Chapter 32 - CHAPTER THIRTY TWO

LEAH/JAMIE'S POV

Observing us, narrowing her eyes at Logan as he sat close me with a arm thrown across my shoulders.

"Already got that chain around my grandson's neck anchored with a ball?" she challenges me.

Taking up the challenge, I stare her directly her eyes, "yes, it's anchored in my heart" I answered her flatly touching my chest.

If she was surprise by my response, she only revealed it with her tensed shoulders and clenched jaw.

With a dry smile, she turns to Logan, "we have some guests over for dinner. I trust your new bride not to embarrass me with her attire or lack thereof" she says looking at my skinny jeans and T-shirt.

Standing up, because my grams taught me to walk away from people like Logan's grandmother and refusing to be insulted for my dress code or lack thereof. "I'm sorry, I won't be joining you for dinner tonight because my husband told me to pack light and I am so tired, because of your grandson" I turn and tapped his shoulders, " he kept me up all night" I said watching her wrinkled face screw up in anger.

Turning to Logan, "where's our room?" I asked. glaring at him.

With a twinkle in his eyes, "Jamie and I will be missing your dinner tonight. I have court early tomorrow and work to do" Logan puts an arm around my waist. "Enjoy your dinner" he tells her, leading me out the door.

Waving at her, "it was a pleasure to meet you" I told her as Logan pulled me out.

Chuckling softly. "when mom hears of this meeting, she'll be elated" Logan says.

Missing my handbag. "wait. my handbag" I said, walking briskly back to the room, where his grandmother was.

As I was about to enter the room, "find a reason to get Logan out of the room when they get here. Take this, put it in his drink, then make sure that tramp finds them together" Logan's grandmother instructs, whoever she's talking to.

I waltz into the room towards the chair, picking up my handbag, smiling at the maid's stunned expression and his grandmother's angry glare. " thank God I forgot this, don't you think?" I ask waltzing back out shaking like a leaf been blown by hurricane winds.

I met Logan and the elderly chauffeur speaking, where I left him.

"I need to leave, now" I say,, blinking tears away.

"Okay" Logan agrees instantly.

"No" the chauffeur interrupted us, turning to me. "There are more security here to keep you and Logan out of harms way" the chauffeur explains. I look at the uncertainty in Logan's eyes.

"Okay" I agree to remain, "but I" Logan cut me off.

"No, Jamie, we'll go to a hotel" he suggests.

Determined to keep my husband safe, even in this hellhole, "no, we'll stay. but I'm hungry and I don't want anything from her kitchen" I told the chauffeur pointing to the room I just left.

Smiling at me and then at Logan. "don't worry dinner will be served in the secret place" he whispers to Logan. "Maybe a sleepover? Your luggage is still in the car" the chauffeur suggests, to which Logan readily agrees.

Chuckling, "you know my thoughts before I think of it" Logan muses.

Walking out, "Logan come say hello to the kitchen staff before you settle for the evening." the chauffeur says, as the maid who was speaking to Logan's grandmother approached us or actually approach Logan.

"Mr Daniels, may I show you to your room?" she offers kindly.

"I know the way" Logan said with a polite smile, " I want Jamie to see the garden before it gets darker"

The maid, nod, "yes sir" she says and walks back to the room, she just came from,.giving me a sad look.

Did they select plan B?

Logan stops abruptly, "go with Stanley, I'll be right back" He whispers in my ear.

I held his arm, shaking my head, my eyes pleading at him to stay.

He kisses my head, "I heard, trust me" he said walking, towards a staircase ahead.

I followed the chauffeur, whose name was Stanley into a kitchen that was bigger than my entire downstairs floor.

"Wow, it's beautiful" I blurted out.

Stanley the chauffeur, stands beside me ," the garden is this way" he said, before whispering to a lady with an apron around her waist.

She looks at me, smiling politely, before going into another room, while we waited, she returned with a bag, "young Mr Daniels favourites" she said, handing the bag to me..

"Enjoy your evening walk" she waves, "see you at dinner" she walks back inside, as I stare at her confused.

Chuckling, "she just wants everyone to know she didn't steal these items" he indicates the bag in my hand.

Stanley led me through the garden then on a trail then off the trail. I was nervous but I still followed him.

Stanley led me to a door that was hidden with bushes, knocking on the door.

The door was instantly opened wide, by Logan. Putting the bag down I rushed towards him, hugging him.

"Did you really dislike my company this much?" Stanley laughs, walking away. "I'll be back"

Logan opens the door wider, inviting me in, "Welcome to my humble abode" he says as I look around at what some would call a man cave.

"I'm going on a wild guess here, " your clubhouse?" I asked him.

Looking around with pride, "like it?" he asks taking me to a couch, covered with plastic. Pulling off the plastic, Logan pulls the couch open to a bed. Opening a draw, he pulls out a sheet and pillow cases.

"I called ahead so these linen are clean" he chuckles. "I can feel the heat of your blood boiling from here" he says, putting down the linen, he comes to hug me from behind.

"I know my grandmother's traits, but I took a chance by bringing you here,"
