Logan's guilty expression confirms my fears, he knows about the deadly attack on his parents mansion, or from Jer's description, former mansion.
I've been searching for him, since Jer stormed into my room nervous, fearful and panicking after Jess called.
Our eyes clashed, while I stood calmly with folded arms against the kitchen doorway, while my husband seemed to be fighting a war in his mind.
His eyes kept flickering like a light bulb and there's only one conclusion that I can come up with. He's fighting the urge to withhold the truth from me, the truth about his early morning's activities.
Deciding to make it easy for him, I nod, gave him a small smile and turned to leave, when Cameron ran in.
"Got anymore of that" he asks Logan, already opening the refrigerator, "that mother****** worked us to the bone. I think I'll need the entire day to recuperate" he chuckles, continuing, because he apparently haven't seen me yet.
Opening his water, just like Logan did, he starts drinking in font of the open refrigerator. "And I thought my drill Sargent was a f*****up bastard" he continued, after gulping down more than three quarters of the water, taking another one out, before closing the door.
With a quick glance at Logan, after hearing Cameron's words, I wondered if I judged my husband prematurely.
"Uh, hey Jamie" Cameron greets me awkwardly, while my husband and I just stood staring at each other.
With a small smile, I nod politely to Cameron, "you guys were training?" I asked although my gut told me they weren't.
"Yeah and this early morning session confirms that I've been to laid back" he chuckles, slapping his stomach, "I'm out of shape" he added.
Checking him out, I didn't comment on his abs, "I guess you could start cutting back on the late nights and beers" I suggested, smiling casually at Cameron.
Laughing loudly, "no can't do that, it's two of my most favourite pastimes." He opened his second bottle water and started gulping it down, apparently having burnt out a lot of energy this morning.
If they weren't involved in this morning activities at Logan's parents home, then who was.
"Jer woke me awhile ago after reviving a frantic call from Jess about the mansion being under attack" I informed the guys and by the incredulous look in their eyes, I'm wondering if they're award winning actors or they honestly didn't know anything.
"Grandmother!" Logan asked quickly, "was anyone hurt?" Logan ask, pulling his phone out of his pocket, turning to Cameron, "dad's outside, get him" he instructed him and Cameron immediately runs out back, where dad, was obviously at.
Putting the phone to his ear, Logan awaited the person he called to answer.
"F***," Logan mutters when no one answered, then dials again.
Swearing under his breath, then starts dialing again.
Taking a deep breath, "yes, morning," he finally gets through, but with a worried expression in his eyes, "Logan here, I understand there were some trouble at the mansion today" he tells the person on the other end.
Whatever he was being told, "I'll be right over" he informs the person on the other end and hangs up as his father comes into the kitchen, followed by Cameron.
Dad nods at me, then addresses Logan, worry etched in his face with bore a pained expression.
"What happened out there? Was anyone hurt? Let's go." Dad immediately takes control of the situation and leaves to go to upstairs, while Logan comes and hold my shoulders, "Come it's early, go back to sleep" Lagan suggests, escorting me towards the bedroom, taking control.
I allowed him to lead me to the bedroom, because what, he doesn't know is that I'm not staying behind.
While Logan was in the shower, I took that opportunity to change, because I had already showered and had tea and there's no possible way that I am staying behind, especially where my sister's life is involved.
Logan took a quick shower, but I was already dress and waiting.
Frowning as he came out of the bathroom, butt naked, "and where are you going?" he stops to looks at me, which, yet again gives me the nagging feeling, that Logan knows more.
I smiled, "to make sure my sister wasn't hurt." I responded calmly, lifting my chin, anticipating a challenge.
Drying his hair, our eyes still weighing each other out, twitching his lips, he tilts his head, and nods, "okay, then," he smiled, accepting defeat.
Logan returned dressed in a army green T-shirt, that hugs his buff abs and a black, jeans that also hugs his hips, adding to his appeal.
As usual, with a smirk, he watches me checking him out, appreciating what is mine, "ready," I stood up and he walked towards the wheelchair.
Shaking my head, "I'm good" I stopped him and with his eyes on my feet, that is now clad in a comfortable Nike, which completes my all black jeans and loose shirt combo.
Choosing not to oppose me, he walks back to the bathroom, where his dirty clothes are scattered on the ground and takes his phone out of his pocket, but continues searching.
I folded my arms to wait, needing to emphasize my impatience. "It's over here" I told him, when he won't stop searching the same pants over and over with a slightly panicked expression.
Turning around, I held his wallet out to him, "where did you think you lost it?" I asked, noticing his deep sigh of relief.
"Outside of course" he hugs me across the waist as we walked out. He stops and secures the backdoor and then, the bedroom door, securing the door with two locks.
Looking at him questioningly, "our new house guest" he answers my unspoken question, cuddling me, on our way out.
Mom, dad, Cameron, Justin, Jer and two other guys were waiting, for the short journey to the Daniels Mansion, where my estranged sister presently resides.
