Chapter 207 - CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND SIX

The table Justin chose, was set at a perfect angle, which gives us a good view of the counter, where the motherwfu**ker and that c**t stood, staring behind them instead of the showcase filled with pastries and the clerk standing in front of them, awaiting their order.

My only concern right now, is that they find no connection between the Phillips and me.

Lifting my eyes, I smile politely as Mrs. Phillips walked towards our table, balancing a tray with a coffee pot, sugar and two coffee mugs. Waitressing is not what she does but her nervousness confirms, she had to come over.

Pushing my chair backwards, I move to assist her but Mrs. Phillips, shook her head, declining my assistance.

"No please," she stops me, blinking her eyes nervously, she starts emptying the contents from the tray unto the table.

Lifting her eyes to the overhead mirror, "is that Jamie's stepsister?" Mrs. Phillips asks in disbelief.

Surprise for just a second before remembering, the Phillips would remember the entire family when they visited the cabin at the lake.

"Yes but please don't mention your relationship with Jamie and PLEASE don't let her know you've been meeting Jamie from time to time." I requested politely. "I will explain another time.' I tell her watching Justin prepare his coffee but his eyes are focus on the people behind us, who were now greeting friends.

"Go to the back and stay down if there are any problems," I advised Mrs. Phillips who clutched her chest nervously, while nodding.

"Don't worry, there will be no trouble if they behave." I smiled softly. "Everything will be okay." I promised her.

Nodding, with a small smile, Mrs. Phillips returned to the counter to assist the clerk speaking to Jessica, who also greeted Mrs. Phillip in a friendly respectable manner.

At some point Jessica points at me but I tried not to react as Justin and I were fixated on the 'friends' that suddenly appeared in the tea shop, occupying two of the dozen tables set in the dining area.

Even though our backs were turned, we were aware that they were just as fixated on us.

Other than my skills and the two piece I'm loaded with, starting a brawl would be useless because we are outnumbered.

Jessica joins Justin and I at the table, exchanging a quick glance behind us before pulling out a chair and sitting down without any pleasantries and a wide grin.

"Won't your boyfriend be jealous?" Justin flicked one eyebrow to look at her before, focusing on the pastries in front of him.

Shrugging, "I'm not Jamie," Jessica retorted, casually.

Of course that was bait so I took it.

"Jamie?" I repeated, frowning as a small smile seeps unto her face that's covered in flawless makeup.

Just like Jamie, Jessica is a beautiful young woman, whom mom was interested in signing as a model to her line, after her graduation but she chose sides, which made it impossible now.

Nodding, Jessica glances briefly in the direction where Clyde sat and smiles at me. "Yes," she said, "he's Jamie's boyfriend and he's been helping me search for her." Jessica frowned.

I don't know how Jessica expected me to respond to that but I tried to oblige.

"Boyfriend?" I repeated, turning around to all nine pairs of eyes staring back, sending out a challenging smirk. "Since when?" Turning back to Jessica, I wait for her explain.

Chuckling, Jessica gently lifted her soda to her lips, "since forever?" She retorted calmly.

Curling my lips downwards, I raised an eyebrow then shrugged.

"How did I not know that?," I responded with a smirk, because she knows, both Jamie and grandfather is missing but chose to discuss my wife's love life.

Chuckling, Jessica leans across to take a piece of pie from my plate, before leaning in her chair, smiling at me with the same smug expression.

"You were so smitten, you would not have believe me if I had told you." She responded, while I stared at her in disbelief.

Does she actually believe the words that's coming out of her mouth?

"You still looking for her?" From lowered lashes, she frowns at me.

Chuckling, I tap my chest lightly, "she's in here," I answered softly, because Jamie is my lifeline.

"I saw the photos that Jer took for your mother's fashion show," Jessica suddenly changed the topic.

Okay, this good!

"Yeah, mom made a new line and since you are no longer available," smiling I pause at the shock on her face, "Jerome suggested Jamie is even more beautiful." I added softly. "And she became an overnight sensation." Smiling as Jessica's shock deepened into a frown and then, immediate anger.

"That's not what the commentators are saying," Jessica said between gritted teeth.

Shrugging, as I refilled my coffee cup, "Your brother did get recommended for an award, because of those photos," I responded as casually as I could, when I saw Clyde Daniels stand and started walking across to our table.

Tilting my head towards him, "your boyfriend is coming for you." I said to Jessica but my eyes are on Justin and the smirk on his lips.

Lifting her eyes to Clyde's briefly, "like I said he's..." Jessica was saying when Clyde interrupted her with a cold, hard glare.

Pointing over his shoulder, "go over there, I need to speak to the lawyer." He gritted impatiently. I glance quickly at Jessica as she stood up, not missing the fear in her eyes.

Smiling, I pointed to the chair Jessica was vacating, "have a seat," I invited him politely, since we never officially met, I'll play dumb.

Dragging the chair rather loudly, "I don't need an invite." He responded to my politeness with a cold glare, plumping ass on the chair, with a thud.

"Where's your grandfather?" He asks abruptly and by his impatience, I'm assuming that's the reason he sent Jessica over but she had other things on her mind.
