Chapter 146 - CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY SIX

Facing Justin is not an easy thing, especially when I felt as if I betrayed him.

Looking back towards the house, maybe Logan and I should do this together so that he's here when Justin pulls a gun on me.

I stare out at the still water, wishing I was healthy enough to take a swim on this hot afternoon.

Dressed in a shorts and loose cotton top does not to help keep me cool, or maybe it's the anticipation of waiting for Justin, that has me this uneasy.

Logan left me here after asking Justin to meet me at the lake, where it could be so easy to get rid of me.

I moved the chair backwards, instinctively.

Chucking to myself, Justin won't push me in the lake, would he?

Or maybe, he'll push me, then rescue me.

I slapped my head at my stupid thoughts, wincing from the sting of the slap.

"Ouch" I heard Justin laugh behind me, "that definitely seemed to hurt" he says as he walks closer to me dragging a lawn chair through the dirt. "It's a good thing I am not on the receiving end," he chuckles, stopping besides me.

Laughing nervously at him, I turned back to the lake. "I might be the one on the receiving end, soon." I commented nervously, before looking back to Justin, who was now frowning at me.

"I would never hit a lady, especially a friend." He responded softly, his eyes narrowed as he appears confused.

"So you won't hit Jessica?" I couldn't help asking because so far, Jer and Logan isn't oppose to bumping her off.

Laughing humourlessly, " Jessica's no lady and I won't slap her, but I am willing to release a bullet to her head." Justin retorted, all smiles disappeared.

I gasp at Justin's words, staring at him in disbelief.

Hearing it this raw is scary.

The third guy whose isn't denying that if they had a choice, they would bump Jess off.

"I'm sorry." I muttered, my eyes reverted to the view in front of me, the beautiful silent lake, that's holding so much of my hidden secrets.

"Do you think there are dead bodies in the lake?" I ask suddenly and it was only when the words were out of my mouth, I realized what I asked.

Justin was silent and I turned to see him staring out at the waters, with signs of mild ripples.

"Do you think there are fishes out there?" Justin ignored my earlier question and asked me another instead.

Feeling mischeivous and needing to lighten the mood between us, "yeah, I think so" I smiled at him.

His curiosity is definitely piqued, "you do" he raised his eyebrows at me quizzically.

Nodding, I stare onto the lake, "yeah, but I think they are all male" I said with a smirk and he turned his entire body around to face me.

"You do?" He asked with a suspicious grin.

"Yep", I said, keeping my eyes on him. "Whenever I go skinny dipping, they would come out and start nibbling at my lower body" I said twisting my body, with a disgusted look of my face.

Justin's eyes widen in shock at what I just said to him, his eyes going between the lake and me. I was struggling to remain sober, at his expression.

Frowning, "maybe I should go skinny dipping tonight and the female fishes will appear." He said, eyes on me for a reaction.

He's testing me!

Nodding in agreement, "yes, I think you should, after midnight though." I tell him, reverting my eyes to the lake.

"You're f**king with me, right?" Justin says suddenly, "I doubt you're carefree enough to go skinny dipping, after midnight." Justin, says sounding still intrigued.

Glaring at him, "not I'm not f**king with you and I have been here alone many times to study and ask my husband, he can verify how carefree I am" I retorted, feigning anger, as his expression changed to a more solemn one.

"I'm sorry Jamie, I didn't mean to upset you" Justin said quickly, looking back to the cabin.

I followed his gaze and saw nothing out of the ordinary.

"What is it?" I asked him.

"Uh," he turns back to me, "Logan asked me to wait here with you while he speaks to his mother, so I am just wondering where he is at." Justin said and I breathe in deeply because I need to get this conversation over and done with.

"Justin, can I share something with you?" I asked suddenly and he nods,

"But first, do you have Amy's number?" I asked him and he frowns.

Nodding slowly, "Amy, yeah, why?" He asks and I lifted my hand to stop him.

Shaking my head, "please, it's important, but I have to speak to her and I never took her number," I explained to Justin who still seemed shocked at my request.

Sighing, "Jamie, I don't know what this is about, but Amy and I are done, she's into your husband, so inviting her into your life is a mistake." Justin warned.

Smiling, "trust me, my husband's wants no one, but me and I promise you it's important." I tried explaining to Justin, again.

"Please!" I pleaded now, when he wouldn't budge, but for some reason, Justin seemed reluctant.

Frustrated now, but I know I cannot betray Amy's trust because having Justin pay her family an unexpected visit is not going to go down well.

"Okay then," I said angrily, "call Logan" I bark at him. This is new to me and I have never spoken to anyone this way, never.

Justin himself seemed shocked at my tone, "Jamie, I don't" Justin was saying when I cut him off.

"CALL LOGAN NOW" I shout out at him and this time he actually seem to have heard me because he quickly took out his phone and dialed a number and gave me his phone.

I cut the call off.

"I said give me her number." I repeated my original question, but softer.
