King Arthur and the wizard Merlin. Have known each other long before Arthur became King of Camelot.
Their relationship is…. complicated, but they would do anything for each other.
Arthur and Merlin were taking a break from all the politics, and just tried to enjoy a nice walk through a forest near Camelot, but. Merlin could see that King Arthur was distracted the whole time they were walking. It seemed that Arthur was still stuck in the past.
" Seems you have a another hole in your belt. I think that the King of Camelot should go on a diet " said Merlin.
" Sure " said Arthur.
" Wow. Not even a shut up Merlin. You must really be lost in thought "
" I am thinking about the future of Camelot, and the future of my people "
" Well. Don't try to think too hard. I don't want the King of Camelot to die by overthinking "said Merlin with a grin.
Arthur just looked at Merlin, and then said " Shut up Merlin " which made Merlin smile, but then Arthur and Merlin noticed two individuals standing ahead of them on the road they were walking on.
" How can we be of help? " said King Arthur, but the two men did not answer. Instead one of the men walked up to Merlin and Arthur, and shook both their hands.
" Karna. Just what do you think your doing " said the other man.
" Well, Arjuna. I just wanted to greet these two men. I believe. That is the polite thing to do " said Karna.
Arjuna gritted his teeth by Karna's responds.
" They seem to get along, quite well " said Merlin.
" Shut it Merlin. I am King Arthur, and this is my useless servant, Merlin. I take it. That your names are Karna and Arjuna " said Arthur.
Karna had walked back to stand beside Arjuna.
" It seems you both have a complicated relationship. Like we do " said Karna.
" How so? " said both Arthur and Merlin.
" Well. Me and Arjuna are brothers. We are also rivals " said Karna.
" Is it not normal for siblings to be rivals? " said Merlin.
" I beheaded Karna " said Arjuna in a cold tone.
Both Arthur and Merlin were quiet for awhile, and then Merlin said " I have also thought about killing Arthur whenever he makes me wash his socks, but I never do it "
" First off. That is treason, my dear Merlin, and second. You don't even wash my sock that well " said Arthur.
Merlin just looked at Arthur, and then said " Ungrateful King. Nothing I do for you is good enough " Merlin then crossed his arms.
" Alright. Look. I am sorry. How about I give you a day off when we get back to Camelot " said Arthur.
" Sweet talk is not going to work " said Merlin.
" Fine. How about two days? " said Arthur.
Merlin looked at Arthur, and then said " Really? "
" On my honor as a King and as a knight " said Arthur.
" Alright. I forgive you. Let us now deal with these two " said Merlin, and drew forth his sword that Arthur gave him. Arthur also drew forth Excalibur.
" Seems that we can finally get started " said Arjuna, but before Arjuna could attack. Karna wanted to say something to Arjuna.
" Good luck, my brother, and may we both have fun in this battle " said Karna with a warm smile.
Arjuna just looked at Karna, and then blushed.
" Why do you never say stuff like that to me " said Merlin, and all Arthur did was just look at Merlin.
The four men then charged at one another. Their battle lasted from sunrise till sunset. Where Arthur and Merlin were able to defeat Karna and Arjuna.
" Well. Now. since that is over with. Let us head back to Camelot. Where you can wash my socks " said Arthur.
" But you said that I would get two days off " said Merlin.
" And Indeed you shall. Your two days of vacation start at sunrise, until then. I am going to work you to the bone " said Arthur with the smile of a King.
Merlin just looked at Arthur, and then said " I may just commit treason soon "
Later, at the Morrigan's cave.
" Why do I get the feeling that Karna and Arjuna let themselves get defeated " said Lug.
" What makes you say that " said lady Morgana.
" Arjuna wields the Pashupatastra. A weapon powerful enough to destroy the whole universe, and Karna wields the power of the sun, thanks to his father. So they should have easily killed both Arthur and Merlin, regardless of destiny. I wonder why they didn't " said Lug.
Lug then looked at the Morrigan, and the Morrigan was just smiling.
