"Lana, cease your blabbering!"
Eric grabbed her roughly from behind pinning her with a gaze that had her shrinking in fear but She raised her chin higher feigning brave.
She was cowardly brave taking in the attribute of a woman of justice, besides she had people around anticipating for a good show she had promise to deliver.
"It's not blabbering Eric, we all want to know the status of this.... this worldly woman who joined your family with excess weeds laying rampart."
She flared agitatedly.
It was a known fact that a jealous woman does better research than the FBI. Rose only had a sneer of disgust directed toward women like Lana Ghoul.
"Its my family decision Lana, outsiders like you have no right to interfere." he fired back in an harsh tone.
Eric's eyes were red. There was so much intensity in his eyes, that it was a different portrait to the gentle golden prince he held up.
The one mostly taken aback by this change was Lana. Her eyes were wide open glossy with unshed tears.
"Eric? Are?... Are you really going to defend that outsider over me? I'm your childhood friend, Eric. You have known me longer than her."
So why? why was his attitude so different. He once used to always give in to her, they were so close they could even be considered childhood sweetheart.
When did this happen?, she wondered.
Was it when she left all those years to chase her own dreams? were those years apart enough to change, to take the Eric she once knee away from her?.
While Lana was feeling astonished and pitiful, Eric still had that cold look on his face, his tongue had become sharp, it puncture every organ with his words.
"The childhood friend I know doesn't slander another person in public."
He mocked and chided severely unaware of the burning anger that replaced her broken heart.
"Slander?! How is this slander? I call a shameless woman with loose characters out for her crimes."
"Yes it is slander and by law you can be sued for defamation. I know that you are rich enough to afford it."
"You are acting ridiculous Eric, she's the outsider here not me. Or do you still deny the fact that she does have a child with her from outside?"
Her words were enough to cast doubtful thoughts to the audience.
At first when Eric defended her chastity they were in support of him but Lana's last statement was enough to derived them back. 'one does not like airing their dirty liner outside' Where the Bacheman's trying to hide a shameful act?
Of course if the audience can make up these assumptions the people in question could read their thoughts on their expressions. Old man Dywen was words beyond stating upset by this event.
"Lana, don't you think you have gone too far."
From behind Eric came the soft voice of Fiona, Eric's brother's wife, dressed in an elegant pink mermaid gown.
Lana darted a look of distain at her.
"Sister Nessa!! sister Nessa, you tell me? with the fact that we are old family friends, is it wrong of me to question the morals of the strange girl your family picked up off the street?"
The corner of her nude painted lips curved to the side giving a stretch mark on her forehead.
"We didn't pick her off the street neither do we or any outsider question her moral because we trust and respect her."
"Sister Nessa?.."
She gave a lopsided grin, the wort on her face right under her eyes stretched to reveal more of her soft features. Irish women were enigmatic and captivating, yet often remain a complete mystery .
"You have no right to interfer in the decisions of our family or to question our family's choices, you are still an outsider."
"You... you?"
She took deep breaths her eyes searching Dywen knowing he would still support her. She grew up under his eyes. She wanted so much to use her attachment for her benefits.
"Un- uncle? Is it wrong of me to be concerned about the family that I consider as mine?"
Those clear eyes of her glittered over the emotions playing on her face. Those who were aware watched keenly how she hunched her back, watered her eyes, to display the white lotus role.
Sadly enough her pitiful attempt was savaged by Eric's impatient command.
"I don't know what makes you so stupid, but it really works. Still are you always this stupid, or are you making a special effort today Damn it! Apologize now Lana."
There was a long stretch of silence before slowly her eyes went round. Her face contorted
with the look of horror..
"You.... You- You don't expect me to apologize to her? Like really apologize? Eric are you out of your mind!!! No I will not! You are the one being stupid! why should I apologize when I was simply just stating the facts. I'm speaking the truth here, you are the one stupid here."
Eric's mouth twisted to reveal a sneer uglier than a frown.
"I don't care what you think just apologize."
Her teeth gritted hard.
The tension was so tense, they weren't getting anywhere with this argument instead it was making things worst, separating between right and wrong among the righteous.
Dywen shifted his attention to Lana's parents who stood behind her awaiting the outcome. His behaviour that of reluctant.
On one hand these were family friends on the other they were business associate. Any words uttered from his mouth would have great recuportion against either side.
He could only drive the ball to the father. A very passive character that even him wondered how Elder Ghoul brought him up.
"Mathew? the situation is as such, so would you please control your daughter."
Mathew Ghoul whom Lana had great resemblance to let off a small smile before uttering in a nonchalant behaviour as if the matter wasn't a serious matter.
"Err... Uncle Dywen, they are just simply kids having fun. There is no harm done."
Because of the wayward way her father spoke, Lana took forth bold arrogant steps.
"Uncle?"
But who would have thought that she would be slapped in the face like literally.
A loud resounding 'Pah' that stunned the crowd.
