Logan and I walked in silence on our way to the cabin and I knew his mind was on something that's worrying him, because he has yet to bring up the reason for my call to Jess.
Instead for turning left towards the cabin, Logan drew me to the right, leading to the lake front.
I didn't ask any questions, I just went with the flow, because I believe Logan's worry has to do with Justin and if the penthouse is under any threat.
As I sat back on a lawn chair, Logan pulled his phone out and started pacing up and down, after dialing a number, one hand in his pocket and the other holding the phone close to his ear.
Walking away towards the lake, Logan went to take his call in private, which angered me, because I am the one who alerted them to Amy and Tina's safety at the penthouse.
With a scowl on my face, I watch Logan approach me, his expression grim, causing my anger to leave me instantly.
"Tina?" I asked quickly.
Taking a deep breath, Logan sits on the arm of my lawn chair, "the apartment is empty and has been turned over." Logan explains slowly.
"Okay?" I ask, waiting for him to continue.
Looking down at me with a soft dry laugh, "I can't make a call to alert grandfather about it, because he would know you relayed the message, or that you knew about Amy and Justina staying at the penthouse." Logan explains and I felt hurt once again.
"It's my fault," I agreed, "if I didn't call, Justin would have found them missing when he called in to check on them." I muttered to myself. "How could I be so stupid, allowing myself to be played?" I continued with my monologue, getting more upset by the seconds.
Logan, placing his hand on my shoulder, simply started caressing my neck, deep in thought.
"If he thinks we have Angela, he would do something like this to get her back." Logan whispers softly, "so, all we have to do is find her and trade her off." He continued and all that I got so far is that, he has to find her.
"Can you find her" I asked, feeling more stupid for believing there was a possibility of him having kidnapped her.
Chuckling, "I know who has beef with her family, so that's a good way to start," Logan explained, as he got up and started pacing again, already thinking through his plan.
Before he got any further with his plan of action, "do you think Amy and Tina were kidnapped, or it was staged for her to run off with her daughter?" I wondered loudly, causing Logan to turn and frown at me.
"Do you think she would do that?" He asked me instead.
I shrugged my shoulders, then after a moment's thought, I shook my head.
Coming closer to me, "why?" Logan asks, stooping in front of me, starting me directly in the eyes, making me all nervous.
"I.. I don't know" I whispered softly, trying to look away, but I found myself pulled and locked in one place.
"Why?" Logan asked again and this time, I had to think about why I doubt she would run away.
Finally shifting my eyes to this left ear, "she finally got Justin back and she's finally able to be a family with their daughter." I explained and now that the words are out of my mouth, I actually believe it.
Amy would never willfully leave Justin again.
Smiling, Logan raises himself and pecks me on my lips.
"I also believe that to." He agrees, "so game plan, is to find Angela Lawrence and make a trade off." Logan, standing straight, pulled his phone out to make another very brief call.
I guess he's finally leaving the compound after nearly a week babysitting my nerves.
I quickly made a silent prayer for Logan to find Angela Lawrence and use her to get Amy and Tina back safely to Justin.
With the same grim expression, Logan stretches an arm out to me, "I have to leave for a while," Logan explains as I placed my hand in his and stands.
I have to lift my neck to meet his gaze, because I was only wearing a flat pair of sandals.
"Okay!" I whispered, because I had no choice. He must bring Amy and Tina home.
"Bob and Whiz will be here with a few of the guys," Logan was explaining was we walked.
Nodding, although he may not see clearly in the darkness, "and Jer" I added.
"Jer is not here," Logan said and I didn't question him, but I need to know where he is.
Without asking him about Jer's whereabouts, I wait for him to enlighten me.
"He went with Justin and a few of the guys." Logan was explaining when I stopped short.
Lifting my eyes in the darkness, barely able to see Logan's expression, but his tone was firm and confident.
"I don't understand" I retorted, because I don't understand why Jer would go with Justin? Why would Logan send him with Justin?
Taking another deep breath, "you know how attached Jer has gotten to Tina and her to him," Logan said and I didn't answer. I didn't need to answer.
"He didn't ask and I was with you, so he just up and went with the guys." Logan said and I didn't add or take away from his explanation.
I cannot fault Jer for going, because, if it was me, I would have done the same to bring Tina home.
"Okay," I nod in the darkness, as Logan led me through the kitchen door into the cabin.
Mom was sitting at the kitchen island, apparently nursing a headache, along with dad, Mrs. Stanley, Gwen and three of the guys who is always around dad.
"Organize," dad instructs Logan angrily.
Looking down at me briefly, Logan walks to our room.
