Chapter 157 - CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY SEVEN

Dad was angry because he found out I had Angela Lawrence and he's blaming me for the kidnapping of Amy and Justina.

What I have yet to tell dad before grandfather speaks to him, is that grandfather's searching for Jamie, whom he believes ran away from me.

I have yet to find out what grandfather said causing Jamie to abruptly hang up on him, but that'll have to wait until I return, from whatever today holds.

"F**k my life, sometimes" I muttered, stretching out in the back seat, leaving the front passenger seat for my father, whose angry as f**k!

Dad's regular driver and bodyguard Robert, met my eyes in the rearview mirror, laughing because he believes I've screwed up with dad, once again.

"F**k you to," I mock him.

We were both laughing, but stopped abruptly when dad, yanked open the door of the front passenger seat.

With his eyes roaming, he finally stopped his roaming, when his eyes fell on me.

"What the f**k were you thinking Logan?" Dad barked, before climbing into his vehicle.

With us in the confines of the vehicle, I decided to explain what has been going on behind his back, which I would have kept from him, if Amy and Justina weren't missing.

"There is a reason behind my actions," I started telling dad, when he angrily started yelling at me.

Shaking my head, I relaxed back in the seat and closed my eyes as the whiskey from earlier now starts taking it's toll on my brain.

"I hope you can pull this off without Angela having any knowledge of who has her captive." dad was saying, because like Jamie and mom, dad believes that I am going to do a trade off.

F**k that!

Staring at the back of my father's head, I decided to fill dad in on only what I think he needs to know.

"Are you ready to talk?" I asked gruffly.

"There's more?" He asks, matching my tone of voice.

"A little while ago, Jamie ended up calling her sister and lied to her about..." I was saying when the yelling started again.

"What the f**k is going on?" Dad yelled. "Why is your wife making all these calls." Dad hits the dashboard angrily.

What the hell, it's his vehicle.

I closed my eyes again, because of my aching head.

"Did you f*cking fall asleep on me?" Dad's voice erupted in my head.

"What?" I jumped, hitting my head against the hood of the vehicle.

I glared at the driver who burst out into laughter.

"Just wake me when we get there" I instructed dad, unable to fight the sleep that's overwhelming me, plus to us extra time to break Angela for good.

This is Justin's call.

The slamming of a car door, jerk me awake again, which just increases my headache.

"Dammit" I sit up and looked around to see that Robert stopped on the freeway.

"He's taking a leak?" I asked Robert, whose just sitting there, with his head turned, staring at me and dad missing from the front seat.

"He's waiting on you" Robert informs me, nodding outside and I frowned.

I sent down the window and saw dad pacing on the outside, both is hands hidden in his pockets.

Opening the door, I turned to Robert with a grin, "he's got a piece hidden in his pocket?" I asked chuckling, as Robert shrugged his shoulders.

I left the door open and walked slowly towards dad.

Hearing or sensing my presence, dad spun around and for the first time, his anger disappeared and was replaced by worry.

"What the hell are we going to do?' He asks and I walked closer to him, putting my hands on his shoulders.

Taking a deep breath, "can you stop the yelling and try listening for a second?" I asked, staring into his eyes that's visible in the light of early dawn.

Nodding, dad reluctantly bows his head, in despair.

"A few weeks ago, Jessica called Jer and said some things to him, that caused him to lie about Jamie's whereabouts." I tried explaining briefly.

"As far as grandfather is concerned, Jamie is on the run and he has men hunting her, men like Douglar." I explained as dad lifted his head and frowns.

"And you took Angela because of that?" Dad sounds mystified.

Shaking my head, "no, she was a casualty that fell into our lap." I answered, because we didn't go searching for her. We found her.

"Dad, can you trust me?" I asked him, even though I know he will trust me.

"Justin isn't going to release Angela Lawrence at all." I stared down at him, hoping for the first time in my life that my father could read my unspoken words.

"So you want to go back to the cabin?" Dad asks and I shook my head.

"No, you will be going back to the cabin, I am going to help with whatever Justin and Cam has planned.

Scuffing at me, "in your f*cking dreams," dad retorts and walks back to the vehicle, leaving me to follow him.

Guess he's joining the party.

I returned to the vehicle and shut my eyes immediately, only to open it again at the sound of dad's voice.

"Okay jackass, where are we going?" He yelled once again and I wondered now, who I was speaking to outside the vehicle.

Leaning forward, I peak at the rearview mirror and roll down the window, signaling for the vehicle that was following us to take lead.

"Just follow them" I instructed Robert, because I have not intention of giving out Angela's location to anyone, not ever my father. I have too many people involved and I can't risk them getting into difficulties because I broke.

I closed my eyes again, but this time my brain was running on overtime.

Yesterday and the day before we were getting breakthroughs with Angela and Justin insists he has a plan for her to call her family with false information.
