However, While Rose and Eric were busy reconciling the past and strengthening their fort-hold to the future that awaits them. unknown to the other people's night wasn't going too well.
True to her words. That night the Ghouls had an attack they never saw coming.
A delicate demure woman dressed in a tiny piece of clothing with a flushed red face stumbled her way through the front door of her house with the help chauffeur and a butler.
At the top of the stairway, there an equally beautiful woman in her middle age stood in front of the stairway, dressed in her nighties.
She had a cautious look on her face as her heart leaped into her throat as she approached her daughter, taking her into her arms.
"Dear? What happened to you?"
Taking a closer look at the unsightly state of her daughter, she turned her angry eyes to the chauffeur that was sent to get her precious darling.
"You! What did you do to my daughter?"
The poor chauffeur instantly panicked at the mama bear wanting to get a wipe at him.
"Madam, I didn't do anything, I only went to the location the young miss friends had sent and found the young miss like this."
"How can that be?! My Lana is a respectable lady and doesn't drink." Mrs. Ghoul declared arrogantly.
The chauffeur had a constipated look on his face but his mouth remained sealed shut.
"Mom, you are too noisy."
She struggled out of their hold heading towards the stairway. Mrs. Ghoul dismissed the chauffeur and butler before running after her daughter.
"My dear, what happened to you? How are you in this state?"
Mrs. Ghoul was having trouble accepting the fact that her proper and delicate young lady was as drunk as a skunk, and had a bird nest of hair that was utter unruly. The kind that one could get after coming out of a catfight, along with that, the smell.
"Mommy! Eric. My Eric did this to me, mom."
Mrs. Ghoul was confused,
"Eric? How is this possible?" She knew Eric since he was a little boy along with his brother Paul. She practically raised them after the death of their mother.
Eric was a sweetheart, despite his size, he was every bit a blue-blooded chivalry.
"Yes, that's right! It's that vixen's fault. She dares to pillow-talk my Eric saying bad things about me and now my Eric won't even look at me."
"Mom, she taking my Eric away from me."
She bawled out in slurred distress. Mrs. Ghoul was extremely agitated over her. She turned her to her bedroom, let her cry for a while then serve her the soup the butler had brought.
Once Lana had calmed down, her mother avoided looking at her face while she cleaned it.
She could see that her daughters in pain and going through a lot but her fear for her husband forced her to turn a bad eye to them.
Recently her husband had been in a bad mood because of the company. They attended the party with her father in- law in hopes of using his influence to garner help to solve the crises but alas her beloved daughter's performance tonight had foiled their plans. Now her husband was boiling in rage.
She saw it the moment they got home, how he chided her for not training their daughter well, then receiving calls after calls from their partners abroad demanding why there was a late supply of shipment.
From the bloodshot eyes of her husband, she knew her beloved daughter was surly going to get it. Oh how she wish she could extend it till tomorrow but she couldn't, but only pray it ends well.
Gently her voice resounded extremely meek mixed with guilt, she sat beside her daughter gently cleaning her arm with the warm cloth as she tried to relay a message to her previous darling.
"My dear, now that you have calmed down. Why don't you go see your father and help him with an issue?"
Lana's mind was sober enough for her to regard her mother's all too submissive posture. She sneer in disgust once the taste of being stabbed in the back with a smile on her face reflected her request.
"Why should I? Was I the one that offended someone!"
Flustered by her refusal, Ms. Ghoul tried persuading again.
"Lana dear, please be reasonable. This isn't about who offended who but to find a solution that would benefit the whole family. You know your father has been working on this contract that will pay millions enough to get you that bag you have always wanted." she bribed.
On a normal day, words like that would have had Lana eating out of her parent's palm like a good puppy, but what they didn't know was that not only was Lana drunk but she was also drug.
She appeared to be sober but actually, she was drugged with a potent that clouded her mind and gave her an aggressive attitude.
And, Princess Lana did have an ugly trait.
"Go away!! I don't want to see you!"
She pushed her mother by her arm to the ground.
Mrs. Ghoul was bewildered by her daughter's action.
"Lana, you?"
"I said get out!"
She flung the utensils to the ground in a ting tatter clash almost splashing the hot content on her mother who was quick to dodge.
Unfortunately, Mr. Ghoul had appeared at that time, coupled with his foul mood his face got darker.
"To my study. Now!"
His tone left no room for argument. It was as sharp as frost bites chilling Lana's bad with dread before storming off. Knowing her father well, Lana understood at once that there was another trouble waiting for her just weeks after solving the previous one. With a deep groan, she burrowed into her blankets not wanting to move. Her head still spinning, she wanted so badly to lay down.
Twiddling her fingers like a pitiful housewife, Mrs. Ghoul prompts her daughter.
"D-dear, let's go. We shouldn't keep your father waiting."
Lana rolled her eyes before fluttering it close.
"Why should I? You brought the soup, right? Get me another one, I will drink it before meeting him."
She sounded tired but Mrs. Ghoul was extremely fluttered seeing her daughter behave like when she was little and worst her husband was in a foul mood. She prayed to the heavens for a solution. But sadly there weren't any answers.
The time she spend trying to persuade her daughter took longer than she expected because the bedroom door was banged open and Mr. Ghoul stormed in their direction.
Pa...!
His hands moved as fast as the wind, Mrs. Ghoul shrieked louder blinking once to find Lana on the ground, hand print visible on the right side of her cheek.
"You ungrateful brat! I paid millions to make sure you graduated from the best business university. And this is how you repay me?"
Mrs. Ghoul shivered in fright at the pure anger that oozed in the air, and even Lana shivered in fear. her legs were wobbly with fear yet she stood firm.
Normally she would submit once her father acted like this. She was daddy's girl, always wanting to please him but tonight the drugs gave her an irrational mindset, made her live the illusion of her deepest heart desires
"Why hit me?! It was what you wanted. I never did want to study business."
She lamented bitterly through wails. What she had always despised but was forced into, was denying the right to choose her career path just because she was the only heir and was appropriate for her to take the path that would strengthen her foundation. The pain she felt surged through her body
like a grinding blade.
Mr. Ghoul certainly knew that he was forcing his daughter but he was too blinded by greed to know what was right. And the fact that he was just a few fingertips away from a huge sum, clouded his judgment and made him abusive.
Pa!....
She bit back a cry of pain.
The second slap was on the left cheek, it reminded Lana of those times she did speak up about what she wanted only to receive that same strength and pain from the slap.
Her mother choked up on her running tears, she threw herself on her daughter in a protective embrace pleading bitterly at her husband.
She was from a respectable family but ever since she married her husband she had to experience a whole new life.
Not all that sparkle was gold.
"Honey please she doesn't know what she's saying. You can see she's drunk."
Mr. Ghoul ignored her. He only cared about his profits and now rectifying this error was too important.
"Drunk? Did I ask her to drink? And displaying the fact that she drank to this state is utterly embarrassing."
"Wrenched child! Good for nothing! Who did you offend while you were out drinking.?"
Lana drew a constipated look on her face, she wasn't sure if she should feel offended or tickled by the accusation her father threw at her.
'What a joke! Lana was the trouble'
