Satay had split from Andy after class and went to the gymnasium. While he only met Hanson briefly he already liked the man. If only Andy was so lucky.
"(Ah well, he'll warm up to him eventually.)" Satay thought, entering the gym to see students line up to the side. He was preoccupied with the prince before so he didn't notice the separate space before. Satay entered the area followed by other students.
"Welcome Students!" a man's voice bellowed as hardy as Pandesals.
Before the mass of students, Satay saw a man brawny and taller than Hanson. His height was almost equal to Prof. Pandesals. The gentleman brandished a golden combover, and worse a turquoise tank top and pants. His facial features were solid as a brick and his nose was like an arrowhead made of stone.
These traits paled in comparison to his mustache, the curved yet solid exterior was only defined more by his green eyes "It looks like everyone's here. Prepare yourselves. I don't plan on going easy on you kids from here." he said firmly, his muscles pulsing.
He waved a hand and all the mana rings moved sequentially around the room. They formed a circle and extended laterally, they flattened and became only inches tall.
"Alright manas up." the man commanded. All the students emitted blue auras one by one. Satay admired the glow emanating from his fellow students intrigued by their manas. But he also felt like the elephant in the room.
Satay was in the second row so the teacher couldn't see him. The students beside him did, however. Before the awkward staring could continue Satay raised his hand slowly. "Don't worry Mr.Satay I have something to sort you." the man said, Satay didn't so much as whisper.
"The rest of you." he said to the class. With a shimmer, a replica of the teacher appeared at his side.
"Laps, eight times around." the clone commanded. They started on the path created by the rings and became nothing more than streaks of blue off in the distance. The replica followed at the end to make sure no student fell back on purpose.
"Now for you Mr.Satay. First off my name is Mr.Lee." Lee said extending his hand for Satay. Taking it into his ow he firmly gripped the man's hand and admired his defined mustache.
"Nice to meet you sir." Satay said.
"I've been informed of your situation, so I'll be advising you one on one." Mr. Lee said, revealing a pair of hefty beige gloves.
"Uh, Sir?" Satay question inspecting the gloves. They were padded like mittens.
Mr.Lee strapped on the gloves and emitted a blue aura more fierce than the others. "Alright, start by just aiming at the gloves, get loosened up." Lee said raising his gloves. Satay felt conflicted his mother always made it a point not to question teachers.
Lyncans at any age were deadly to humans. Although the more Satay inspected the teacher, the more he realized how different he was compared to his classmates.
Compared to the prince, his presence was more overbearing. Satay felt reassured the more he felt that sensation and impulsively readied himself. Even if his mother was his standard on strength this man was no slouch, human or no.
What sounded like a blown open tire, echoed in the room, gaining the other students' attention.
Satay sent a blow right into Lee's right glove. Lee was still in place relatively unmoved. Satay threw punch after punch in a small burst, making sure to keep aim at the gloves.
Mr.Lee, however, stood his ground it looked like he still hadn't moved. What's more, Mr.Lee seemed unphased. Satay smiled as he took a deep breath.
"Warmed up? If so let's start for real. Gimme 1-2 combinations, make em good." Lee said adjusting his stance.
His mana never faltered, the still running students were being scolded by the doppelganger for trying to slow down to spectate.
Satay took a proper stance, he wasn't unfamiliar with boxing terms. He lunged in, and threw the first punch, kicking up a typhoon out of the glove. He immediately threw a right and the contact could be felt by the whole room.
A full-blown hurricane revolved around the two. Satay looked at Mr.Lee and he couldn't contain his excitement. The wind was still going, but he was steady as a mountain. The mana venting from his body did not falter. "(He's strong for a human.)" as noted by Satay.
He continued to attack the gloves, knowing he didn't have to hold back. At the behest of Lee's doppelganger, the rest of the class hurried with their laps. They never took their eyes off Satay and Mr.Lee.
"Ok, good running, 50 situps, 50 push-ups, and 50 squats." commanded the copy. The students were feeding off Satay's momentum, as it didn't take them long to finish their sets. Some of their auras began to diminish, but they were not spent. In Tandem with Satay, Mr.Lee commanded him to follow up with jabs and hard punches.
Lee beckoned to Stay "One more, c'mon! Hunting Hawk!" Satay leapt to Lee raising both legs. Hunting Hawk was a turn of phrase for three kicks using both legs off the ground. He spun to kick the gloves in successive spins, landing in front of Lee. is mana had shrunk but only slightly.
"Alright, that's all for today." Both Lees said. The replica disappeared and Lee brought down his mana. "Keep that energy up, see you all tomorrow." he said taking off the smoldering mitts.
"Yes sir!" the students said, ceasing their own mana. Letting out long breaths, they exited the gym. Satay was bout to follow suit but noticed Mr.Lee was staring at him.
"Something wrong sir?" he asked.
Upon seeing the way he made him fidget Mr.Lee eased up and held a hand up to apologize. "N-No, No, No, you can go. You must be hungry." he said. Satay nodded unsure of what his teacher thoughts and left his sight.
Mr.Lee gripped his chin in thought. "He didn't look sick. But he wasn't holding back at all." he thought aloud. He inspected the gloves, they were a bit roughed up, but nothing a good cleaning won't fix.
"Pandesal has little combat experience and he hits harder than that." Lee thought more puzzled at the gloves.
Satay felt unwound and entered the lunch hall eager to eat the first thing he saw. Looking at the trays ready to serve, he saw Andy standing in line. He approached his friend to see him slumped and depressed.
"Hey, Andy, what's wrong?" Satay asked.
"Hey, Satay. The teacher had it out for me and she called me out for sleeping in yesterday. In front of everyone and she just made me her punching bag for tough questions. It was awful..." Andy said on the brink of tears.
FEEL THIS! PERVERT!
A girl's scream echoed as she ran through the halls. A male student was running from the girl as she attempted to add to the bruises on his head.
While he was processing what just happened, Satay glimpsed a shadow going in the same direction.
"Who was that?" he thought. Lunch might have to wait. There was a rat in the walls.
