Chapter 91 - CHAPTER NINETY ONE

By the time Jamie and I went out for a late breakfast, everyone had already eaten and left leaving Jamie and I alone. We sat eating when I remember that I needed to contact Jamie's doctor because I am seriously worried, hoping the bullet that is lodged against her spine hasn't moved.

Standing up, "excuse me, I need to call my former office" I kissed her cheek, "keep my breakfast warm." I walked out already dialing Dr. Morris's number, anxious to make sure that everything is fine.

After making arrangements for the doctor to make a house visit because I cannot take a chance to be seen on the road right now, without attracting the attention of grandfather's people and whoever is out there looking out for us.

If Jamie and mom wasn't present, there would have only been dead bodies for grandfather to find, but now he will have to bail them, instead of burying them.

Cam is in the kitchen speaking to Jamie and what she says, makes me stop.

"Please don't say anything to anyone yet, but at least it means something" Jamie sounds excited, "it's just that Jer refuses to help me and he was weird about it." Jamie continued and I refuse to stand outside and listen in to Jamie's conversation with my best friend.

"Hey" I greeted them as I strolled into the kitchen, noticing that Cam also showered and changed.

"Boss" Can greets me, and I shook a finger at him.

"That's my wife" I chuckle sitting down as Jamie uncovered my breakfast.

Can moves towards the backdoor, "meet outside?" he questions me, walking slowly, but waiting for my answer.

Considering what I should do as dad isn't back yet.

"I'll meet you guys in a bit," I nod indicating that he should leave and leaves with a smirk.

"I have something to tell you" Jamie says nervously.

I frown at what she could be this nervous about, "yeah?" I nod.

"I've decided to start online classes, continuing from where I left off at college" Jamie smiles excitedly.

Surprise, I stood up and hugged her, genuinely happy for her. "Jamie I'm so proud of you sweetheart." feeling her excitement.

Looking into Jamie's eyes, is like looking into the eyes of a child whose finally seen Santa Claus!.

"So I start on Monday" she continues, but I cut her across.

"I can write the university a cheque" I offered, but she shook her head beaming with happiness.

"The are continuing my scholarship" Jamie informs me and I don't know why but I felt disappointed that she's doing this on her own without my help.

Placing a hand in my heart "so you don't need anything from me?" I asked.

Standing, with her hands around my waist, "I always need you" Jamie mummers, tiptoeing to kiss me and I had to lean down a bit to make things easier for her.

We actually made out in the kitchen for a few minute's without any interruptions.

"We need a get some rest because last night was a really long night" Jamie says softly against my lips.

"Hmm," I started sucking on her neck, suddenly wishing for the honeymoon we missed in total peace.

"Logan?" Jamie draws slightly away, "you didn't get any rest," she whispers, "let's go" she moves further away, taking my hand to carry me along with her.

Following her, I opened the door for her leaving her at there, "I have to meet the guys and then I'm all yours" I promised.

Jamie stares into my eyes, her luscious lips pouted enticingly at me. I leaned down and pecked her lips.

"Only bolt the too lock." I instructed her, "I'll be right back" smiling she closed the door on me and I wait until I heard the lock click before leaving.

I am uneasy and I am upset with Jamie for bringing that girl into out territory. Cursing under my breath, I walked outside through the front door and took a stroll around the property, ensuring that everything is normal.

After our early morning run, we have to be alert and with dad still at the mansion, all I can do is watchman on his behalf.

I turned around at the sound of the soft purr of an engine, walking towards the white Range Rover, that belongs to the Phillips, as it slows to a stop in front of me.

With legs apart, I shoved my hands into my jeans pocket, looking around cautiously as I see everything around me as a threat.

Smiling Mr. Phillips climbed out of the vehicle, with his right hand outstretched to me.

Hesitating, my hands in my pocket, Mr. Phillips hand fell as quickly as his smile.

"Mr. Phillips" I nod, "what can I do for you this morning" I got straight to the point with the man who I'm positive, is related to my wife.

"Mr. Daniels" Mr. Phillips greeted me, then looks back to the vehicle. "My wife sent some pastries for Leah, your wife." he suddenly looked less poised, as I stared down at him.

"Why?" I asked bluntly.

Averting his eyes towards the lake, "I think you know" he says looking back to me, "we lost her when her mother, our daughter died and we just want to know her." he explains, taking a deep breath.

Looking briefly towards the front door of the cabin to see Gwen pulling back from the side window.

"Let's take a walk" I invited him and started walking, nodding to a guard who heads towards the cabin.

With our backs facing the cabin, Mr. Phillips and I stood looking at the lake in front of us as I wait for him to speak.

"Her mother, Leah died at childbirth and Leah remained with us for the first few months before her father remarried." Mr. Phillips suddenly starts to answer the questions Jamie has been having about her life.

I decided not to interrupt, allowing him to continue.
