The next morning the cool wind blew in the short grass where Avecii was lying outside of the town. It ruffled and messed his hair, sometimes causing an itch in his eye as he stared at the entrance of the town, waiting for her to come out. After waiting a few more minutes he saw Mia leave. He waited for her to get a good distance ahead then slowly got up and began his tailing. He made sure to keep a distance of 20 feet between them at all times, making sure she could not feel his presence. Soon they entered Rome, whose streets were swarming with people. As Avecii followed, someone from the crowd hit his shoulder twisting his body to the left. When he snapped his head back Mia was gone, completely blended into the crowd.
Avecii ran to where he last saw her and shook his head from side to side looking at the nearby walkers and into the dark alleys close by. When he turned back forwards saw the heel of a foot entering an alley a couple feet in front of him. He bolted forwards, swimming through the sea of people to get there.
"MIA!!" He shouted as he rounded the corner, but stopped as he stared in shock..
"Oh, boy do you happen to know this young lady?" The man standing between the unconscious bodies asked.
"Yes, who are you?" Avecii asked.
"Don't worry about me," he said as motioned Mia to go forward, "She is who you should be worrying about."
Mia slowly walked forward, placed her forehead on Avecii's chest and gently squeezed him.
"Mia… Are you ok?" Avecii asked softly.
She nodded her head.
"Who were these people?" Avecii asked.
"I… don't know… but they were saying the same things the others thugs were saying the last time I got attacked..." she whispered.
Avecii furrowed his eyebrows.
"Can you make it back to Cuore on your own?" Avecii asked.
She nodded before pulling away and once again disappearing into the sea of people.
"Are you sure that was a good idea? The man asked.
"If she doesn't get surprised, she's much stronger than she looks." Avecii said with a faint smile.
"Now then, Boy, did you say Cuore?" The man asked.
"Yes, that's the name of the town where we're from." Avecii answered, staring at the man.
"Let me treat you to lunch, since you saved Mia." Avecii offered.
The man rubbed his chin carefully before agreeing.
"But before we go, we should figure out why these people were attacking your beloved." The man said with a grin.
"She's not my beloved, and I have a pretty good idea as to who these guys are… or rather who these guys belong to." Avecii said as he walked over to one of the bodies and tore a sleeve off revealing burn marks and cuts leading up to a tattoo of a blade on the man's shoulder. He looked up at the man with a confident stare.
"And that confirms it," Avecii said as he got up, "Shall we go sir?"
The old man stared at the shoulder for a few seconds with a disturbed look before slowly turning away from the body and nodding.
