LOGAN'S POV
Nodding to Justin, Who quietly ushers Jess and Jerome to another part of the suite.
Staring into the eyes, that have captivated me from the first moment, I stared into it and now these beautiful grays belong to the girl whose life matters the most to me.
Taking her hands, as she sits down, I kneel in front of her with my hands now on her shoulders.
"I need to tell you something that's important" I started, staring into her eyes, as she narrow her eyes suspiciously at me. "You could get very angry but keep in mind though that there will be absolutely no annulment and no divorce" I say nodding at her now confused countenance, hoping that she understands
"Keep going," she encourages me cautiously.
"Right" I say looking away for a brief moment trying to get my bearings together.
"Are you wondering why we married so quickly? I mean I happy that we are, but did it cross your mind why?" I ask her.
She nods, "yes, but you said we'll discuss it later,. I trust you, do now is later, I guess" she says flatly, still watching me cautiously.
"Is it about that, girl?" she asks and this time I'm confused.
"Girl!" I repeated
"Yes, the one who said that she is engaged to you?" she raises her eyebrows looking at me as if it's like 'duh'!
Cringing my face at her question, causing her to chuckle softly but it didn't reach her eyes.
"We, Amy and I were never together! " I told her flatly. "In fact the only guy she dated around me over the years is Justin, my best friend" I emphasize at she shocked expression.
"My parents chose me to walk the runway with some models for certain pieces, since I was fourteen or fifteen. Amy was one of those models, We became friends because she and Justin started dating under low. I was a decoy" I tell her, finally seeing her eyes relax a bit.
'So what happened? " she asks with concern now.
"Honestly, I'm not sure, One day she just opt and left our circle of friends and Justin. now over a year later, here she is back and all clingy on me pretending we're a couple. Whatever's going on is definitely her manipulative mother's doing. I'm sure and I will find out when I'm done with, " I pause to look at her now relax features. "my main problem now is"
"The reason for our quickie marriage. I'm working on a case against some criminals and it's taken a bad turn for them but a good turn for me. The jury was in deliberation, but last night I got a message that the jury is out and the possibility is that if I win a threat was made to my family. Last night our engagement was announced and that also puts you in the middle of the threat." I pause to see her reaction, but there was none. I reluctantly continue.
"I needed to get you and and family out of harms way immediately and marrying earlier seemed like at good option last night" I tell her.
"So you regret, us? our marriage?" she asked.
"F**k no! I can never pretend that you're unimportant to me. I pretended to be a model for you and you know know how much I detest modeling."
She chuckles as she remember the GUNS first shoot and the ladies swooning every time they saw me. She agreed that even I'd I'm the best, she won't use me again because women throwing themselves at me is not in her best interest.
All humor aside, "I have to keep Jess and Jer safe. What do I do now?" she asks as worry lines creased her forehead.
"We! What would we do now!" I corrected her.
"Putting her arms around my neck, hugging me to her chest, "I have to keep Logan, Jer and Jess. Oh yeah and Logan safe now. So what do we do" she smiles wearily emphasizing the we.
"Well Jerome already knows, so I have a plan. You Jerome and Jessica will go to my parents lake house for a few weeks till this blows over" I suggested.
She stands instantly pushing me away, "What? You don't get to make important decisions about my life. Our life" She paused correcting herself, moving to walk pass me.
Justin and Jerome came in to see her pretty face screwed up in anger
Chuckling, "Ah the first fight" Jerome said.
Turning and pointing at him, "and you mister, I'm not done with you yet" she spoke loudly at him, before turning her still angry self to face me.
"We're a family and I'm not running and hiding because there's possible danger looming around." she says as her tone softens.
Walking towards me she hugs me, "I'm sorry" she says softly and lovingly.
Wrapping my arms around her, resting my chin on her head.
I am so afraid that these guys would seek her out that I'm choosing to hide her. I knew she wouldn't leave me alone, she would stay. Just like she did when her parents died and when her grams died. She remained to take care of those important to her. It's one if the reasons I love her so much.
"What do you suggest" I ask someone other than my parents for the first time in my life, putting my well being into the hands of another, my wife.
"Jer and Jess will go to your parents and Justin and I will stay with you, while you deal with the courts ruling and the threats, I will help Justin get Amy back" she says calmly turning to look at a surprise Justin, who now glared at me angrily.
"And you" she turns to me, "we're in this together!"
Wow, this is what being married is all about. Meeting each other halfway but by the looks of it, she's got this round.
