maybe it didn't work" Carl said
"Wait for it" Taylor said stepping back
"Wait for wh-.... AAAHHHH!!!" Carl yelled as he fell on the grass. His face has turned a crimson color as he screamed bloody murder. A puddle of wet was forming under him as he curled up into a ball
"Oh my god Taylor is he gonna be okay?"
"He's going to be fine.....I hope" he said as Carl cried out in pain. The screaming went on for another ten minutes before he finally stopped
"Are you alright?" I asked Carl as he slowly got off the ground.
"I'm fine" he said leaving me speechless.
"Neutron what did you do?" I asked amazed. The Carl standing before seemed like a different person. I previously hadn't noticed but Carl was really tall. He was around six feet two inches and now filled with lean muscles
"I didn't do much. I just removed the excess fat" Jimmy said
"Who knew Carl had all this under all that fat" I said staring at his muscles
"How do I look?" he asked shyly
"You look.....better" I said before he smiled brightly
"Um I think we should get going. I'm sure Brittney's waiting on me" Carl said
"Yeah Betty's probably wondering where I am. Want a lift Vortex?"
"Sure I think I've kept Nick waiting long enough" I said
(Brittney)
"Damn it" I said
"What's wrong!" Nick asked still not looking at me
"It's not coming out." I said throwing down my crop top
"Just put on my jacket and send it to the dry cleaners tomorrow"
"You're right" I said putting on the green jacket, picked up my crop top, dropping in my bag before walking towards him but suddenly I tripped on something
"Ah" I said before Nick spun around and caught me
I looked up and saw his beautiful black eyes. It felt like they were sucking me in and before I knew what I was doing I kissed him.
He didn't push me off but he didn't kiss back he just allowed me too. I already knew why so I controlled myself and eased off him
"I think we should get out now" he said before we walked out seeing two faces we wished we didn't want to see
For Nick it was the disgusted look on Cindy face and then there was Carl. He looked a little different but I could tell it was him. He had a betrayed look in his eyes that broke my heart as he turned and walked away
"Carl wait" I said chasing after him.
I followed him out to the parking lot where he was trying to catch a taxi
"Carl. I'm sorry. But it's not what you think"
"You don't want to know what in thinking right now" he said
"Carl"
"I can't believe I actually thought I had a chance with a girl like you. You know what your manager was right"
"Come on Carl" Brittney said
"You told me. You swore to me you didn't like him" he yelled angrily
"Carl....I.."
"I'm gonna ask you one last time. Do you like Nick?"
"Carl....."
"Answer me." he said
"I did okay. I do like Nick but nothing will happen between us"
"I knew it. I'm just a stand in until Nick finally sees you aren't I" he said tears in his eyes
"No you're not Carl"
"So if you had a choice. Would you chose me over Nick?"
"Carl that's unfair" Britney said before Bree's car pulled up in front of us
"Oh Brittney. I was just gonna call you. We have an emergency photoshoot. We have to send some photos to Free Soul magazine. Who's you're friend?"
"It's Carl"
"Carlton what happened to you" she said shocked
"Nice to see Breeana"
"Carl..I-" I said trying to answer his question
"Save it Brittney. There's no need to answer. You already did" he said before walking away
"Did I miss something?" Bree asked
"I messed up Bree. I really messed up" I said
"What happened?" she asked
"I don't wanna talk about it" I said getting in the car
"Aren't you gonna say goodbye to Nick?" she asked getting in
"Not now Bree" I said before we left
(Martha)
I had just gotten home from dinner with Dr McKnight, the psychiatrist I've been saying for my low self esteem for the last four years, and I walked in the kitchen to see my husband sitting in the darkness with an entire tub of ice cream in front of him
"You gonna eat that by yourself?" I asked sitting beside him
"Welcome home Martha. How's was dinner with the psychiatrist?" He sounded off
"Fine. Did something happen?"
"It's Carl. He saw me with the kid"
"Oh no. Did you tell him what you were doing?"
"I tried but I messed up"
"You should have just told him straight forward"
"How was I suppose to tell our son that his girlfriend was doing drugs" he asked before I sighed
(Sophie)
Carl and Brittney had just left leaving Nick and I standing there staring at each other
"Sophie-"
"Save it. I'm done. I'm done fighting, ignoring your calls and avoiding you. I'm done repeating this conversation. It's tiring."
"Come on Sophie. I came here to talk to you. I think we can work this out"

I had just gotten to the dance. Carl and Sophie left just awhile ago.
I looked around the dance floor until I spotted Betty dancing by herself
"Can I cut in?" I asked
"Sure. I'm sure my partner wouldn't mind" she said before we started dancing
"So what took so long?"
"Carl needed my help with something"
"Oh" she said smiling
"What's the smile for?"
"I actually thought it was... Nevermind" she said and I instantly knew she was thinking about Sophie
"You don't have to worry about Sophie, Betty." I reassured her

The night was now wending down and Fright Night had came to an en everyone was leaving the school grounds so I was saying goodbye to the band and people packing up as I walked out of the gym to see Carlos in the parking lot
"Carlos where the hell were you. I thought you were going to help me tonight"
"Yeah sorry I was too busy getting an very important guest"
"Important guest?" I said confused
"I heard you sing tonight pop star" My dad said coming out from where he was hiding
"Dad. You came" I said shocked
"Thanks to your boyfriend here. I realise that I was maybe pushing you too hard. These past few months. And I'm sorry. From now you don't have attend those vocal lessons you already sing better than the teacher anyway"

The dance has ended but I didn't want to go home. I tried going to the candy shop but it was closed so I turns heading over to Trudy's and luckily it was open
"Hey can I get a pie please"
"Actually sir. I'm just closing up" Trudy said
"Please Mrs. Taylor. I could really use something to take my mind off things"
"I'm sure you've had an hard day but I really have to go home Sir"
"Carl. It's Carl. Just please let me in"
"Carl. Did Jimmy do this?"
"Yes. Can you please allow me to come in"
"Sure" she said letting in me
I went to take a seat at one of the tables
"So what can I get you?"
"One of everything on the menu. Put some of it on my tab" I said
"Sure thing"
When she came back I immediately dug into the blue berry pie
"Mind telling me what's on your mind?"
"Sure" I said before I told her about my day
"Wow that's pretty bad"
"Yeah. Thanks for listening"
"No problem. It was nice hearing about others relationship problems"
"Come on what kind of relationship problems could you be having. Last I heard you were in an happy marriage"
"Yeah" she said smiling bitterly
"Anything to say" I asked
"I can't"
"Come on. I'm a good listener plus I'll never tell anyone"
"Fine. But anything I say never leaves this shop okay"

"Okay. Hugh's cheating" she said before she went on to tell me why
"That's impossible. Hugh must be the biggest idiot in the world to cheat on someone as beautiful as you" I said
"Please Carl I haven't been beautiful in a long time Carl"
"Says who. I've always thought you were beautiful. To be honest I even had a little crush on you when I was younger"
"A crush on me huh" she smiled belle we sat in awkward silence
"Um...I think you should pay for some of those" she said breaking the moment of silence
"Oh yeah" I said reacing for my wallet but it fell and everything fell out
"Crap" I said before we went on the ground trying to pick it up
We picked up all the money and she also picked up a rubber
"What is this?" She asked shocked
"Jimmy told us to awards carry one after the incident with Carlos"
"Oh"
"I've never actually used it. I mean who would have wanted to sleep with the old me"
"You weren't that bad looking Carl"
"Do you really think that?"
"Yes you were cut-" she started before I interrupted her with a kiss and surprisingly she actually kissed back
After three minutes we stopped and looked at each other
"I'm so sorry" I said before she surprisingly kissed me. This time we started taking off each others clothes

Fright night had came to an end and with it the end of my relationship
Unfortunely that also meant losing some of the privileges like getting a ride home and unfortunately Jimmy had already left so I decided to just take a taxi.
I paid the driver and then went to my door. The house seemed to be empty as no one was in the living room, kitchen and all the lights were off
'It is midnight maybe mom's already asleep" I said before I put down my bag and went up stairs as I passed my mother's room I heard the unusual sound of moaning so I curious nudged the door to see a familiar face on top of my mother
