As Silver entered the hotel room he saw Wendy walking back and forth in front of the door. Wendy glanced at Silver and said "Oh good, your here." Silver stared at her and asked, "What's wrong?" Wendy stared at him and said "It's about Amber, she-" As Silver dashed past her towards Amber he asked, "What's wrong with her?" Silver put his hand on her forehead for a few moments as Wendy said "She got a cold." Silver took his hand away and said "Her forehead is burning up." Silver reached into his pocket and pulled out a blue stick.
Silver cracked the blue stick and held it to her forehead and said "This should help." Wendy sat down beside him and asked "What is that?" Silver stared intently at Amber while saying "Their just a tube that releases nitrogen when cracked, the outside is cold but not cold enough to harm anyone, the inside is a whole other story though." Wendy stared at Silver and asked, "So what are you gonna do about her being sick?" Silver thought for a moment and said "I can't take her to see a doctor since I don't have her medical records, I guess I'll just have to take care of her myself."
Wendy stared at him and asked, "What about your work?" Silver smiled and said, "I just got back from a job, so no worries there." As Amber opened her eyes she glanced at Silver and Wendy and whispered "I'm sorry." Silver glanced at her and said, "You have no reason to say sorry, so don't worry about apologizing." As Amber coughed Silver stared at her and said "If anyone should be apologizing it's me, it's most likely my fault for knowing next to nothing when it comes to parenting."
Amber shook her head knocking Silver's hand away and whispered "It's not your fault." Silver put the cold tube back on her head and said "Don't push yourself to talk, just lay there and relax until you feel better." Amber stared at him for a few seconds and nodded before coughing once more and closing her eyes again." Wendy glanced at Silver and said, "I should be able to get some medicine for coughs at a pharmacy." Silver glanced at her and said, "I'd appreciate that." As Wendy left Silver stared at Amber and said "Just hang in there, Wendy's gonna get you some medicine."
Silver stared at the tube and said "These things can last a couple of hours, maybe I should leave it on her and try to help her with something else." Silver nodded and said, "Yeah that would be good." Silver walked into another room and back out with bandages and sat back down beside Amber. Silver took some of the bandages and wrapped the tube to tie it to her forehead. Silver nodded and said, "Yeah that works way better." Silver stared at Amber for a few seconds and then pulled his phone out and said "The internet is bound to have something about how to help colds."
As Silver scrolled through some sites he tapped one and said "Food that'll help colds?" Silver stood up and said, "Alright then, I'll cook porridge." Silver ran out of the room and said "I bet I can ask the hotel staff to lend me their kitchen for a few minutes." As Silver arrived in the hotel's kitchen he asked a female chef "Can I use this kitchen for a bit." The woman stared at him for a few seconds and asked "Why should I let an amateur like you into my kitchen?" Silver stood there for a few seconds and said "This is gonna sound really dumb coming from a guy, I'm trying to make porridge for... my daughter who's sick."
The woman stared at him and said "I don't believe it." Silver stood there and asked, "What part?" The woman pointed at him and said "That you can cook and have a daughter." Silver scratched the back of his head and said "Well I can cook but I'm not exactly her father." Silver stared at her and said, "I didn't lie but I guess my explanation kinda sucks." The woman stared at him angrily and asked what is your definition of cooking?" Silver thought for a moment and said "Making something edible from various ingredients, I think."
She stared at him even more annoyed and said "Your definition is completely wrong." She pointed at him and said, "Cooking is the practice of making delicious food that everyone can and will enjoy, it is an art that must taste good for both the eyes and the mouth." Silver stared at her with a very confused look and said "Taste with your eyes?" She nodded and said, "Of course." Silver glanced around the kitchen and asked "Then what about blind people?" She glanced away and said, "It still must look good." Silver stared at her and put his hand together while saying "Come on, give me a chance at least!"
The female chef glanced at him and said "If you can impress me with any dish I'll agree to let you cook here whenever you want, but if I'm not impressed you're not allowed to step into this kitchen ever again, understand?" Silver nodded and excitedly said "Yeah sure." Silver reached into his shirt and pulled out the cookbook as he said "I'm so glad this wasn't damaged." Silver flipped through a few pages and said "Here we go porridge." The female chef peeked over his shoulder at the recipe and stared in amazement as she asked "What kind of recipe is that?"
Silver shrugged and said, "I'm honestly not sure, but that doesn't mean it won't taste great." The female chef took a few steps back and said "Fine, do what you want so you can get out of my kitchen already." After around half an hour Silver held a bowl of porridge with a few leaf like garments on top and said "Finally finished." Silver glanced at the female chef and said "There's more in that pot, you can do whatever you want with it, and the other dishes are clean." As Silver left the female chef walked towards the pot and stared at it.
The female chef grabbed a wooden spoon and scooped some of it out as she said "It looks rather plain." As she lifted it to her mouth and tried some she paused for a moment and asked "How can something so plain taste so good?" The chef scooped up some more and asked "Did... did I lose the bet?" The female chef kept eating the porridge as she said "I've never tasted food as good as this, how did he do it?" The female chef slammed the spoon down and shouted "He must be a professional chef I haven't heard of before."
As Silver sat down beside Amber with the bowl of porridge beside her he sneezed and rubbed his nose while saying "Someone must be talking about me." Silver stared at Amber and tapped her shoulder as he said "I brought you some porridge, you should wake up and eat some, it'll make you feel better." As Wendy entered the room breathing heavily she said "I... got the medicine." Amber slowly opened her eyes and coughed while sitting up. Wendy set a package of medicine down beside Amber and glanced at Silver as she said "She'll have to eat something with the medicine."
Silver pointed to the porridge and asked "Will this work?" Wendy nodded and opened the small package as she said "This will work." Wendy started pouring a powder over the porridge as she said "If she eats this on top of it she should be fine tomorrow." Amber coughed again as Silver asked, "Does it really work that quickly?" Wendy nodded and handed the porridge to Amber as she said "Yeah, but the medicine might make it taste bad." Amber grabbed the spoon and began to eat the porridge. After her first bite, she glanced at Silver and said "It's really good."
Silver smiled and said "Glad to hear that." As they heard a knock on the door Silver stared at Amber and said "You just stay right here and keep eating, kay?" Amber nodded and said "Okay." As Silver opened the door the female chef stood there for a few seconds before Silver asked "Can I help you?" The female chef stared at him and said "I wanna know how you made that porridge taste so good despite it looking so plain." Silver reached into his shirt and pulled out his book as he said "I just happen to know a few secret ingredients."
The female chef stared at him and asked "Do you think... maybe you could... tell me the recipe?" Silver thought for a moment and said "I'm pretty sure the person who made this recipe told me not to tell anyone about it." Silver stared at her and said, "I don't think he'd mind so long as you don't tell anyone." Silver wrote the recipe down on a separate piece of paper and said "Here's the recipe, but be sure not to tell anyone, if he found out he'd definitely be mad at me."
Once the female chef left Silver sat back down beside Amber and said "Sorry, just a visitor." Wendy stared at him and said, "You made that porridge yourself?" Silver nodded and said, "Yeah, I used a recipe I learned on the job." Wendy stared at him and said, "I wanna try some too!" Amber scooped some porridge onto the spoon and held it towards Wendy and whispered "You can try some too!" Wendy stared at the spoon for a few moments and said "No that's yours, I'll just have him make some later or something."
