The following day Satay awoke with excitement for what was to come. Eagerly leaping out of the top bunk, he looks to the windows. The sun glinting it, just beyond the horizon. Stay looked behind him to see Andy. He was still asleep. Andy was woken up by Satay like a child to a parent.
With a low groan, Andy removed himself from bed. Half asleep he proceeded to put on his uniform, while Stay dressed in his shroud and black pants. Exiting the room Satay hurried his friend. Andy followed sloppily dragging his feet across the hall.
Proceeding to the back building, they passed the lunch hall and into a room. Professor Pandesal stood at the center of the lecture hall in front of his desk. He waved at the boys and adjusted his glasses. Satay and Andy stood in front of the man like soldiers at roll call. "Good morning, and I welcome you both to the first day of your curriculum here at Royal Grandia Academy." he said, holding out his arms to beck the boys to take in their surroundings.
The room had 3 aisles of tiered seats that each had a countertop table on each row. The sides each had a chapel window to fill the room with sunlight. In the center, of course, was Pandesals desk with a chalkboard behind it.
Andy paid no real interest, but Satay was fascinated with the whole room. "This was supposed to come with a guided tour, but since you came days early no one was prepared." Pandesal said. He suddenly stared at Andy intensely. "I hope Mr.Thurston could help you." he said, making Andy shrink in his shadow.
"He helped out a lot. If it wasn't for him I would've had to wait until classes were over." Satay said gratefully, relieving his friend. Professor Pandesal eased up on Andy and cleared his throat. "I'm glad to hear and even more to have a fellow Lyncan in the Kingdom. To commemorate your first day I present you your uniform."
Prof. Pandesal held out a fabric of dark-purple and black. With awed eyes, Satay graciously took the garb. As he flung it out, he noticed this uniform was different than Andy's. It was like his shroud. The only difference was the lack of a hood and the diagonal cut-off was lower.
Satay wasted no time removing his red/charcoal one, and worse the new clothes over his torso.
"I know you've come a long way, may this bridge the gap from Triskelion and Lync. I'm here for all my students. Even the ones who sleep in on the first day." Pandesal said making Andy flinch.
"Thank you sir." Satay said happily
"Class is about to begin, after which I'll formally introduce you to your next teacher. Also my apologies for the door to your room. I'm nothing if stern." Pandesal said, he looked like he wanted to say more but halted at the sound of footsteps.
Satay gave a silent nod and took himself and Andy to mid-tier seats.
As the class began to arrive they all noticed Satay and stared at him taking their seats. Whispers could be heard en masse. Satay paid no mine, only interested in the class session. He also didn't notice the students didn't sit too close to him when they could help it.
"I welcome you all to your second, and for SOME first class of Mana Theorum." Pandesal said, making sure Andy picked up on the sentence. He could only shrink at his previous folly.
"Now let's get started." Pandesal declared, with a strong bellow.
