JAMIE'S POV
Logan walks closer to where Jer and I stood and I suddenly became conscious, realizing that he must have heard about Jer and mines monetary problems.
"Jerome, Jamie, we are family, you guys are not suppose to be having financial issues and I want to pay you back for what you have done around here." Logan tells him sincerely.
Shaking his head, Jer refuses with a smile, "Grey, don't sweat it. Jamie and I have been struggling with it since Grams died" Jer looked down at me, in admiration.
Nodding, knowing all the sacrifices that Jer and I have been making to keep Jess's reputation clean, but.... "take me inside, I'm tired" I tell Jer, who instantly looks at Logan, before lifting me bridal style and carries me into the the cabin.
"Oh my gosh, put me down, put me down!" I told Jer excitingly, fidgeting in his arms. "Put me down" I demanded when he didn't put me down.
Standing, I held Jer's hand, "this is yours" I told him.
The interior of the cabin had been totally changed, but the woodwork stayed intact. The huge logs were vanished in a golden brown tone. Holding the wall refusing help from the guys, I hobbled to the kitchen and gasp at the new designs.
Turing to look at a smiling Jer, "when did you get to do all of this?" I looked at the cupboard and appliances that matches the color scheme on the outside of the cabin. I'm amazed that he did all of this on his own. "This must have cost a fortune" I exclaimed, suddenly wishing I had the funds to repay Jer for all of this. His inheritance is his future and I can't take that from him.
Mom walked behind me, "I've been looking at the rooms and it's absolutely beautiful" she comments as she walk into the kitchen followed by Mrs. Stanley.
Chuckling, as Mrs. Stanley opens the cupboards and refrigerator , that's only recognisable because of the protruding handles. "No thanks to me" I said, "it's all Jer's" I commented, looking back at him, proudly. Jer has confirmed his maturity at a young age, just as I did.
"I must commend Logan on his choice in choosing a bride, brother and sister are self-sacrificing" mom says, with hidden meanings.
I walked slowly towards Logan who stood leaning against the wall, with folded arms observing us with a frown creasing his forehead and a far off look in his eyes.
I was literally up in his face before he realize that I was there, "hey" I threw myself at him and he instinctively threw his arms around me to steady me incase I was falling. "Nice catch" I laugh softly in his arms.
"Where's my room?" I turned to ask Jer.
Before I realize what was happening, "allow me madam" Logan says, swooping me up in his arms bridal style, walking towards the back of the cabin, where Gramps did an extension when he fell sick. Logan pushed the slightly open door, and I was absolutely shock.
Jer changed the room completely by extending the room with an adjoining door. "Did Jer gave me my own bathroom?" I giggled happily.
Logan nodded putting me on the bed and sitting beside me. "I can't get over how Jer was able to organize all of this in such a short space of time" I confessed. "Did he know about all of this sooner?" I wondered aloud.
Logan turn me to face him, "when you mention that Jer was never around, I found out that during that time, he and Justin were working night and day, along with some college friends and neighbors around to have here completed" Logan explains.
Leaning my head on his chest, "I'm just concerned about the amount of money he spent on his own. I have to replace it, even if he don't want it. I made choices on how I spent my money, he didn't have to follow me and make the same sacrifices that I was making, because of all the additional expenses Jess put us through every month." Realizing I've already said to much, I simply shut up.
Logan tenses up as I stopped speaking before staring at me. I smiled instantly. I'm here in one of the most romantic place on earth with Logan, 'you know, I wanted to come here for a honeymoon but I wanted to surprise you and now, here we are." My smile slowly fading, "I can't be the type of wife you need anymore" I sadly stare out the window, at the leaves that rustle as the soft wind blows through it.
Logan didn't say anything, so I continue to babble nervously, "I can't wait for you to see the lake at sunrise and at sunset. There are lawn furnitures in the store room at the back that Gamps used plastic to protect during the bad weather. Grams use to send Jer alone to keep the property clean, so I guess that he got used to being here without me." I kept chattering while Logan sat quietly and listen and this quiet Logan is a dangerous Logan.
Ignoring all that I just shared, Logan stood up, "I need a shower", he said, "you want to join me" he smirks.
I just want as much time as possible with him so I greedily agreed, lifting myself to stand with Logan's assistance.
Logan opened the bathroom door for me. I wanted to jump and scream when I saw the large fully equip bathroom, that was already packed with towels and all my favourite shampoos, soaps and oils, already packed on shelves and I still have to check the cupboards.
"Wow!" was all I could muster.
Gently pushing me further into the bathroom, "now let's get down to business" Logan chuckles and I needed no encouragement.
After a family dinner without only Jess, who I missed so badly, but she's made her choice, for now!
