Chapter 33 - CHAPTER THIRTY THREE

LOGAN'S POV

Even though my mother hates here, this place, my grandmother, she preferred I stay here until the verdict is read tomorrow morning. I put Jamie in the spotlight before I heard about the threat, so I now have to protect not only her, but Jerome and Jessica.

My parent offered their home to us, because it's so much larger but having Jamie live with in-laws isn't a good way to start off, judging by my mother and grandmother's relationship.

Stanley and two other workers who are no longer with us, built this room for me when I was younger so that I could stay out of the adults bickering and over the years, it's the only place I stay, when I visit here.

I followed Jamie's eyes as it roam the room. Am I, a multi millionaire doing right by my wife, causing her to live in such a small place, when I am able to offer her so much more.

Smiling she turns to me, "All we need now is a stove" she gleams, turning around, jumping on the unmade bed.

Even though I'm not surprise, I couldn't help but ask, "you actually like it?"

"Yes, of course" she frowns, "did you expect me not too?" she's asks me, looking disappointed.

Shaking my head, "U never cease to amaze me", I said, pulling her off the bed, " let's neaten up here. Stanley's wife will bring dinner soon" I tell her, dusting the bed, before opening the sheet to spread it out.

Sitting in a one seater couch, she stares at me, but I can see her thoughts are far away.

"Justin will call you later so you can speak to them" I tell her.

Nodding, "I trust you Logan" she said, "I'm hungry" she adds, getting up, rummaging though the bag of snacks Stanley got for us.

"There's water, soda and other drinks in the mini fridge" I point to where it was located in the far corner of the room.

Taking out two apples, rinsing it in the tap, offering one to me, sitting in front the already made up bed. Joining her on the floor, eating apples as I share my life growing up in this castle and my grandparents life.

By the time Stanley and his wife came with our luggage and dinner, Jamie claim to be starving. They kept bringing up my childhood antics, bringing tears and laughter to Jamie's eyes.

The reminiscing reminded me how much Stanley and his wife did for me.

They brought me up when my parents were away on fashion shows and promotions and I was forced to stay in this prison.

Wanting to leave this place is the reason I join the fashion industry in the first place. Bored with just tagging along, I actually got involved in designing and in my years before and during college I dated dozens of models. but over the years, I realize it was all for advertising.

The one girl I was actually serious about didn't want a relationship behind the camera. She wanted me to be the heartthrob that every female under ninety wanted causing her to be the envy of all. It was all for the attention and during my last two years at college, I took a break. A break from the public and a break from her because fame. money and my family's name was all she craved.

Focusing on building the career I wanted, a career that bought me where I am today and where I am with Jamie.

The radiant beauty by my side may not be my grandmother's choice, because she's not materialistic, or in the same social circles as my ex and grandmother.

There was a knock on the door and I opened it to find my grandfather at the doorstep my clubhouse, with a plastic bag in his hand

"Grandfather!" I was surprise to see him.

"Can I hide here with you and do you have anything left to eat?" he chuckles, as he moves me aside, to walk in.

Grandfather looks at Jamie in adoration as she gets of the couch making room for him to sit down.

"I'll get you something to eat" she offers, going towards the containers that are packed on the counter.

Turning to look at him with an empty disposable plate in her hand, "what can I give you? There is .." she was saying until he cut her off.

"Give me a bit of everything because I'm definitely cheating on my diet tonight" he says chuckling.

Grandfather takes the plate of food from Jamie's hand but refuses the bottle water.

"Thank you sweetheart, but I'm too young to be having water with my dinner" he tells her chuckling. Turning to me, "did you really think I stocked your refrigerator with you in mind?" he mocks me. "Now get the old man something strong to drink, so I die a happy man, should death knocks on my door tonight" he tells me as Jamie looks at him horrified.

Glaring at my insensitive grandfather, I got him a shot of brandy thrusting it into his hand.

His eyes moves from mines shooting across to Jamie's who suddenly got quiet, as she remembers her loved ones, especially her grams.

With a soft smile, " I'm sorry Jamie" he apologizes. "From experience I can tell you that when it's time to go, the only sadness one feels is leaving the ones who loves them the most behind" he says quietly.

Breaking the silence that followed my grandfather's sentimental comment.

Frowning, "I'm confused, from what experience you are talking about?" Mrs Stanley asks, as we all laughed except grandfather and Jamie.

Grandfather glares at us while Jamie walks,up, kissing him on the cheek.

"Thank you Mr Daniels, but please don't leave me yet. You still have to spoil your great grandson" Jamie tells grandfather, taking the drink from his hand. "I have something that will help you remain longer with us"
