Chapter 49 - CHAPTER FORTY NINE

JAMIE'S POV

Mom left and Logan is still not back yet. Frowning, realizing that Jer and Jess hasn't been up to check on me either.

Maybe Logan told her that I showered already. Patting my hand, I searched around as far as my hands could reach, for my phone.

"Again?" I whined, looking at the dresser, unable to clearly see the top from where I sat upright on the bed.

Logan stormed into the bedroom, red with anger, as he see me sitting on the bed looking at him bewildered, his expression softens with a sad apologetic look.

Lips quivering, I wait for him to say something. Instead he turns away, pulling some papers from under his jersey and walked into the closet.

Apparently composting himself, he returned outside with my phone in his hand, just staring at it.

"I was looking for that, I said softly.

He looks up as if he just remembered that I'm in the room.

"Who gave you this?" he asked instead, showing me the phone.

Unsure as to why he wanted to know, "Grandfather" I told him, remembering when I was released from the hospital, grandfather moved in here, leaving his estate. He said that he wanted to stay close because Logan would expect him too.

Coming to sit on the bed, I reached across for my phone.

Smiling, with just his lips, "I need to keep this for a while and I need to borrow your headset." he tells me.

He was happy before going downstairs. Something must have happen to upset him, but what? Why am I constantly asking myself questions these days? Hmm, I guess as I look at the bed, I'm sitting on right now, I'm reminded that I am no longer independent!

"Jamie? Jamie"? my shoulders shook, as Logan calls me.

I look up at him, with a blank expression, to see a worried expression on his face.

"What changed? " I asked instead.

He pulled me to his chest, but this time I didn't hug him back.

Sensing something was wrong now, loosening his hold on me, "do you trust me?" Logan asks with an intense look.

I am so emotionally drained, I only stared at him. When would the drama in my life end.

I look towards the bathroom door, but I refused to ask for help again.

Where is my brother and my sister.

"Jamie?" Logan calls me again. But his expression earlier, says so much more and for some reason I'm scared.

"Your mom!" I blinked the tear that threatened, "can you call your mom please?" I asked instead.

"Do you need to use the washroom?" he asked concern.

I love my baby, but I hate this emotional rollercoaster I'm constantly on.

Adjusting myself, I moved away from him and laid back down. Closing my eyes, I will go to the bathroom later. I thought.

Opening my eyes only to realise that I fell asleep again. I looked around the dimly lit room only to realise that I'm alone and I need to use the bathroom.

I slowly got up and gently lifted my feet off the bed and placed it on the floor. Smiling confidently.

I can do this!

I looked towards the wall on my right, if I can get there, I'm awesome.

I'm not a cripple, yet, but, because of the pain, that's unbearable without pain killers, it makes movements difficult.

Standing, up, ready to bear the pain for my Angel, I started walking along the back of the bed and there, I started crawling towards the wall.

There, I started my journey towards the bathroom, as I learn to stop being afraid.

Smiling, as I sat on my bed, freshly showered and wrapped in a clean towel, which is most comfortable now.

Not having a comb nearby, I ran my fingers through my hair, tying it into a messy bun.

Gently, pushing myself backwards, I settled myself, looking around. Dinner!

Closing my eyes, as I await some attention, I heard the door open. Glancing up, I saw Logan walking up to me narrowing his eyes, staring at me with a confused expression.

"You showered?" he asked, knowing that he didn't leave me in a towel.

Nodding, excitedly "Yep, I feel so refresh, now I'm hungry." I told him.

Like a predator, Logan approached me, "Jamie, who helped you to the bathroom?" he asked, ignoring my request for food.

Suddenly feeling guilty as if I just committed a crime.

Tilting my head, I look at him.

"Would you like me to repeat my question?" Logan asks again.

I glared at him, "Mr attorney, I'm not on trial here" wishing I could stand and oppose him comfortably.

I could see the side of his lip starts twitching, but he didn't give in, as he tries to intermediate me with a stare.

Raising my eyebrows, I stared him down, "I'm hungry" I reminded him, looking down and patting my stomach for emphasis.

"Uh, huh" he said, turning to walk back out the door.

"Hey!" I yelled at his retreating back, as my smile starts diminishing only to increase as I see him casually stroll back in with two bags from Grillers.

"Yes!" I clasp my hands together excited.

Logan glances at me for a brief moment, turning to close the door behind him and walking to the table putting the bags down.

Laying out disposable plates and forks, he started dishing out the food.

"You've made me the happiest girl ever" I couldn't help but say. as I look at Logan.

Turning to face me, "oh no Missy, this is not for you. I'm having a special dinner date with a special lady" he says pointing to me, "who isn't you" he stated, turning to finish dishing out the food.

Leaning back on my pillow, with folded arms, "I need to get dress before your special lady gets here" I pouted.

When he was finish, he used a cloth to cover the food and smiled.
