Moving ahead to later inside the limo. The mother-daughter duo sat comfortably in their own space, in their thoughts. Earlier they had dropped Macy off at her rented apartment and we're now heading towards a restricted vacant highway that is owned by a mysterious tycoon.
Why, if you may ask?
Well, that's because Rose love taking risks and it was the quickest way back home. Macy lives downtown almost out of the town while Rose lives inside the mainland. So the distance they took to drop Macy off was far and well thought.
Bright green eyes twinkle in the night like a cat, its reflection showing on the tinted window that was invincible to the outside but visible to the inside. Kiara's eyes were still a little sleepy from being woken up to bade Macy off. Ever since then, they had both maintained their positions, a hand under their chin, the other drawing scribbles on the glass and thumping her finger to a silent song, they stared out the window like identical matryoshka dolls.
Kiara's thoughts were of the handsome mister she had met. Her heartache at the distance that had separated them, like an overstretched rubber. Still brimming with hope, she mulled over how she could find him and when next they would meet again.
The turmoil of emotions she felt was a strong indulgence that he was the true one, but...
She sighs out deeply, her true thoughts were those alone who do not understand themselves.
She gazed up at her mother who was equally in thoughts. Not knowing that equally, The mindset of Rose wasn't something that just anyone could comprehend, especially now when she was vulnerable and vengeful.
"Mommy?"
"Yes?"
"When can I have a new daddy?"
Her question was that of what every child born to a single mother would ask. After they had compared their friends' home with theirs, they would notice the space where and a father was to fill up and become sensitive about it. Then gradually they would grow to feel that they were different for a reason that maybe they were different or that their father didn't love them to want them.
Rose paused during those moments, wondering the possibilities that attack her each time her darling asks her that particular question. She had read about those possibilities from an article unsure how true they were. Furthermore, she had no recollection of a fatherly figure in her memories so she wasn't conclusive what they truly were. She blinked once before shifting her gaze down towards the innocent eyes of her little innocent sunshine.
Yes Innocent! Those were also what she used to console the turmoil in her heart. But it didn't help that her mouth became sharper.
"Who said anything about a new daddy, Mommy is enough for you."
She arrogantly declared. Luckily or not Kiara was used to such answers, she was expecting the same answer her mother always proclaim each time. Thankfully this time she was determined to change that. She was going to fight stubbornness with stubbornness.
"But I want a little brother or sister and Uncle E said I can only get a sibling when I get a new daddy."
Concurrently, Eric, the victim sneezed loudly amid a group. He was so embarrassed he hurriedly excused himself, wondering in his heart who was cursing him so viciously.
That is because Rose was silently cursing him. She knew that the whole Bacheman family was in on getting her married with Dywen as the head of boot lickers, even involving her innocent t sunshine. She couldn't do anything to Dywen because he is her adopted father and elder but that didn't mean Eric was scout-free.
"And besides all my friends in school have a daddy even YunYun has a daddy and she always makes fun of me for not having my own daddy."
Rose's spine instantly straighten forward.
"Yun Yun? Your little friend? Her family must be seeking death! Tell me her surname and I will deal with it."
Kiara shook her head disapprovingly, failing at the attempt of being pitiful when her mother had a filter of vengeance.
"No mommy, Kiara just wants a daddy."
Her eyes glossed over with tears making her eyes glow like gems, tugging at her motherly strings.
Rose sighed deeply.
She thought deeply of how many times she had sighed deeply at the thought of this issue. But how could she explain?
For starters, studies repeatedly show that children without fathers positively present in the home suffer greatly. Even before a child is born, their father's attitudes regarding the pregnancy, behaviors during the prenatal period, and the relationship between their father and mother may indirectly influence the risk for adverse birth outcomes.
In early childhood, studies show that school-aged children with good relationships with their fathers were less likely to experience depression, exhibit disruptive behavior, or lie. Overall, they were far more likely to exhibit prosocial behavior.
It was why she always made sure that there was always a male significant figure around her, from the number of boyfriends she's had down to Eric and Daryl.
"Kiara, it's not that I don't want to give you a daddy. it's just that I want to give you the best and that is making sure that your daddy will be a good man and he will take good care of you and love you just as much as I love you."
Even though we both won't be your biological parents, we will love you as though you are our own, we will protect you from evil and provide everything you want so that wherever Rachel maybe, she can rest assured.
Rose concluded the words she couldn't say in her heart as she stared at the identical red locks and heart-shaped face.
Kiara stared back at her before lowering her gaze and replying.
"Okay mommy, Kiara understands",
Granted that I may not pray alone with the mouth; help me that I may pray from the depths of my heart.
Rose was unaware of the intensity Kiara felt. Of how deeply all these affected her
Rose sigh in relief, she stretched forward to kiss her forehead,
"Thank you, babe."
"But Mommy?"
"Yes, sweetie?"
"What if Kiara finds a good daddy?"
Rose instantly froze with goosebumps as though imaginary cold hands were caressing her skin. She tried to get herself by caressing her nose with her forefinger.
"Silly girl! that's mommy's job."
She didn't understand why she acted sheepishly and why she felt flustered.
"Hmm! But just like mommy. Kiara wants daddy to take care of mommy and love you just as much as Kiara loves mommy because your happiness means a lot to Kiara."
Rose felt touched by her words. She kisses her forehead to show her appreciation before laying back into a comfortable silence. Her words had managed to dull the scent of conspiracy she felt. It made her think back to where those said words were once used.
(I want you out there living your life having fun, falling in love, breaking up with guys, because your happiness also means a lot to me, Rose.)
Rose had a faraway look in her eyes as she reminisces the time Rachel said those words.
They were having their normal argument that day, it had become a continued reoccurrence between them. Rachel was busy preparing for a date with Daniel while Rose was slumped on the bed with a book in hand. Rachel lamented that all she did was eat, sleep and read. She was always studying as if she was preparing to write a very important exam. While she spoke, Rose arrogantly ignored her then the both of them would argue for hours before finally, they would both leave the house dressed beautifully to join Daniel.
Those were one of the times she missed a lot. And they were even more painful because she had promised to always be there to brighten her day even though Rachel didn't know that the reason why she read was because she was also trying to support her.
Have you ever met someone who you immediately felt a strong connection to, even though you'd never met before? This phenomenon could just indicate a random but powerful synergy between two strangers. However, if you're open to the idea of past lives, there's a chance you may have known a familiar stranger at a different place and point in time. Many psychics and spiritualists believe that we have past life connections with the people, places, and even pets in our current lives. And if you've ever wondered whether you had a past life, you'll probably want to know how to tell if someone you know was in your past life, too.
A tear silently made its way down the corner of her eyes to the back of her ear, instantly hiding the trace of her sorrow.
'Sometimes, all I need is for you to be there. but even then, you still disappoint me.'
At exactly midnight. A pair of misty green eyes flutter open behind a pair of long lashes.
Kiara opened her eyes staring blanking at the ceiling where her artificial stars shone dimly. Her eyelid was glossy, weakly opening and closing, but those green orbs shone brighter, they were so clear you could see the blue ring in them. She also looked paler than before.
She weakly stretched out her arm towards those stars. She wiggle the number of fingers in count, then compared the length and breadth.
"You are still as silly as always."
She sighs deeply.
She raised her little body. As always, she's always dazzled by the effect of her princess room. The pink colors and the lights along with her mountain of stuffed teddies.
Her heartfelt pleased at the sight. She felt contended in her soul for the luxuries she now had.
After getting herself back from being sidetracked, she headed straight to her little study table where a pink computer was inputted.
Like a programmed machine, She powered on her computer like a seasoned expert. At first, it showed a picture of Kiara and Rose along with various apps of a child's educational needs. Her hands moved quickly as she typed in some keys before vigorously punching in some commands.
That adorable child computer turned into cyberwarfare with '0' and '1'.
They reflected on her eyes burning with determination. She further typed furiously
"I will find you and I will also have my revenge."
