Chapter 63 - Departuring from Arunte

"Have you heard anything about Amagiri lately?" Koku asked the lady at the front desk trying to see if any news of his fight with Celestia had spread around or was covered up. "Hmmm, i can't say for certain…" The lady, a blond crossed her arms deep in thought as just a few seconds off from Koku's next question, her finger shot up, holding it up right below her chin, and with a slight smile she told Koku.

"Actually, yea something recently happened in Amagiri. Just shy of three weeks ago at Warrior's spring, an attack happened on the training groups for some joint training session thing. I think it was a small revolt that led up to it. Since I heard something about that, I might be wrong about that though." Hearing this peeked Koku's interest a little bit so he asked a little about it and she told him bluntly that she didn't know anything else and that he might have better luck talking to the adventurers for more information regarding that.

"Ahh anyways, thank you for telling me. If it's fine, could I ask something about the guilds? If I were to say… take up a mission here, could I claim the rewards at another adventurers guild?" Koku asked the young lady scratching the back of his head with an awkward smile.

Seeing his awkward smile, she chuckled to herself so she began to speak up. "You haven't read the adventurer's guide book have you? to answer your question, yes, you may collect the rewards in another guild. Although it means you'd have to do one of two things, those being either taking the objective item to that guild or have a verification mana card." Saying this she then went onto state something about the mana card.

"In the case you do obtain a mana card, that's when you've brought the item to a guild and choose to collect the rewards at another date. Although the mana cards themselves are a one time use item; they contain all of the information about the transaction needed and may take a little bit of time to verify. They are also given a white appearance through pure mana, which then gets taken from you and tainted with impure mana as a sign of approval and use. After that the card turns black and just becomes a simple card."

Hearing this Koku sighed thanking the lady for the useful information, and she tossed him an adventurers guidebook. "You should read it sometime, and your welcome Mr. handsome." Hearing this Koku looked away thinking about the fact he was called handsome, "That's a first…" he thought as he said his farewells leaving the guild.

"Time to head out to Amagiri again. There's things I need to do there." Koku told himself looking at a few clouds hanging over the very bright morning sky. So as he made his way to the gates, he found Airi standing nearby talking to the guards. When she noticed him standing there, she walked right over after departing from the very talkative guards. "Heyoo, so i guess i won't be seeing you for a while, right?" she asked, tilting her head slightly over in a cute way, her expression cheerful as always.

"Yea, it'll be a while but I'll definitely be back soon. I'll treat you to a meal when that time comes." Koku smiled slightly as he then looked past the gates feeling the gentle breeze. "Think i should head out now." He reminded her as she stayed silent. Seconds after reminding her, she sighed, greeting him with a bright smile once again. "Sure thing, i'll be waiting for that day Toshiro" right after this she gave him a pat on the shoulder and a map to go along with him wherever he ends up. "Don't get lost" she reminded Koku as she'd believed him to be bad with directions.

After parting ways, she yelled something for him to hear. "Bye, safe travels!" After this, Koku waved at her, basically saying his goodbyes. "She's weird." he thought to himself as he left, heading to Amagiri once again.

"I wonder if they're still there. If so, i'm curious to see something about Yuusha…the proclaimed hero…" Koku spat at his name as he didn't really like him at all, alongside the fact he never acted like a hero around himself. "Just what the heck did i do to him to be on the receiving end of whatever he has against me…" Koku pondered, remembering the academy entrance exams.

"Ohh that's right, I kinda did reject his offer to join his group, and... the academy games. Nevermind i can uhh, kinda understand? No I can't." Koku corrected himself and questioned why he was even thinking so much into this. "I have more important things to consider" Koku spoke in his head pointing his hand at a clearing in the trees trying to summon his Void monsters. "It's not working…" he sighed hoping the Mana would either become tranquil or be expelled from his body by the Void.

So as he walked in the midst of the forest which would lead to a road he could take all the way to the outskirts of Paladonia, Koku tried a number of things to see how much of the void energy and mana he could use with effectiveness. "It keeps shifting like their fighting over control over my main power stream. Though the constant i'd say it around 50% with each taking 50-60% every now and then just to die back down to 50 or lower under the other." When he finished this thought, he noticed that the forest for some reason seemed to guide him back where he once saw the clearing.

"Mana…" Koku muttered seeing faint traces of it scattered throughout the air because of his genesis eyes which he had activated for a moment suspicious of a third party. "Someone's probably nearby, and i get the feeling whoever it is, wants something from me, or…" Koku then thought that someone might have been testing his adaptability to random situations.

"if this is illusion magic, then exerting mana into the air should waver it, and if i exert a lot, the illusions should just break down." He decided to try just that. So as he closed one eye, he kept the other open, therefore keeping it in its genesis form, and as he opened the other eye, the eyes of time were combining into one with the eyes of genesis.

"It's more stressful on me to merge the powers of two of my eyes into one all together." Koku thought feeling his eyelids become a little heavy. However, this didn't really matter too much since now he could see if anything happens as he analyzes everything around concentrating on the feeling of his now mana flow inside of himself, trying to push out some of it, while it was already in turmoil with the Void energy in his body.

three seconds into this, he successfully drawn out some of the mana outside of his body. Creating this pressure effect to fall on the area in return dispelling the illusion placed on his surrounding.

The moment he had done this, he jumped back avoiding a flying dagger. "Oho~ looks like someone's out to get me." Koku announced seeing the figure of a man with a blue and red mask. "If you don't resist, i'll kill quickly." this person said in a somewhat forced tone.

"Is this a lady?" Koku thought to himself as he fake coughed, "And just what business do you have with me?" he asked the person with the mask. "I'm an adventurer from the two fazed moon guild. To be exact, i'm the masked executioner, and as for the reason i'm here Koku. Is because i'm after your bounty." hearing this Koku put up an emotionless face, while inside he was much different. "From what!? I swear… I thought there was one guild… there's more? i really need to read that guide book thing." he thought to himself not replying to the person who had stated their intentions.

"I see. Judging from the way you speak to me, I assume you're someone high up in there." he asked the unknown person getting ready for the attack which was soon to come. "You have a great sense of thought. I'm currently ranked amongst the top 500 adventurers in the guild. Oh and i'm apart of, dead man's execution party." this person finished.

"Well it's nice to meet you person thing" Koku said, appearing behind the Masked executioner with his hand covered in unstable Void lightning. "Die…" he said coldly as he then saw a second into the future as a sharp earth pillar flew up from the ground causing Koku to jump back pointing his lightning infused hand to the ground.

When the earth pillar shot up out of the ground, Koku's hand was able to split the sharp pillar in two by keeping his hand positioned right in the middle of the sharp tip. Doing this he jumped back seeing an axe fly passed where his shoulders used to be.

"You actually are strong… and quick huh" Koku pondered as the person looked at him through their mask like a ghost. "I see you underestimated me. There's a reason I'm in the top 500 kiddo. Honestly, once your dead which shouldn't take long, my children will live happily without having to lift a single hand for work." Koku smiled at this person now identifying this person as a women.

"Haha, children… Well how about this, if you look down at your missing arm and it's still there, i'll let you collect the bounty on me, okay?" Koku teased the lady who actually looked for a little less than a second feeling a little bit of electrical shocking sensations since Koku had been close to her with his hands submerged in lightning. But as she looked, she had been saying something, "You can't fool me kid."

As she looked, Koku closed the distance cutting her arms and legs all in one by using a Lightning entrance-(A move that allows him to move as fast as light by covering himself in lightning)-which made him as fast as light. All while keeping his hands submerged in Void lightning. So as she fell to the ground unable to move and or register the idea of her limbs falling off, Koku smiled at the confused lady who once again, was confused as to why she was on the ground, and Koku smiling while looking down at her.

"Hmmm… fun isn't it?" he asked her, who couldn't feel any pain yet, so her eyes shot around in the process seeing her limbs laying around with no blood. "So, tell me, how much is my bounty?" Koku asked with a playful smile. Seeing this lady in shock and not responding to him he could see as her eyes began to mirror pain as it began kicking in.

"Oh? Hehe, so the pains flooding your nerves now isn't it? If you tell me what I want to know, I'll let you live, and I'll of course heal you." He said seeming as genuine as possible. But he would have to wait a few minutes since the pain was catching up to the lady (Masked executioner) was pretty bad.

Right after the pain had become more familiar, the lady was able to hear Koku's repeated questions as he asked again, and this time she was about to answer him, but she began to plead for her own life. "Please, let me live, i have three children a-and th-they won't have anyone if i die!'' She pleaded with Koku who sighed saying, "Just answer the questions and I'll let you live, lady. Simple right?" he asked again, this time getting her to answer completely.

"Y-your bounty is~ 47,000 suncrest!" she replied in agonizing pain. "Hmmm that's a lot of money…" Koku thought to himself, letting the idea of turning himself in to collect the bounty slide by as a joke. "Okay, now for my second question. Ice tea or coffee?" he asked the lady in pain, confusing her. So she said coffee to get it over with and so Koku asked the third question.

"This is my final question. Red or blue?" Asking this she felt odd as a warm feeling enveloped her easing her pain. "Blue" she said, sighing a sigh of relief. "Okay, perfect. Come here" he said, pulling her by the collar of her shoulder. Then walking towards a nearby pond, he could see through the clearing of the trees. Koku dropped her into the water and having no limbs… that only meant one thing for her.

"Hehe, coffee's awfully hot you know." Koku tried reminding her, though she was underwater. "Let's heat the water up and make you immune to the Void lightning. He did this by covering her in a small coat of lightning, and so by sending lightning through the water, it heated it up to an insane level leaving her to her sinking fate.

"I lied about letting you live, heh." After this Koku thought aloud to himself. "I'll probably have her group after me. That or her guild maybe." After this Koku began walking away into the forest back on track to finding his way to Amagiri.
